WARNING: Cheapest Computer Fix is fraudulent and dishonest. I took my laptop in for a broken hinge. Gary (the owner) held onto it for months and made up lies every time I called on why they could not return it to me. I spoke to other staff and they admitted what he said was not true. When I finally got it back, not only was the hinge not fixed, but it wouldn't turn on. The power button was completely broken and I had to have it repaired somewhere else, where I found out CCF had removed other internal components as well. They told me that I gave it to them broken. I filed a lawsuit hoping to recoup some of my losses from the damage they did to my laptop, but they couldn't even find someone to give the summons to and I ended up moving away so I couldn't pursue it. They took my boyfriend's laptop for over three weeks just to say he bought the wrong cover and will have to give him the laptop back IN THE SAME CONDITION! The communication was HORRIBLE! i am unable to review their work.....because they have NEVER returned my calls. Catonsville 4x. Columbia 4x. Just tried Owings Mills.....no answer anywhere.....EVER. Left messages. No returned calls. Their site says you can text them and they will respond PROMPTLY. No response. I filled out the online 'Contact' form......nothing. I would strongly suggest you find another repair company. Took my 1 year old Samsung laptop there because they promise they would diagnosis it the same day. It took over a week for them to tell me what was wrong with it. They said it was the motherboard. Then took 2 more weeks to say they couldn't fix it and another 2 weeks to get my laptop back. The customer service is horrible. They never answer the phone or give complete answers. Two days after finally picking up my labtop I took it to another repair location. He immediately told me what was wrong and it's wasn't the motherboard!!!! and also showed me that Cheapest Computer Fix had never put my hard drive back in my laptop!!!! Short version: In my experience, these guys could not fix a relatively simple problem, they lied to me, and they wasted my time. I wouldn't trust them to change a light bulb. These guys were awful. They badly bungled a relatively straightforward repair (a bad power switch for a laptop). They did not complete the repairs by the time they said they would. When I asked them what was taking so long, they told me variously that they were "still working on it" or "waiting for a part to come in." However, it became clear in later phone conversations that they had been lying to me and that they had no idea how to fix the computer. When they returned it to me, it was in worse shape than when I gave it to them -- the power switch was jammed where before it simply wasn't turning on the power, the case was scuffed up, and they had lost the power supply (they gave me another power supply in compensation; it was not the correct model for my laptop at all). I ended up taking my maimed computer to Hackers Mancave (at the time in Ellicott City; now I believe in Columbia). They fixed my original problem with the switch plus the additional damage done by Cheapest Computer Fix in less than 24 hours. read more

I literally made a yelp account just to give this company 1 star. DO NOT BELIEVE THESE 5-STAR REVIEWS, THEY ARE EITHER FAKE OR FAMILY MEMBERS. The office is dingy and shared with a tax service, which should've been my first sign that this was a sketchy business. Because of the price, I turned against my better judgement. It took them two weeks to fix the DC jack on my computer, a service they advertise on their site as one of their better ones, when they initially said it would take 3 days. Now that I have my computer back, they messed up the hardware connecting to my speakers, so now my laptop doesn't have any sound. They even failed to put the back panel of my laptop on correctly! Please, PLEASE, do not give any money to this company. They are unprofessional, inconsistent, impossible to get a hold of, and, most importantly, do a piss-poor job of repairing your computer! read more

Worst experience ever. Stay away from this place. Their locations look like they are set up to skip town any minute. I took a working laptop to them that was having trouble charging. I was told it was a common problem and an easy fix. After 7 weeks of frustrating phone calls, upsells and ultimately told they couldn't get the computer to work at all and wanted to sell me an inferior refurbished computer, I'd had enough. I demanded my original computer back and when I arrived to pick it up, the salesman was nowhere to be found and left me to deal with an unknowledgeable desk person. Don't ever use this company. What rating is appropriate for having CCF return your prepaid repair, un-repaired after two months? My teen daughter purchased a Living Social CCF coupon for cracked screen repair in late November. She went to the Columbia location to drop off her Kindle in early December for repair only to discover they were closed mid-day. She left a few VM's which they didn't return. Eventually, she happened to go after 2:00PM to drop it off in late December. We learned much later that this location is only open between 2:00PM - 6:00PM, but . here is no notice posted on their door about the hours and no mention of hours on their VM, and nothing on their website either. At any rate, upon drop off they told her the repair would take about a week because they didn't have any Kindle screens and would have to order one. After a few weeks she didn't hear anything. Her VM's were not returned. In late January I went by the location myself but they were closed (I didn't yet know about the limited hours). I returned a few days later and same result, so I left a VM that was promptly returned by Gary saying he would have it back at the Columbia location by the following Monday. I arrived the following Monday but the unit wasn't there. I was told that they didn't have the screen (i.e., same thing they told my daughter a month earlier), but that it would definitely be there the following Monday. I showed up the following Monday and the unit was not there and the young man said he thought it was going to take longer. I said I wanted to talk to Gary and he called him and put him on the phone whit me. Gary apologized profusely and said that it was in his car and he just kept forgetting to drop if off in Columbia and that it would be delivered to my office the next day (my office is only a few miles from theirs). Well over two months had now transpired since my daughter purchased the Living Social screen repair coupon. Ultimately, the unit was delivered to my office last week completely untouched with the original cracked screen. No note. No VM, nothing. I wasn't in when it arrived. I haven't reported CCF to Living Social yet but will after this Yelp entry. Next stop is small claims court in Ellicott City unless I can get one of Howard County's finest to go over there with me to ascertain whether or not this location is even a legitimate business endeavor. The Columbia location is behind a non-descript steel door that is always dead-bolted and when you knock it is released from the inside and pushed open just an inch or so as the young man there walks away from the door before you can even open it. He is then almost totally mute communicating primarily with a blank stare. The magazines sitting on the table are 5 to 10 years old, etc. It is so creepy! read more

