This place used to be good. That is why I chose to pay the ridiculous GrubHub price of $16.24 plus deliver charge (and tip) instead of the in store price of $12.99. $43.57 total for two combo meals that neither of us could eat, and believe me ... we tried. Both the boneless and regular wings were tough and dry. Imagine eating beef jerky covered in wing sauce. I'm pretty sure the French fries were prepared in an oven, and weren't seasoned. Could eat those either. It's off putting that the prices are high but completely unacceptable that the food was so bad that we couldn't eat it. It's possible that J Buffalo at Alps just an incompetent person in the kitchen last night. I know that Athens restaurants usually put better people on lunch shifts and dinner staff can be combinations of incompetent employees with little to no supervision. That's just an assumption. I don't know if our food wasn't edible because it was poorly prepared or if the owners are cutting corners with cheaper food. We visited the Athen's location recently. We ate many times at the Roswell location over the years. The place is rather small but they serve good food here. I had the gyro with fries. The gyro was good and the fries perfectly cooked. My wife had crispy medium wings with house fried rice. Her order was enough for two meals. She said next time she would not order the wings crispy because she thought they were a little dry. She said they had great flavor. This is a review update. For clarity sake I have kept my original review below this one just in case y'all are curious where I started with J. buffalo. Where to even begin. This place use to be me and my boyfriends favorite wing place in town. If you ordered your wings extra crispy they brought them out to you to test. Recently they hired new people and things have been downhill from there. I tried giving them multiple chances but tonight was the last straw. The last couple times my boyfriend and I have been his food will come out or mine will come out like 20 minutes before the other one. For the record- we order the same thing! Tonight was by far the worst though. We come in and are standing in line for 15 minutes while the red haired rude cashier woman answers 3 telephone to go orders in a row while completely ignoring us and other customers. Finally she gets to us and we order our food. I explain how we like our wings extra crispy and to please bring them out like they use to so we can make sure they are crispy enough. She assures me that they always do and have been doing so more lately because there's been so many problems with the extra crispy orders not being crispy enough. I point out that she was our cashier last time and she said the same exact thing then and it didn't happen. She assures me it will this time and I don't want to be THAT person, so I let it go. What happens? Half our order comes out 15 minutes before and she looks at it and is going to leave it to get cold while she waits for the rest. My boyfriend had to go up and ask for it. Then our order comes out- they DIDN'T bring the wings out to be tested like she said they would and obviously they are not crispy at all. I would let things like this go, but since I SPECIFICALLY commented (as urged my The OWNER of store to do so) on making sure they were brought out in the beginning I went and spoke to her about it. She yells in the back for the owner to come out. I calmly explain to him how I ordered them extra crispy and requested that they get brought out to Test( as they told me to do last time this happened). I didn't call her names or be rude or anything. It wasn't her fault. I didn't think it was her fault. It was just a miscommunication. Well this rude red haired cashier woman goes FULL PSYCHO on me. Starts trash talking me. Starts pacing and trash talking me to other customers who are helplessly just trying to order. When they finally order and sit she calls her friend ON HER PHONE- WHILE AT WORK- BEHIND THE COUNTER- and starts trash talking me there. By the end of this I had lost my appetite. I was scared to go wash my hands because of how irrational she was being. Maybe she would try to hit me or yell at me. I felt unsafe, unwelcome, dissatisfied and I will NOT be going back. Get it together J. buffalo!!! J. Buffalo is literally the best wing place I have ever been too. I will go ahead and say that I did not like wings until I had them here. The wings are medium size which I like best because they are not unnaturally huge with thick nasty skin. They really take care of you! If you ask for them to be crispy they take care to make them crispy for you. They will literally bring the wings or for you to feel to make sure they are done enough to your liking. I have never had a bad sauce at J Buffaloand they have incredibly good prices. 10/10 would recommend and will always be back! read more

The staff wasn't awful but really had no customer service skills, the cashier was on her phone and honestly kind of rude. He grabbed his order in 5 seconds and as he was walking out, one of the employees unloaded on him. She was screaming at him & all the guy said was, "sorry I'll wear a mask next time." He even held the door open for the next customer walking in. The food industry is hard & enforcing mask rules is fair but being a jerk to customers just because you're not having a nice day isn't okay. My family and I stumbled on this place tonight after realizing buffolos has shut down. The prices were very reasonable. I had ten wings and shrimp lo mein with a drink for about $11. The food is delicious. We ordered the teriyaki, extra hot, lemon pepper, and medium wings. They were on the small side (as stated in other review) but meaty. The fried rice and lo mein had a nice selection of veggies in it. More then the usual peas and carrots. It had green peppers, bean sprouts, and broccoli to name a few veggies. We left very full. The presentation of food was nice and the restaurant was nice and clean. We will be back again. read more

I had barbecue chicken wings, and that was with fried rice with vegetables. The wings were hot, so I could tell they were cooked fresh. With a drink, the total cost was 11 dollars. The establishment delivers. For anyone having a football party I highly recommend ordering the wings. Get a pizza from mellow mushroom, and you will have the best party food ever. While I was eating, the employees were cleaning where they could. The restroom was clean. I do have one suggestion, and that is to leave all the televisions to sports channels. Athens is the football capital of Georgia, so you need sports on your televisions, not TMZ. My husband and I went to this location last night because it came highly recommended for their wings. The wings were good, particularly for the price, the time we waited for food was pretty standard as were the fries and fried shrimp which tasted as though they came from the Costco frozen section. Unfortunately everything else about the trip leaves much to be desired. Customer service was not the highest priority of anyone we encountered and the rest of the food was well below par. In short, there is a long list of places we will go in town for wings before we return here. The food arrived in a timely fashion but my fried rice was so burnt it was not edible. My husband said something about tasting lighter fluid, though I did not taste that. I don't return food when eating out, but I took this back to the counter, where I found the person we ordered from crouching behind the counter, on her phone. I waited for at least 40 seconds before she even acknowledged that I was standing there and she didn't bother taking out her earbuds before asking what I wanted. I told her the issue and offered to take fries instead, which cost $2 less than the rice I ordered, but that was apparently not possible because of the cost difference, and they refired my chicken fried rice. When it was done, she stood at the counter and hollered, "Hey! Excuse me!" instead of walking the 20 feet to bring it to my table. It was still inedible, though there weren't flecks of burnt stuff throughout making clear that some effort was made to fix the issue. Fresh selections on the menu too! I hadn't been to J. Buffalo over between Menchee's and Your Pie at Beechwood in a while. Just exhausted from a killer day at work, I craved a salad and ordered one. Maybe it didn't take that long to get grilled chicken on a variety of fresh vegetables, I shouldn't be trusted to tell time when I'm dead on my feet. When they handed me the little plastic container, I felt disappointed. But that frown turned upside down - the salad was amazing! It was a very generous portion of grilled chicken and when I got that salad into a bowl, it was enormous: lettuce, broccoli, onions, tomato, mushrooms, banana peppers, carrots - so good. Don't overlook that place. They're closed on Sundays and seem unorganized, but that salad was good. I've also had the gyro - excellent. Great Z sauce -impressively fresh vegetables. After my husband got home with our order. We realized they gave us two regular chicken patty sandwiches instead of the two mild buffalo chicken sandwiches that we ordered. When I called we were told that we could drive the food back (the 20 minutes). If we did not drive the food back they would refuse to better their mistake. After I asked to speak to a manager the lady informed me that there was no one else to talk to, and again if we did not drive the food back the would not do anything for us.
