I stopped by this Checkers in Joliet around 1 AM this morning and had a really disappointing experience. We ordered two double spicy chicken sandwiches, a fish sandwich, and a burger. Unfortunately, the food was nothing like I remember Checkers being. Everything was extremely salty--to the point it was basically inedible--and we ended up throwing most of it out. On top of that, they forgot the apple pie I ordered. What made it worse was the aftermath. The next morning, I woke up with a very upset stomach, and when I spoke with my buddy later, he said he was sick all day as well. Overall, this was a really poor experience. Between the quality of the food, the missing item, and getting sick afterward, I definitely won't be coming back to this location or any Checkers if this is the quality of food and service I will be receiving. read more

You know I have never really been to a Checkers, but we were out in Joliet and came to a corner where our choice was White Castle (which I love) or Checkers (which I didn't have any history with). The Checkers was part and parcel with a gas station on the corner, so you have to get by that. We decided to be bold and try the Checkers - and we are glad we did. We had a cheeseburger (5 star good and really a surprise for flavorful and perfectly done) and a fried chicken sandwich (4 star very good, could only have been a bit crispier but overall excellent). The fries we shared were also good (3 stars as they have that crispy coating some restaurants like to put on them). Since we hit this place right at lunch time, everything was fresh for us. All in all this was an excellent meal. We wouldn't hesitate to stop by again. read more

Power just went out when I was cooking chicken , came here to grab a burger they were polite and patient with my grandmas a zillion requests and the burgers were awesome ! pop was fizzy and fresh and I will be coming back . read more

I try to give this a chance since i used to go here all the time as a kid. Now its gone down hill, every time i go i'm missing an item or its wrong. Tonight they messed up my milkshake and i caught it on time but my fries they messed those up too and for forgot my friends fries as well. I just want a good checkers trip lol read more

Got a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were awesome, hot & fresh. But the burger was terrible. Bun was cold (as other Yelper described too), and the meat was cold like it was pre-cooked in a batch and sitting until ordered. I've had awesome food at other Checkers locations in the past. I'll give this place one more try in the future. read more

It was pretty good and close to what I remember. The fries were great, and the burger was ok. It seemed like the top bun was a little too undertoasted, but other than that there was nothing really bad about it, but it wasn't too spectacular either. The shakes are pretty good too! This location just opened. The drive thru design is the worst I've ever seen. You have to drive around the back of the gas station that it's right next to, and when you pull off from the drive thru window, you're immediately in the gas station parking lot. They have to put up red concrete posts so that you don't hit a gas pump. Awful design. read more

Visited this location to try and redeem my free "Big Buford" or "Classic Mother Clucker". When I arrived at the location the employee at the window got a manager right after I asked to redeem the offer. The manager told me that all coupons need a $1 minimum purchase to be redeemed. After we both reviewed the promotion email and rewards app it was clear there was no mention of a $1 purchase minimum. I called corporate because something seemed fishy. Corporate confirmed that the offer did not require a minimum purchase and this location was lying. Manager was on shift 1/22 @ 2:00pm and straight up lied and tried to hustle me. Checkers - Baconzilla fries. - Burgers Near Me - Joliet, Illinois

Came out here on a whim last night around 11pm. Person taking the order at the drive thru was very polite and patient while taking my order. She did repeat everything back correctly. I ordered the spicy chicken, bacon burger, chicken bites , and a steakzilla. Obviously, not all for me lol. When I got to the window, the young man taking the payment was rather rude, didn't greet me and basically snatched my card and whipped his arm back out the window without a word. When he handed me my drinks his head was turned away from the window completely and almost dropped the drinks. Come on dude I'm not that hideous. You aren't going to turn to stone if you look at me and I do brush my teeth. Anyway, once home I did enjoy the chicken sandwich. Very juicy. Steakzilla was a hit but the bacon burger was horrible. We had a Checkers down the street from my house growing up in Mount Greenwood and then they seemed to disappear in the mid 90's from the area. When we moved to Lockport in 2008, I finally saw one again in Joliet on Jefferson. This location opened up down the street on Cass and I had to take my daughters to it. They LOVE it as much as I do - especially their amazing fries. They blow every other fast food chain out of the water! Plus they have fantastic slushies (from both Kool-Aid and Minute Maid) and their customer service is impeccable as always. I've never had an issue at this location, their parking lot/drive thru is easy to navigate and the food is always fresh and hot. Thrilled to have them back in my life to share with my kids read more

I always get the chicken bites box. I always ask for 2 honey mustards. I'm always reminded that the second will be extra money. Which is perfectly fine. This is now the third time that I did not get any honey mustard. And on top of it the young man at the drive through window was rude. read more

First time I went it was in disappointment. It just doesn't have that rally's/checkers taste. They need to fire all their employees and rehire. They seem like some ignorant motherfuckers working there. Everything tastes OK but don't expect anymore it's another sad story of fast food expanding to the wrong locations. The drive up was very fast almost felt rushed at the ordering menu, when I pulled up to pay the food was already to go which I was surprised since there wasn't a line and I ordered a couple combo meals and loaded fries, but the fries were very good but the burger was cold and that is not good although I give only 3 stars because of a cold burger my daughter says her meal was a five star meal, I will try one more time and then we'll see read more

I was super excited to try this place but after our first time here, unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. The service is SO SLOW. I'm a patient person but first we waited almost 20 minutes for our food (2 burgers and some fries), then there was something missing from our order and we waited at least another 10. Employees were friendly but it seems they are very short staffed. I would've loved to come here again but standing outside waiting 30 minutes for food is unreasonable. read more

Personally one of the best Parm Garlic wings I have ever had. Not even a sauce on them to make hands super dirty. Just perfect. My son love the fries and Bacon Burger and now the wings (I let him try one and he is hooked now). Can't wait till the line goes away. Thank you Checkers for coming to Joliet. read more

Checkers is not the same as it used to be quality control is down some of the workers have attitudes. The food is nothing to write home about. read more
