Dropped off my hard drive for data recover, explained that I had opened the cover in attempt to trouble shoot the HDD. Asked the rep if this was a problem, the rep explained that they did not know and said they did not know. I received an email from the tech the following day, explaining that because I opened the cover, the disk was contaminated and it was not possible to recover the data. I wouldn't be annoyed, except the fact that I asked specifically if that was a problem; it would have saved me a trip if the rep was knowledgeable and could have told me that instead of accepting it. We had a good experience with VitalTech. Our Sony laptop stopped working. Another big store wanted at least $200 and said they had to send it away for 2-3 weeks. We got tipped off that this place may be able to help us. They listened to what happened and they thought it was likely a motherboard issue. They ordered a part just to make sure. Unfortunately, it was the motherboard. They did not charge us at all. I found this business to be very honest and I would bring a computer problem to them again in the future, if need be. read more

Brought my laptop here after a company in Virginia totally botched my DC Jack repair. VitalTech assessed the situation, provided documentation and images of the poorly executed repair, and helped me explore my options. I wish I had went to VitalTech first. That other company not only failed to repair my laptop but caused additional damage by using a clear concrete glue like substance was used to secure the jack in place to the palm rest panel. Unfortunately VitalTech could not fix the damage so that is why only 4 out of 5 stars. However after such a bad experience with the company in Virginia, VitalTech was a breath of fresh air. This is an excellent place to go. They are knowledgeable, customer-friendly, and very reasonable. I have been going to them for computer help for about a year and a half. When I bought a little laptop from my mother, I took it there to check out whether it had any bloatware on it that would confuse my mother or cause trouble. In 10 minutes, they told me that I had a lot of problems, and I was able to take it right back to the store and ask to have a lot of "display computer" set ups and advertising ware removed. I was charged nada. When I went out of state to give the computer to my mother, I called them to help me remember the password for the computer, which I thought perhaps they had added, but no, it was the previous store's. They spent 10 minutes on the phone with me giving me typical store passwords and I got in! They also told me they gave remote help, which I totally recommended to my mother. They also helped me with a desktop crash data recovery issue. I can't say enough about this family-run company. read more

Avoid this company. They provide awful service. I did a power jack replacement for my Dell XPS M1330. It took more then 3 weeks and cost me $220. After their work I have found new damages on it: 1. Big crack on the top screen panel 2. Keyboard is damaged 3. DVD ROM completely destroyed I believe that all these damages were made during the assembly/disassembly the laptop that doesn't characterize this company as a good professionals. I took my computer in to have the keyboard replaced. After a week of waiting, and after VitalTech ordered the replacement keyboard, they discovered that they were unable to do the repair. I was definitely bummed, and a little annoyed that they made this discovery more than a week after I dropped it off. After taking the machine apart in front of me so that I could see what she was doing, She didn't try to take my money by replacing the screen on an old machine. Instead she advised me to buy a new one. I really appreciate her advice and willingness to provide good customer service. I dropped my computer off on Tuesday and they said pick it up that same day or the next day. They did not have it ready till Friday. All they had to do was transfer data and re-install the same Windows 7 I had on my computer b4 it crashed. I finally picked it up on Friday (they never called me to tell me it was ready. Vitaltech was not able to fix my laptop. I dropped it off one afternoon and the manager called me the next day. She advised the issue was "probably" the motherboard. She also advised that Vitaltech does not replace motherboards. I picked up my laptop a couple days later, however I left the shop feeling like I should get a second opinion due to the level of uncertainty in the managers diagnosis. I really needed on-site assistance for my brother at a nearby nursing home. Having seen some good reviews on another site about this place, I contacted them. It took a day for Karim, their Lead Tech, to contact me about scheduling and he was able to go the next day. I was able to give him everything he needed to get the PC cleaned up and key items reloaded. It took longer than initially expected but he contacted me before continuing. Sorry all. My experience is quite different from these 5 star ratings. Had the O/S replaced. Takes 15 minutes to load the desktop. Today it's running a CHKDSK over and over and over again and won't even load the desktop. Was told to return it for a hard drive replacement $60-80 and pay another $75 for another O/S replacement. The people here are super nice and from my interactions honest; however, they have not been able to accomplish my simple request. I had a Mac fail and asked for them to retrieve whatever data they could and put it on an external hard drive that I provided. I specifically explained - - several times - that I need it formated so that I can access the data from a PC as I no longer wll be using a Mac. They said no problem. Went to pick up the hard drive, it was only formatted for a Mac. They were contrite and tried to accomodate. They said they would reformat the drive and come back to get it. Another trip back (3rd time if you are counting), I picked it up and got home (my fault should have check there) and the disk is still not recognizable by my PC. Again, they are super nice and are willing to fix the problem, but now I have to take time (4th) to go there again during business hours for them to fix the problem again. Very frustrated. read more
