Was my first time at checkers... we don't have one back home but the worker was very rude. I don't remember his name but it was an older guy. We went to the drive thru, the worker told us to pick it up on the side. We knocked the window and the older guy worker got mad for whatever reason. The lady that was there was nice but again, I don't recall their names. Food was nothing special so overall it was a bad experience because of the rude worker. I don't normally write about a fast food place, as Yelpers are more of an elite group (see what I did there?), but I'm a secret fast foodie, Checkers and Arby's being my mainstays. After eating right and going to the gym all week, I figured it was about time to cheat, so I went to see what Checkers had and to finally try a "caramel cheesecake" stacker. First I had the new $2 steak loaded fries, expecting them to have a few specks of meat. WRONG. They were truly loaded, the box (see pic) was, in fact, loaded full of their delicious fries, Philly style steak pieces, sauteed red onions and a deliciously seasoned brown gravy. The stacker was another story, I'll start from the top down. The top had a large dollop of what appeared to be old style vanilla ice cream (know how it's more yellowish than whitish?), but I assume was actually supposed to be whipped cream. At any rate it was gross and after timidly tasting, I threw it out. Next was some really thick "caramel", again not sure what it was, but unlike any caramel I've had and some sort of "chocolate dipped graham cracker" bits (maybe?), which stuck to tops and sides of my teeth, akin to Butterfinger. Then the frozen ice milk which had zero cheesecake flavor, but was good and at the bottom some ill-advised fudge, which was also good. Saturday at 2:45pm I ordered a hamburger and after paying was told to drive around to the other window to pick up my order. After driving to the other window there were two other cars waiting for their orders, I waited 15 minutes before getting to to window and order was still not ready. All this time they are serving the window where I started while we were waiting on the other side and forgotten. Finally I gave up and asked for a refund and left without anything. Oh! I don't usually leave negative reviews but ..... I used to visit this location on occasion and they were always great. Friendly and reasonably fast. But the last 2 times I've been through the drive through they were CRAZY SLOW. At least the first time it happened (I seriously sat in the drive through for about 25 minutes) the teenager at the window was apologetic. But today it was again super slow and the person at the window did not say a word to me. Not a word. She didn't really look like she was having a bad day. She more came off as just not caring. Complaining about service at a fast food restaurant? I wouldn't be the first. I usually go to this location, as it is the closest Checkers near me. I've been getting poor customer service several times, but it had never really bothered me so much before, I just usually brush it off. This particular time, however, compelled me to write this. My boyfriend and I drove up and ordered meals with chicken tenders and burgers. After paying, the cashier told us to park to they side and they will bring the food to us -- this is routine, they do it every time I come here, I already expect to park to the side even when there's no one behind me. The BF and I were waiting. They were taking longer than their usual 7-10 minutes, which was already unheard of but like I said, I was used to it. 18 minutes later, this young lady pulls up and hands out a bag. Before she could walk away, I notice in the bag that was only one set of fries when we had ordered two meals. The lady rolled her eyes and had shortly returned with more fries. She was quick to disappear after that and my BF noticed that they didn't leave a sauce for his tenders so we pulled up to the window to ask for some. We kindly ask for some ranch and the lady wanted to charge us 75 cents for one small cup. Even when we had told them that we bought tenders, they still insisted on the price. Working in customer service before, I know all about the irrational customers from time to time, so I was calm the entire time I was explaining it to her. But she just threw an attitude from the bat. Anyway, we got our ranch as soon as they realized that we were holding up one of the drive-thru windows and 23 minutes later, we finally got our fast food and drove off. The manager (Amado) was rude and totally disrespectful. After waiting almost 10 minutes in the hot sun (with only 1 other customer there mind you) they finally gave me my order. Showing my lack of enthusiasm after waiting so long, I got to my car and checked the order. Of course they got it wrong. I returned and got my money back and went to McDonalds.
