The wings were decent, but the Philly cheesesteak was the standout--really flavorful and satisfying. Not a big fan of the crinkle fries, though--they weren't very crisp. Overall, good spot for a casual meal with generous portions. read more

Normally I have no problem with this establishment. However today the female that answered the phone was very unprofessional. Talking to me , someone in the restaurant and then put me on hold to answer another line and then hung up on me! Overheard her cursing prior to her hanging up on me. Tried calling back with no answer. Ended up going in the restaurant placing the order and waiting which is what I didn't want to do by placing an order via the phone to go! Very loud even while waiting for my order. Sitting at the register LOUD cursing doing absolutely nothing while the owner was actually working taking orders ! Fire her and get someone professional! read more

This place used to be good. That is why I chose to pay the ridiculous GrubHub price of $16.24 plus deliver charge (and tip) instead of the in store price of $12.99. $43.57 total for two combo meals that neither of us could eat, and believe me ... we tried. Both the boneless and regular wings were tough and dry. Imagine eating beef jerky covered in wing sauce. I'm pretty sure the French fries were prepared in an oven, and weren't seasoned. Could eat those either. It's off putting that the prices are high but completely unacceptable that the food was so bad that we couldn't eat it. It's possible that J Buffalo at Alps just an incompetent person in the kitchen last night. I know that Athens restaurants usually put better people on lunch shifts and dinner staff can be combinations of incompetent employees with little to no supervision. That's just an assumption. I don't know if our food wasn't edible because it was poorly prepared or if the owners are cutting corners with cheaper food. What I do know is that $43.57 is too much to pay for food that you can't eat. read more

Omg. I don't know what the secret is at this location but they are consistently THE BEST wings I've ever had. Like every single time, exactly the same, 100% perfection. Add fried rice to the wing combo and it's possible this is the best meal on Earth. No exaggeration, I don't review often, but when I do I prefer J Buffalo on Alps. Ps. I would've posted a pic but I already ate half and only stopped to write this review. read more

Ordered 2 Piece Whiting Combo. Came with fish, fries, 2 hush puppies, coleslaw and drink. Customer Service was very good and inside was clean. The fish was just okay, fries were fine, coleslaw and hush puppies were not good. I wouldn't buy this combo again. However, I will return to try the wings. read more

J Buffalo Wings - 2 piece Whiting Fish Combo. Lightly fried. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Athens, Georgia

We visited the Athen's location recently. We ate many times at the Roswell location over the years. The place is rather small but they serve good food here. I had the gyro with fries. The gyro was good and the fries perfectly cooked. My wife had crispy medium wings with house fried rice. Her order was enough for two meals. She said next time she would not order the wings crispy because she thought they were a little dry. She said they had great flavor. The person who took our order was very personable and quite helpful throughout the meal. read more

This was a pure dissapoing place to get wings for gameday! they were like fried pork rinds no meat on the tiny wings, services was awful, charged 5.00 for extra sause and 1 diet coke . never again in Athens of all places read more

My boyfriend loves the wings and fried rice here, and now I know why. We got carry out while I was in town, and I've gotta give credit to the delicious fried rice. I got the steak and cheese sub with fries, but should have listened to my bf and got the wings. The spicy wings had a hint of korean spicy paste and the teriyaki was sweet and yummy. Great price and good tasting food. They are still doing take out until the county allows restaurants to start dine-in again. Food was ready within 15 mins... and they have strawberry Fanta (: read more

The wings here are always great and the friend rice combo gives a lot of rice. My go-to wing spot in Athens

Probably some of the best wings in Athens. A little pricy, but never a disappointment.

I hate to leave a negative review but honestly the food was so bad. A lot of complaints about the service on the other reviews but figured we would give it a try. The front counter person was abrupt but friendly enough. The food tho..... I took one bite of the teriyaki chicken and couldn't eat any more it was so bad I don't think it was cooked all the way. My kids and I are the fried rice it was barely okay but we really should have just thrown it out. We all felt sick after. read more

Ordered the 10 piece lemon pepper wings all flats with vegetable rice. Vegetable rice was cooked to perfection, seasoned well enough that I didn't need the white sauce. I had the wing combo and selected the chicken fried rice instead of fries (cost is the same) and comes with a beverage. The wings and rice were good the rice had more than just peas and carrots in it which I like. They have a great menu selection from fried fish to Gyros. They are off of Alps Road in Athens next to Menchies across from the Chick fil A. read more

