The best birthday day I have ever eaten. My salmon was succulent and juicy with the right hint of lemon. My broccoli was fres, omg those honey croissants will make you hurt yourself. I enjoyed the coconut, pineapple mule to top it off. I am so full I don't want to drive back to Atlanta. I promise to visit again very soon. Hema has the best customer service. She is so friendly and very helpful. Her service was exceptionally wonderful! read more

We went on a Wednesday evening and I couldn't believe how many people were there! We waited less than 10 minutes and were seated by a very gracious hostess. Our server came promptly to get our drink orders and was very knowledgeable about the drink selections. Her service was excellent as was the food! I was so excited to learn that almost everything is made in house. We got the steak & ribs and were delighted with how wonderful they both were. I thought they were a little too peppery, but then I don't care for pepper at all. We will definitely be returning there for many different occasions. read more

We keep giving this place try after try and it keeps getting worse. Today the wait was 30 min with 15-20 tables open. Slow service. Food has gone even further downhill, and that I didn't think was possible. When compared to other Cheddars this one is def the worst. read more

Great food and attentive servers. I wouldn't recommend coming with a large group, long wait time. read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - Lime Chicken and Shrimp with Broccoli and rice casserole and Macaroni & Cheese - American Near Me - Athens, Georgia

Tried Cheddars again (Athens Georgia) last night after walking out about 2 months ago for no service (sat for 20 minutes, no waiter ever came to the table). The restaurant was full when we arrived, and the waiter staff seemed a little disorganized. 2 different waiters approached our table and told us they would be serving us, usually not a good sign. Drinks and appetizer came out in good time, but after waiting about 45 minutes for our main meals (party of 3) I had the manager box everything up as it was starting to get late. Meals were pretty disappointing, my advertised "thick cut" meatloaf (2 pieces) were real small in size and cut real thin. One piece was ridiculously thin. If I had been in the restaurant I would have returned the meal. The broccoli casserole I ordered was a tea spoon of mush thrown in the "to go" box. I could not believe the tiny portion. My wife's country fired chicken was under cooked and the batter still had a doughy taste. They also forgot the Texas toast that is supposed to come with the meal. My son's meal was also very small quantity. He's 11 and laughed when he opened his "to go" box. Only good thing was that no one got sick from the meal. I've seen this restaurant when it was new go from great service and hot meals to lousy service and not so good meals. We will not be back anytime soon, not worth the time or the money. read more

During COVID we've tried to patronize local restaurants. Tonight it was Cheddars for takeout. The takeout portion was easy and efficient. The food was 50/50. The wife ordered chicken tenders platter and it and both sides were very good. I ordered The Original hamburger and fries. The burger was like a typical store bought pattie that was cooked until it was well done and dry. Originally the Cheddar's burger was a thick juicy burger...not anymore. It has been several years since we ate at Cheddar's and it will be several more before we brave it again. Please return the original, Original hamburger. read more

Waited an hour and asked our waitress to check on the food. She came back with half the order and said they were out of the soup my husband ordered.... Took her an hour to ask that question??? Our server was the bartender. Sorry. Will not be back. read more

Checked in at front and was told it would be 10 mins. After waiting 25 mins, walked in and hostess was nowhere to be seen. After waiting for over 5 mins and at least 7 more behind me she shows up with an attitude. Asked her how much longer before the table was ready and she just gave a "oh yeah" look and took me back.to the table. No sorry or I apologize or anything. So after 10 mins at the table with no acknowledgement from the waiter who passed by 4 times we left. Do not recommend this place until they get better customer service. Oh and I did overhear him waiting on the table next to ours. Sounded like an 80's used car salesman trying to upsell everything. read more

Lunch was good but rather small portion of salmon. It's good for large groups and has plenty of parking. Server was nice but it took at least 30 minutes for food read more

The food was wayyyy to damn salty. And gave us 3 really bad heart burn. The waitress was really good though.