Horrible repair. I went to get my laptop hinge fixed - which they did - but destroyed my screen in the process. My laptop came back looking more raggedy than it did before!!!! Also they never gave me back my laptop charger - it was easier to order a new one rather than deal with those crooks. read more

First of all this place is terrible and horrible. it took more than a month to fix a very simple thing on my laptop. ( my problem was battery charge not working properly). Everytime I called to him or texted about progress of my laptop repair, I have not gotten a call back. Nor any response. On top of that, His repair price advertised on website is deceitful and fraud. After he got my laptop for repair, he was starting to change the repair fee. On the phone he said it would cost $ 60 or $ 70. On the following call, he said he would give me a discount because nobody was available at his Columbia office when I got there. A week later after I called several times, he called me the fee would be $ 95 after $ 45 discount off the regular price $ 140. Today when I got to Catonville offce, his assistant working there said it would cost me $ 125 instead of $ 95 even though I have a proof that he agreed at $ 95 in text message. Yes it is pretty much like a fraud. For one more thing, First time ( 10 days ago) I got there at his Catonsville office after I got a text message " your laptop is ready", I found there that It was not fixed properly and made me upset again. There is never customer service and communication at all. I would like to file a claim against this place with Better Business Bureau. Never ever go there to fix any part of computer. read more

Worst customer service and business ethics. I paid for CCF to order a fan for my laptop. They said it would take up to 10 days to arrive. After that time, I called and left multiple messages asking about the fan. Calls were not returned. Finally, I was able to speak to Gary a month later. He promised to mail the fan to me. He never did. Now my credit card company is handling the dispute for me. To avoid all of this, avoid business with CCF. read more

***RUN QUICKLY IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION*** First of all, this business shares an office with an accountant. HE was probably more qualified to fix my laptop than the actual computer repairman. I called and made an appointment to meet the guy (Singh) at the "office," which should have been my first clue as they have no regular business hours. Everything is by appointment only. I took my son's Samsung laptop in to be repaired. I thought it was a charging port issue because you had to hold the cord a certain way for it to charge. Without doing any diagnostic the guys gives me an estimate of $130 with a deposit of $40. I paid the deposit and he calls me a day later to "confirm" the issue. He says it will be ready in a couple of days, he'll call when it's done. Nearly two weeks later I CALL HIM to ask about the status and he tells me it's ready (gee thanks). I pick up the laptop, take it home and it's dong exactly the same thing. I called him back multiple times to resolve the issue only to get his voicemail. Finally when I leave a message saying I'm going to take further action the guy calls me back. He says it's probably the charger because it worked fine with the charger he had. I said well if that's the case why did you charge me for a port replacement? Was it even replaced? No offer to refund my money but he does say he will send me a new charger "free of charge" and I should receive it overnight. Not free, I've now paid $135 for this charger. Two more weeks go by, no charger. I call and he says the charger was returned as undeliverable. What??? I give him a different address where I know someone is always home on the ridiculously off change it actually didn't fit in my mailbox. 3 weeks go by, no charger, no response to multiple calls. Again, I call a final time stating my lawyer would be the next person to call him while I called the BBB. Immediate response but this time from a woman who asks if I can come to the office to pick up the charger. I do, because I'm sick and tired of these people and my son needs his laptop. This was ABSOLUTELY THE MOST HORRIBLE service I have ever received anywhere. I wouldn't go back to them if their service was free and they were giving away computers. ****STAY AWAY*** read more