This is a review update. For clarity sake I have kept my original review below this one just in case y'all are curious where I started with J. buffalo. Where to even begin. This place use to be me and my boyfriends favorite wing place in town. If you ordered your wings extra crispy they brought them out to you to test. Recently they hired new people and things have been downhill from there. I tried giving them multiple chances but tonight was the last straw. The last couple times my boyfriend and I have been his food will come out or mine will come out like 20 minutes before the other one. For the record- we order the same thing! Tonight was by far the worst though. We come in and are standing in line for 15 minutes while the red haired rude cashier woman answers 3 telephone to go orders in a row while completely ignoring us and other customers. Finally she gets to us and we order our food. I explain how we like our wings extra crispy and to please bring them out like they use to so we can make sure they are crispy enough. She assures me that they always do and have been doing so more lately because there's been so many problems with the extra crispy orders not being crispy enough. I point out that she was our cashier last time and she said the same exact thing then and it didn't happen. She assures me it will this time and I don't want to be THAT person, so I let it go. What happens? Half our order comes out 15 minutes before and she looks at it and is going to leave it to get cold while she waits for the rest. My boyfriend had to go up and ask for it. Then our order comes out- they DIDN'T bring the wings out to be tested like she said they would and obviously they are not crispy at all. I would let things like this go, but since I SPECIFICALLY commented (as urged my The OWNER of store to do so) on making sure they were brought out in the beginning I went and spoke to her about it. She yells in the back for the owner to come out. I calmly explain to him how I ordered them extra crispy and requested that they get brought out to Test( as they told me to do last time this happened). I didn't call her names or be rude or anything. It wasn't her fault. I didn't think it was her fault. It was just a miscommunication. Well this rude red haired cashier woman goes FULL PSYCHO on me. Starts trash talking me. Starts pacing and trash talking me to other customers who are helplessly just trying to order. When they finally order and sit she calls her friend ON HER PHONE- WHILE AT WORK- BEHIND THE COUNTER- and starts trash talking me there. By the end of this I had lost my appetite. I was scared to go wash my hands because of how irrational she was being. Maybe she would try to hit me or yell at me. I felt unsafe, unwelcome, dissatisfied and I will NOT be going back. Get it together J. buffalo!!! J. Buffalo is literally the best wing place I have ever been too. I will go ahead and say that I did not like wings until I had them here. The wings are medium size which I like best because they are not unnaturally huge with thick nasty skin. They really take care of you! If you ask for them to be crispy they take care to make them crispy for you. They will literally bring the wings or for you to feel to make sure they are done enough to your liking. I have never had a bad sauce at J Buffaloand they have incredibly good prices. 10/10 would recommend and will always be back! read more

I will NEVER come back to this location again. Entirely to much sauce. My wings were literally floating in my plate. Disgusting. It was so much sauce that it spilled into my bag which got all over my car by the way. WORST of all my wings were SOGGY!! Eew!! This location Definitely gives J buffalo a bad name read more

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner today and If someone asked me to describe the experience in total I would call it mediocre. The staff wasn't awful but really had no customer service skills, the cashier was on her phone and honestly kind of rude. The fries tasted like they were fresh out of a microwave, super soggy, no salt or anything. The wings were like I said, mediocre. I ordered extra crispy and they clearly were not. The teriyaki sauce did not even taste like teriyaki. They were weird. The fried rice was mediocre, not bad but just kinda tasted like mall Chinese food. Disappointing. read more

J Buffalo Wings - Not so extra crispy boneless wings - Chicken Wings Near Me - Athens, Georgia

Every time I walk in here the staff is yelling at a customer. Today I chose to finally leave a review because I saw a delivery driver walk in without a mask as I was waiting. He grabbed his order in 5 seconds and as he was walking out, one of the employees unloaded on him. She was screaming at him & all the guy said was, "sorry I'll wear a mask next time." He even held the door open for the next customer walking in. The food industry is hard & enforcing mask rules is fair but being a jerk to customers just because you're not having a nice day isn't okay. There's so many great wings places in Athens, but if you like subpar wings and terrible customer service come here. read more