Server was good, but wasn't around a lot. We had to flag him down for a to go box and even then we barely got his attention. That being said, he was super considerate (even to special requests) and was super knowledgable about the menu. The food was fantastic and the portions were more than plenty. We ended with the shooter desserts they had and it was an excellent. Will definitely be back! read more

The food was amazing I got the grilled chicken Alfredo and it was delicious and everything thing comes in a huge serving more than enough for one person. My waiter was amazing and was always helping. read more

Garbage. Heed the reviews. Slow, inadequate service and cold food is not a good look. Won't be back. Ever.

After eating here my buddy looked at me said this experience was a 8/10 and I couldn't agree more. Kayla our server was no doubt an experienced veteran, drinks and chips were refilled on notice and speaking of drinks the sweat tea here absolutely slaps! Ribs and sides here were good but don't get the sirloin. The steak was tougher than a bodybuilder, and I felt bad for my utensils. Other than that the environment was cozy and my buddies and I enjoyed the setting. We went during 3-4 o'clock range which wasn't packed but there were too many oldies. On the way out we had three different employees hold the door open while we left. Would return read more

***Disclaimer: Review is purely based on a to-go order *** Abridged version: Pros: accurately described time to complete order, delicious food, good service, large amount of food for price, & correction/refund properly given for incorrect food items Cons: incorrect order, missing side item 4/5 stars: 1 star missing bc incorrect order Would highly recommend. Will definitely eat at this establishment again. Long version: My sister and I placed a to-go order through Tyler (I believe?): cheese fries, steak (cooked medium-rare) and shrimp combo with a loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli, and half rack of ribs and chicken tenders combo with fries and southern green beans. After calling in the order, we were told it would take 15-20 mins for the order to be ready. I was told that the to-go order would be at the bar. I arrived at Cheddar's 15 mins after the order was placed. Parking was ample enough, albeit it was now around 1:45 and we had probably missed the main lunch rush timing. I was greeted by the hosts and pointed towards the bar. After paying for my order (~$35)- the price was all calculated correctly- I came home and noticed that they had incorrectly packaged my order by replacing my shrimp for ANOTHER half rack of ribs and not packaging my side order of broccoli at all. I called Cheddar's again to tell them of the mistake. Tyler had picked up my call again and apologized on behalf of the establishment for the incorrect order and offered for my missing items to be compensated next time I ordered from Cheddar's. I thanked Tyler and was happy to see that I would be compensated for my incorrect order. Regarding the food, every item was deliciously cooked! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested, and the ribs were so tender and easy to tear apart from the bone. The ribs were also 95+% meat meaning there were no large chunks of fat on the ribs The fries were golden and still warm. The nice outer crunch on the fries paired well with the soft inner potato of the thicker cut of fries. The batter on the chicken tenders was simple and light. It tasted as though sugar was added to the green beans, which my sister did not enjoy, but the green beans were still great to me. The portions seemed significantly larger than expected, and between my sister and me, we finished the steak, all but 1 chicken tender, a half rack of ribs, and sides. We had an entire half rack of ribs, cheese fries, and 1 chicken tender left. Overall, I enjoyed the food and was pleased with the customer service I had received along with the friendliness of the staff. I will definitely be ordering from Cheddar's again soon! read more

Sat down at the bar at 2pm on a Saturday 12/30. Decided to leave at 2:10 after the bartender completely ignored us, failing to take a drink order or even give us water. Should have known better from the beginning when we were greeted by him saying feel free to sit at any of the open booths or high tops...even though he had two open bar stools directly in front of his micros. He did manage to break glasses and take phone calls from employees while we were waiting though. So kudos to him being weeded off a 10 person bar. read more

My husband and I stopped in for dinner last night. We waited for about two minutes before a hostess showed up. It was another two minutes before she looked up and noticed we were standing there, then she looked irritated that we were there. No greeting, no smile. This rode hard, put up wet looking woman finally seated us and told us that it would be a while before a server would be with us because he was so busy. Our server looked sloppy and dirty, he mumbled so much that we didn't even catch his name. We had to ask for napkins, plates, and refills. Appetizer wasn't warm, my dinner tasted like it was soaked in salt. Main course took forever to come out. Litter on the floor. From start to finish, it was a terrible experience and we will never return. My husband was on to something when about three minutes after we sat down he said, do you want to just get out of here? read more

