However, I called in advance to place my order and still had to wait 20+ minutes for my food to be ready once I got there so that was upsetting. The woman on the phone & running the counter unfortunately was not skilled in good customer service. The establishment was clean, very well lit, and relatively safe. Wings were good! Definitely have had better but they hit my cravings spot. I got the lemon pepper & they had a good lemon flavor to them, they used a very oily sauce as you can see in my picture. Wings were small but had a good crunch on the outside. I had to add salt to my fries because there wasn't any. Overall, I would come here again if I really wanted wings and was in a time crunch. Chicken hibachi is a great deal. I can usually get two meals out of an order. I also like their wings. Not the largest, but they are season crusted, and have unusual flavors like honey lemon pepper or honey pepper garlic. read more

Bottom line: Okay wings, okay price, but unreliable service. Only true wing joint in town, but some local pizza stops and even breweries around also have good wings. I'll try them next. I put this order in through UberEats pickup, attempting to time its completion in a series of quick errands around town. I arrive within a minute of the estimated time and PERFECTLY as I open the door, the app says "Your food is ready" (LIES!). The staff didn't recognize my name, I told them it was an UberEats pickup. They told me I was at the wrong location, I showed them the order on my phone screen with their address. It became apparent they hadn't started cooking my food (best laid plans...). Their explanation? "UberEats orders don't print a ticket for us to start cooking." I had to type this review, because.... I will continue to be confused by that statement, probably forever. Best wings in Athens hands down but DO NOT order them for the super bowl. Called 2 days in advance, gave time would like to pick up still waited over an hour past pick up time. They had no idea who ordered what, most people said no on took their name when ordering. Owner refused to let people cancel and get refunds because it was an absolute disaster. Owner left while restaurant was full of dissatisfied customers to let employees fend for themselves but apparenlty that doesn't matter because he doesn't speak any english and can't help anyone anyways so he just took peoples money and refused any refunds because he runs a sh*t show. read more

Terrible customer service even before this place closed down before reopening. Every single time we are there, there is an issue. Either I am given an attitude by the cashier or they are not picking up the phone. My husband and I came to give this place a second try after reopening and no one greeted us nor was there a person standing up at the front counter. There seemed to be people sitting writing off job applications behind us and we were clearly waiting for someone for about 10 minutes. The cooks in the back gave us eye contact multiple times but never said a word. Nothing. We walked out and nobody even blinked an eye. I could give negative stars if I could. I am giving a two star for the food and a ZERO for the service. Wings were small, sauce was tasty. Fried rice was ok. Maybe its just this location. The overall experience will not have me coming back. One of the ladies who assisted us (seemed to be training and was very helpful) however, the one lady standing with her arms crossed the entire time only knows how to say NO. Very unpleasant. This used to be Teriyaki 101 in the small Shopping Center in front of Lowe's. I have eaten at Teriyaki 101 dozens of times in the past which had excellent reviews at first and then quickly degraded. This is my second time eating at this restaurant under the new name J Buffalo Wings. Both visits I ordered a 10-piece combo with house fried rice. The wings had lemon pepper seasoning which was good, but can be strong if the wings sit in the sauce for a long time and the house fried rice was excellent! I was sad to see during my last visit that there was no one inside eating. During my entire 30 minutes I was there I was the only one in the restaurant dining. There were a few call-ins, but it was a bad sign to see that at 7 p.m. dinner time the restaurant was slow on a Tuesday evening. Since the transition from Teriyaki 101 there have been some changes. Not all of these changes however are for the best and I recommend management to make some of these changes back to improve customer experience and hopefully also improve repeat business. First I think that in today's age providing bottled water should be a necessary requirement for any restaurant. So many people want to drink healthy, but do not want to drink the city water coming out of the soda fountain. For the amount of money a pack of water cost at Sam's and the resale value of bottled water alone makes it silly not to sell bottled water. Even at a dollar a bottle you can make excellent margins. Sure you may have to get a frigerator to keep the water cold if you don't already have one, but it would help trust me. Second, to upgrade to house fried rice is now $2 instead of $1. I also find this is a ridiculous change because the amount of meat in the fried rice is not enough to warrant a $2 increase. Actually since J Buffalo has taken over the amount of meat in the fried rice is definitely less. The fried rice however is still good so I'm not knocking how good the fried rice was, but if I'm going to pay $2 more for house fried rice I expect to have $2 worth more of meat in my fried rice. Third, when the restaurant is as dead as it was when I was there I highly recommend that the person working the front counter to check on the guests to see if everything is fine and if they can get them anything. When I see a tip jar by the cashier I expect extra work to be done by the cashier otherwise please remove the tip jar. Lastly, the phone. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to call to place an order to pick up when the phone was never answered. While I was there dining in this time the phone rang a couple times and it took them forever to pick up the phone and there was no one in the restaurant other than myself who was already eating. Takeout orders is a big part of any restaurant especially a restaurant with a menu like J Buffalo Wings. Management seriously needs to do a better job of having the phones answered and orders taken. So with all that said I like the food, and don't want the restaurant to close because it really is good. Now I can't vouch for the other kinds of food because I've never ordered anything other than the wings and the fried rice and both of those are really good. So management please address my concerns as I'm sure I'm not the only one. If you do this you just may be able to make this a successful location. read more

The person working there was clueless and the manager refused to honor the deal printed on their flyer with their address on it. I did not feel like arguing with the manager and told him I would go somewhere else for diner. He said fine and did not even care that he lost a customer for life. This place was much better when it was Teriyaki 101. You used to be able to walk in and order a bowl and be out in 5 mins. Now everything is special ordered and takes 20+ mins even when it's not busy. The flavor isn't there anymore and it's so pricey for what you get. Very little meat and veggies and a big pile of tasteless rice. The Spicy Korean chicken used to be my favorite but now the chicken is overcooked and barely any sauce on it at all. I had originally asked for double veggies and no rice and the cashier looked at me like I had 3 heads. Very disappointing. read more
