I was in the area and stopped by for a quick lunch when I came across Checkers. You don't see this fast-food chain around very often, so I decided to give it a try for a grab-and-go meal. I ordered their $5 combo, which featured the new Pretzel Pubster Burger with a small soda and fries. While ordering, I noticed they also had $1 wings available in honey garlic or spicy sauce, so I added an order of wings as well. Unfortunately, the burger was a letdown. It lacked flavor, and the bun was overly thick, throwing off the balance. I wasn't a fan of the barbecue pretzel Buford overall. You don't see too many Checkers in Queens if any so having a chance to stop here was a good thing. I'm not too familiar with their menu but I got something along the lines of a bacanotor. I'm sure that wasn't the name but something to that effect. Service was good. It wasn't busy but it went quick. I got my combo meal to go. It was during the pandemic so dining in wasn't an option. I only use the drive through for this Checkers location. So this review is specifically for the drive thru I believe every Rosedale native was excited when we found out Checkers would be coming to our neighborhood. They certainly didn't disappoint. I barely come here because I'm not a huge checkers fan anymore. If I do, it's for my husband or someone else. The line is never long. I don't remember the last time I had to wait. Yes, it's fast food, but it's so...Greasy and salty. I wouldn't recommend their loaded fries, it's a salt bomb. It's also kinda expensive for the portion, not big enough to share, but you should since its so unhealthy. They have a lot of cheap deals for their burgers. I only tried half a burger from this Checkers location, I desperately needed the calories at the time. I can't comment on how it tasted, since I was so sick, all I tasted was salt and grease, I had to force myself just to eat half of it. I've only been to Checkers 3 times in my life and usually it's for the calories or the lack of options in the area. I don't really like the taste, it's too greasy. This Checkers is awesome. The food is always fresh and the customer service is excellent. This is one of the few places that I've been that has a consistent track record with great customer service. They are nice today and you can expect them to be nice tomorrow. I'm always greeted with a smile. They also move quickly. And as quick as they move I've never had any sloppy burgers or sandwiches. So this was my very first time trying checkers & I've gotta say I loved it. The food is so cheap and so good! They have a value menu where you can get 2 burgers for $4 or $6 or $8! I had the fry lovers burger & the bacon cheddar crisp. I also had the funnel cake for dessert, it tasted so yummy and was only $1.62. My sister, her boyfriend, and mine loved the place too. Me and my mother love coming here for Chili cheese fries! I had a bad experience with a nasty associate and manager who refused to fix our order and made us pay extra for our missing food. First I want to say this. If using the lobby for food parents or even adults be careful as you are crossing or may be walking on a active drive thru. Hold those lil ones hands or keep your eyes open for vehicles. Driveway is tight as of configuration and has parking for maybe 6 cars. So when I went was a line for drive thru. I used lobby service as I despise a drive thru. Lobby was clean and well light. Clerk was super friendly. Food was great. I had a big buford loaded fries spicy wings and shake. Heck was 11pm had a 2 hr drive to get home. I will say this as its a new establishment and it takes time for employees to gel as a team. Check your items as it was a few errors in patrons food. The worse service I've ever received here. The girl taking orders at the drive thru has a very nasty attitude as if she doesn't feel like working today. I asked for fresh food even said I would wait. From the menu board to the window with no one in front of me and was given what was said to be fresh. Went there May 11th around 12:30 am order 2 bacon cheese burger. The first burger with bacon was cooked good. The second burger the bacon was completely raw when I bit into the burger not realizing the bacon wasn't cooked at all. I toss that burger out. If I could give this place no stars I would. I know some restaurants have trouble when they first start deliveries but checkers took the cake in terrible. I placed a order and it didn't get here until 3 hrs later. After the first hour I called to check the status of my order. The man that I spoke to told me it's busy due to all of the online order but my order just left and should arrive shortly. Another hour passes and I call again. The same guy told me the delivery slipped outside and all of the food is dirty. He stated that they sent him out again with a fresh order and he should be here in 10 to 15 minutes. Another hour and I finally receive a call from the delivery man. When I looked through three bags. It was disgusting. The burgers looked like it was stepped on and the sundae container was empty. It split all over the bag. It look like they placed a empty container in the bag with some milk and sugar and shook it up and called it a "sundae". I went here yesterday with my kids we ordered a Baconzilla meal, and 2 5pc wing meals, (basically 3 combo's) and 2 apple pies it came to $27.06 I thought it was a little pricey for a burger and chicken wings, the burger was good as well as the seasoned fries and the mild chicken wings, the girl at the Drive Through window (Jazz) was REALLY nice and handled the busy window with ease.