My family and I stumbled on this place tonight after realizing buffolos has shut down. The prices were very reasonable. I had ten wings and shrimp lo mein with a drink for about $11. The food is delicious. We ordered the teriyaki, extra hot, lemon pepper, and medium wings. They were on the small side (as stated in other review) but meaty. The fried rice and lo mein had a nice selection of veggies in it. More then the usual peas and carrots. It had green peppers, bean sprouts, and broccoli to name a few veggies. We left very full. The presentation of food was nice and the restaurant was nice and clean. We will be back again. read more

With the name of a food that is served in an establishments name, the food better be spectacular, and the wings were rather spectacular. I had barbecue chicken wings, and that was with fried rice with vegetables. The wings were hot, so I could tell they were cooked fresh. With a drink, the total cost was 11 dollars. The establishment delivers. For anyone having a football party I highly recommend ordering the wings. Get a pizza from mellow mushroom, and you will have the best party food ever. While I was eating, the employees were cleaning where they could. The restroom was clean. I do have one suggestion, and that is to leave all the televisions to sports channels. Athens is the football capital of Georgia, so you need sports on your televisions, not TMZ. Athens is not the city for giving your customers updates on Kim Kardashian, when the first football game of the season is on Saturday. read more

My husband and I went to this location last night because it came highly recommended for their wings. The wings were good, particularly for the price, the time we waited for food was pretty standard as were the fries and fried shrimp which tasted as though they came from the Costco frozen section. Unfortunately everything else about the trip leaves much to be desired. Customer service was not the highest priority of anyone we encountered and the rest of the food was well below par. In short, there is a long list of places we will go in town for wings before we return here. The food arrived in a timely fashion but my fried rice was so burnt it was not edible. My husband said something about tasting lighter fluid, though I did not taste that. I don't return food when eating out, but I took this back to the counter, where I found the person we ordered from crouching behind the counter, on her phone. I waited for at least 40 seconds before she even acknowledged that I was standing there and she didn't bother taking out her earbuds before asking what I wanted. I told her the issue and offered to take fries instead, which cost $2 less than the rice I ordered, but that was apparently not possible because of the cost difference, and they refired my chicken fried rice. When it was done, she stood at the counter and hollered, "Hey! Excuse me!" instead of walking the 20 feet to bring it to my table. It was still inedible, though there weren't flecks of burnt stuff throughout making clear that some effort was made to fix the issue. As a result of the last interaction I gave up and skipped eating half of my meal instead of trying again. read more

Rude AF. We arrived at 9:30 to grab something quick and the cashier told us to rush. They close at 10. TF.

Fresh selections on the menu too! I hadn't been to J. Buffalo over between Menchee's and Your Pie at Beechwood in a while. Just exhausted from a killer day at work, I craved a salad and ordered one. Maybe it didn't take that long to get grilled chicken on a variety of fresh vegetables, I shouldn't be trusted to tell time when I'm dead on my feet. When they handed me the little plastic container, I felt disappointed. But that frown turned upside down - the salad was amazing! It was a very generous portion of grilled chicken and when I got that salad into a bowl, it was enormous: lettuce, broccoli, onions, tomato, mushrooms, banana peppers, carrots - so good. Don't overlook that place. They're closed on Sundays and seem unorganized, but that salad was good. I've also had the gyro - excellent. Great Z sauce -impressively fresh vegetables. I'm not a fan of the lo mein, too oily for me, but I'll be back next time I'm too tired to make my own salad. read more

Absolutely love this place. Great sauce choices and the fried rice is some of the best I've ever had. I can't speak for everything but the wings have been great when we've been and the gyro was good as well. Lacks a little in the decor and such so that's why I can't give it 5 stars. read more

After my husband got home with our order. We realized they gave us two regular chicken patty sandwiches instead of the two mild buffalo chicken sandwiches that we ordered. When I called we were told that we could drive the food back (the 20 minutes). If we did not drive the food back they would refuse to better their mistake. After I asked to speak to a manager the lady informed me that there was no one else to talk to, and again if we did not drive the food back the would not do anything for us. So after a $23 meal for myself and my husband we will no longer be going back. Such horrible service!! We have eaten here four other times, such a disappointing experience. read more

I have visited this place twice in December, Yummy. I had the Gyro both times. This place is clean. Both times I saw the staff cleaning the machines and surfaces in the dining area. The food was microwaved. When I called to let the business know they informed me since they were slow that day there was no need to use the microwave-- so nothing was wrong with my meal and promptly hung up on me. Either way, not a way to treat customers. It's dissapointing because we used to get wings there all the time. read more