Just like Applebee's except with a different name. That use regular lettuce for Caesar salads

Decent sized menu but nothing special. Good bread and salads. The primary turnoff with this restaurant is how crowded it was. Very little social distancing and masks. Not worth it. Wait staff were doing their best. read more

We went in tonight (Thursday) to have some drinks. Sarah, the bartender, was friendly and informative and makes a great drink! Our togo order was perfect. The manager was friendly and proactive. We LOVE Cheddars!! The food is great, portions are huge and the prices are incredible! Service has always been fantastic.

Hostess was extremely rude. We had the best waiter. But the hostess has a horrible attitude

I like to go out to lunch during the work day so I usually have about an hour to go to a restaurant. After this last visit, I will never go during the lunch hour again. I got there just around 11:30 to avoid the big lunch rush and I knew what I wanted ahead of time so I could order as soon as possible. It didn't really help save on time because we sat at our table for a good 10 minutes before the waiter even came to take our drink order. It wasn't even that packed so I'm not sure why it took so long. It took even longer for the food to come so by the time it arrived, our lunch hour was almost up. Our waited barely came to check on us so we had to wait another long while before we could even ask for our checks and to-go boxes. At this point, we knew it would be awhile before he even came back with those so we were not happy with the incredibly slow service. It would not have bothered me as much if it were actually busy enough to warrant taking a little longer but it wasn't. It ended up being an hour and a half excursion, which to me seems a little ridiculous seeing as I have gone to plenty of restaurants over the lunch hour and can be in and out in less than an hour. I like Cheddar's but am overall a little disappointed in the service. read more

Someone from the Cheddars staff reached out to us to try and make things right and when I followed up with them, they never responded and tried to make things right, just lip service I guess. I was hoping to give them another shot, but it looks like they will remain on our list of least favorite restaurants in Athens. read more

This place is ok....took long time to get croissants(like we recieved at the end of meal). Manager was nice. Ok menu. To be a fancy resturant took a very long time to recieve our stuff. And my pasta was par cooked chicken looked like it was microwaved. Prob wont return for a while. read more

Our server, Mary was very pleasant and the Bloody Mary was amazing. We were seated right away and they weren't very busy. Our server came right away for our drink orders and we received them very quickly. The issue came after placing our order. My salad came out quick, but swimming in dressing. We waited nearly an hour for our other food (which was strange since they weren't busy at all). When it came, I only got the soup from my order, not my half wrap. The soup was cold, so when the server brought my half wrap, I sent it back to be warmed. My half wrap that was suppose to come with lettuces, buffalo sauce, chicken, cheese and ranch only came with a cold chicken finger, buffalo sauce and cold cheese. Very disappointed this trip. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars, is because our server was so pleasant (even though I asked for lemons for my water 3 times and never got it). read more

Cleanliness needs improvement. The electronic ordering tablet on our table was filthy. Food was fair, not as good as last time. Waitress said she went to "fold silver." She was gone 20 minutes. I never got a drink refill and we waited 10 minutes for her to return so we could get out check. What's going on there?! read more

Sat forever and saw all the servers standing around the hostess stand chatting and talking. Hostess never actually talked to us and actually threw the menus on the table before walking off. Never got anyone to even take a drink order and had to walk out to find somewhere that would actually serve us. Kind of at a loss why they were so rude to us? Will definitely avoid in the future. read more

I called my food in at 6pm. They told me a 20 minute wait. Ok fine, normal wait time. So I go sit at the bar when I arrived at 6:15. Sat there, they took my name and made sure my order was placed. All of a sudden it's 6:50pm and I'm still sitting there at the bar, no one asked me anything. I guess me sitting there for 30 minutes was normal to them. I gave it until 7:05pm and just walked out. Called another restaurant while walking out, places my order, and got TLALOC instead. Way better food and cheaper might I add lol. This place is slow!!! Everyone knows this place as being the slowest, maybe in ALL of Athens. Will never eat here again. I always got the Salmon whenever I did go inside to eat, but that was twice. I heard everything else wasn't as tasty, from all of my friends and family. read more

