Bunch of different food trucks together makes for great selection
    Ilona S.

Multiple food trucks with different offerings. Shade provided on this hot day by the pub overhang. Nice place to have a lunch. I had the Iraqi chicken sandwich which was huge and flavorful. My husband had to help me eat it. Definitely worth stopping here.

Our first visit today and so happy we stopped! There are options to sit inside or out. We decided to sit indoors and really like the new building, bar and bathrooms. The only challenge we had was finding a place to park. Lots of beer choices on tap as well as wine, mixed drinks and sodas. The food truck options were amazing! Anything you may want. Our group ordered chicken curry and naan, vegetarian pasta and a chicken sandwich with fries. The service at every food truck was excellent as was the food. We will be back!

This was my first time trying this food truck at Checkpoint 221 and the smell coming out the window alone should convince you to eat here. Menu had a ton of tasty looking options but the chicken saj plate was the right call. Enough salad veggies to feel moderately healthy, enough fries to hit the spot and flatbread wrap with amazing sauce and tender chicken. It had 4 big pieces so I brought some home and even leftover it was a hit. Service was excellent as well, personable and pleasant. Highly recommend!

New, Clean, spacious with a decent variety of food carts. Just to be clear I don't enjoy writing bad reviews and truly don't intend to hurt a business but as a consumer I want to help others not waste their hard earned money or their time like I do from time to time. With that, this was my first time here and I'm sure I'll be back to try some of the other options but I will not be ordering from the Philly cheese steak cart. As you can see from the picture my Philly was loaded with,...... steak! Yea right. I pulled about half the onions off my sandwich after the first bite was a mouth full of onions, not the mention the mediocre bun and flavorless beef. I mean I don't think they used salt or pepper when they cooked it. Also the cheese was definitely not of the wiz variety which if I'm not mistaken that's what makes a Philly a Philly?? It was some flavorless white cheese in the shape of provolone but literally had no flavor. 14$ for 1.5oz of beef and half of a large grilled diced onion. I won't be doing that again and I would highly recommend you don't either.

Newest food truck pod with indoor and outdoor seating (plenty of shade). Ive tried a few of the offerings with mixed results. There are limited vegetarian choices and except for The Salty Shack, which I do not recommend, there are no fish or shrimp choices if you are pescatarian. I had high hopes for The Salty Shack, but it is pricey for what you get and the clam chowder is just terrible. La Argentina has a very yummy Caprese empanada which I do recommend! Quesadilla Wizzards no longer has any vegetarian choices, which is a shame because I think they have quality ingredients and a good origin story, and cheesy veggie quesadillas are easy to make. Today I ordered a pesto and tomato grilled cheese and sweet potato fries from Carver's Diner - The fries were excellent, A+ fried to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and hot. I am definitely coming back for another order of these! The grilled cheese was less than expected, kinda soggy, kinda bland. Finally, cheers to the Checkpoint 221 bartender who was friendly and hard-working.

    Some of the food carts.

Every kind of food imaginable is available and a great setting for eating. Good for families, good for singles.

Staff is terribly rude. Venue is loud and the building is not clean. The parking is abysmal. Food trucks are good.

The local beer options were excellent , and Corbyn (who waited on us) was so great with information on pairings and recommendations with orders. The beignets are sinful. There should be no way on this big blue, green, white, brown marble we call Earth, that the only place in the world that makes the most incredible beignets is located 700 miles from where I reside. It's not fair. Do yourself a favor if you're visiting. Go in. Bask in the music curated by the staff, enjoy local beers. Savor the most incredible fried chicken since before Harland Sanders sold out. And most of all, indulge in all of the glory that is the multiple varieties of beignets that will make you hope there is an afterlife. And that if you've been a solid person, and karma smiles on you, the view you see from your resting space is whatever beach, lake, mountain, stream, river or desert that brought you peace, and a massive plate of said beignets.

The Cajun biscuits and gravy had a lil spice to it but was reasonable for a white girl. The biscuit itself was house and exceptional. The gravy was very rich and a little on the thick side. The sausage bits were a little overdone but wonderful flavor, I personally like them A little charred. Coffee was a 10/10, it's just a hot black coffee but they provide a cute little serving of half and half. Plus, it's free refills so yay, love that! The staff were nice, helpful, attentive, and I dare say fashionable I think my two favorite things about this place are: 1. Small menu. Are you just a girl in the world suffering from decision fatigue? Come here. Menu seems to be seasonal as well. 2. The vibe is so cute, otter portraits and decor, elegant colors, and excellent music for everyone. Biggest draw back: food is a little heavy ‍ but makes the soul light I would come here again!

We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. This dish was my favorite - Honey brined pork chop with a basque piperade sauce The servers were all great about checking in. I would definitely recommend the squid ink pasta and the clams if you're in town!

Y E L P : Fork Forty Food Hall Restaurant & Food Review…read more Ventured to Fork Forty Food Hall for lunch yesterday for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. As food halls are all the craze, it was pretty cool to learn that Fork Forty is Salem's first food hall. It is a cozy food hall featuring six of Salem's best eateries in the historic Gray-Building - which I also learned is a building that has a long history of eateries that have occupied its spaces over the years. So, it's only natural that this food hall graced this historic building. What a unique legacy to be a part of. All that Google-worthy factoids aside, I must say, I really loved the industrial feel of the space. Loved the use of blacks and white - which allowed the food vendors signage to really stand out and pop against the darker field colors. Also, the food hall itself wasn't too busy - especially for lunchtime. So, that was great because the wait time for the food was minimal. The food hall was lively, clean and had ample seating. There is a water station with cups for patrons that want water only. There's also a bar within the food hall - so, if you wanted some libations with your eats, that was also an option. All in all, it's a great spot with various cuisines. There's enough to tickle your fancy pending what you have a taste for. Some of the cuisines range from Mexican, Asian, and Mediterranean cuisine to name a few. I opted for the Mexican vendor, Suzy's Taqueria, and I am so happy I went with them because they did not disappoint. The food was fresh and the price point was great!! Very affordable lunch prices. (**Visit Suzy's Taqueria page to see my review on their street tacos.**) Since this is a food hall, I didn't really interact with the staff as much. My order was placed at a kiosk - which had no wait time. Once my order was placed, the wait for the tacos to prepared was less than 10 minutes. The server brought them out to my table - which was my only interaction with the staff. So, that's about as much as I can speak on that. However, all interactions, though minimal, were very pleasant. For a first visit, I was pleased. I will definitely visit again before my departure from Salem to try out the bao spot or the pizzeria. Also, the history of it, is pretty cool!