Came here for lunch on February 9th with my brother. Seated as soon as we walked in at a booth. My brother ordered the Onion Rings as an appetizer which were great with their selection of 2 sauces. I ordered a steak that was meant to be medium, but it was a bit underdone that had to be sent back. I also received gravy on my mash potatoes when I didn't ask for any. When I got the steak cooked more, it was tough, very dry, and somewhat flavorless. They server was kind enough to give us to go drinks and to go sauces for our left over onion rings. I would not recommend the steak, but the onion rings were great! read more

We went 7/26/15 with a party of 11. We were seated very quickly but we would not have minded waiting longer to have a table that actually accommodated all of us. Two tables that would seat 6 were put together. 5 people in a size normally for 4. We did not have room for our plates when our food arrived. When fresh drinks were brought out the original glass was not taken away. We had a tower of empty glasses in center of our the overly crowded table. The food was great, no complaints about that at all. Just very cramped for dining. read more

Some really rude guy answers the phone. Not helpful at all. Once again unfriendly service.

It's an alright place to come to, wasn't really satisfied with my food was kinda cold but the server was nice

It was a late dinner and we knew it was a risk walking in 15 minutes before closing but to our surprise EVERYONE treated us with top QUALITY service as a we would expect in a 5 STAR restaurant. No attitudes or crazy glances because they were ready to go home, nothing. The place was quiet, clean and comfortable, the greeter, our waitress Anesha and the manager were EXCELLENT. Our food was THE BEST. No old, stale or leftovers from earlier. My medium well steak was cooked perfectly along with my ribs, sweet potato and broccoli casserole. My husband enjoyed his ribs, sweet potato, mac'n'cheese and grilled shrimp over rice. Everything was fresh, piping hot and well seasoned. I didn't even need steak sauce because it was so juicy & flavorful. Thanks so much for great customer service. We travel a lot and finding both a great restaurant with good food AND service is rare. Keep up the great work Cheddars in Athens, Georgia! read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - American Near Me - Athens, Georgia

This Cheddars has a great atmosphere. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because we found some plastic in the grilled salmon. The manager did give us another entree with no problems but it was the principle that we had plastic in the food. I would definitely look at the food before eating. read more

Building and atmosphere are lovely. Food was good but took forever to get to our table. After someone else brought our food out we never saw our waiter again. Never got refills, my son wanted ranch - no one came by to see if we needed anything. Not impressed. They need more training for sure. read more

I live in Atlanta and was so excited to find out that we have a Cheddars in Georgia. Although it's not around the corner I thought it would be worth the two hour round trip drive. I went on a Friday night with some girl friends after work so by the time we got there we were starving. I ordered the cheese dip and the Wisconsin cheddar bites as appetizers. A few minutes later the waitress let us know they were out of marinara for the cheddar bites and asked if we still wanted them; we declined. Then we order our food I ordered nachos and requested to leave the beef and chicken off. I wanted everything else on them. Our cheese dip came out and 2 minutes later the food came out. I noticed they didn't put the beans on my nachos. The waitress said she would have them remade. So at this point it was frustrating, but I was trying to enjoy myself since I was with friends I don't see often and we had driven so far. I waited patiently for my nachos to be remade. One of my friends also never received her mashed potatoes. She asked the server about them and the server said they are made from scratch so they take awhile. Hmmmm is the other food not made from scratch and even if that's the case everything should come out at the same time. Everyone finished their food and got their to-go containers and the mashed potatoes and nachos finally came. The nachos were chips with cheese a couple of beans and they threw some lettuce on top. They didn't put the sour cream, the jalapeños, or anything else that was supposed to be on them. At this point I feel it's time to involve a manager. The manager apologized and gave us some credit on the bill and some return vouchers. Honestly I doubt I will use them. It was the worst dining out experience I have ever had. I can't believe a restaurant can succeed with this kind of service. I also declined having the nachos remade a third time and left hungry. read more
