Got the goods
Janet C.

I ordered 2 surprise bags of empanadas through the too good to go app. They are located inside transfer food hall and had them ready for pickup when I arrived and checked in. I wasn't sure if they were going to be hot, cold, or frozen. They were cold and I assume from whatever didn't sell the day before. Pretty good but disappointed we didn't get any sweet goodies. I really enjoyed the mushroom one (my husband didn't) and my husband and I both liked the sweet beef/sweet meat? There was an awesome spicy pepper and meat filled one we both loved and a sweet meatball one which was great as well. My daughter really enjoyed the spinach and cheese one.

You got to check in via Yelp to get 20% off your first order. I think I was the first one to use it since the friendly cashier didn't know how to honor it, she ended up saying she'll just give me the discount though she thought a QR code needed to be scanned. This place is one of many stalls within a building. The ambiance of the entire place was hip, trendy, lively on a Sunday noon. Ordered 5 kinds of empanadas to go: carne, Jamon y queso (ham and cheese), kale and mushroom, pollo (chicken) and Al limon (with lemon). You can pick to get chimichurri or habanero sauce, I got the former. I had to wait for 3 hours when I got back home to VA Beach before I could try these empanadas but boy, they were worth the long drive! Every flavor was delicious! Love the chimichurri sauce! Packaging for to go was in a box made of egg carton material, kept them warm!

One of the nice spots for variety in the food hall. The people were very nice. They had some "different" flavors, which was cool to try. Recommend if you want something different.

We were hungry for a little late breakfast and decided to stop in at transfer food hall. The ambiance was cool and casual. We ordered the ham and cheese & brisket empanadas. And for a side of sweetness, we ordered a guava and cheese empanada. The service was great. They explain the choices and are extremely quick with their delivery of food. The empanadas were flaky, warm and delicious. Plenty of filling and flavor! I absolutely loved the cubano. The guava and cheese filling brought back childhood memories. I would highly recommend trying it. The brisket was good and the ham and cheese was quite tasty. Overall, I would recommend stopping in and trying something different. You won't be disappointed.

Awesome empanadas! I received multiple flavors through the TooGoodToGo app, and despite coming to the shop to get "surprise" empanadas, I was blown away by all of them. Pictured below includes the ham and cheese, potato, spinach and feta, and a sweet meat. I loved them all!

Get the Shrimp Empanadas!!!! Located in the food hall with a good variety of empanadas. I started out with one empanada and went back for another one!! VERY good empanadas and the sauce was fresh and delicious

So far my favorite empanada place. Located inside Transfer Hall Food Co. The owner, from Venezuela, is so nice and chill! I appreciate his patience with children too!! I've only had the veggie empanadas but look forward to trying the meats soon. A reason for me to go back. 3-4 is enough. They are very filling. They have limited bar seating. If you are in the mood for authentic empanadas and deserts, check out Che.

El Al Pastor Meat Empanada and shrimp empanada with Chimichurri sauce. Get the sauce!

Located in a food hall, these empanadas are delicious! I tried an elpastor and the shrimp with chimmichuri sauce. Wow! Two make a great snack. Fresh ingredients and delicious! A nice kick but flavorful spicyness. The heat ads to but in no way takes away from the flavor. Pastry was light and flakey and delicious. A real gastronomic delight. Service was super fast. I would definitely come again.

Average empanadas or maybe we just prefer the Dominican ones. The carne and Empachori Emphanadas were our favorites. We ordered a variety of them. When we opened the box, there was no way to tell which one was made with pork, red meat, chicken or the Empachori. They can do better. This is not a smart way to pack to go items. As a result, we had to open them to distinguish them. Some of us rather not have meat but chicken or pork. The cashier opened the boxes and checked the order. I didn't think it was necessary for me to double check it but I should have done it. (1) empanada was missing smh. There is no way to tell which one. We couldn't finish eating them. That was a waste! Not the best experience.

Some of my favorite empanadas I've had. Argentinian empanadas made authentic and very fresh. This "stall" is located dead smack in the middle of Transfer Food Hall. They offer an assortment of fillings - your normal beef/chicken, as well as specialty empanadas ie spinach, vegetarian, jamon y queso, and more. Very fast I may add. The dipping sauces are good and spicy. Perfect bites and very kind people.

Cold-Brewed Yerba Mate, Ham & Cheese Empanada, Empachori Empanada

I tried the ham and cheese empanadas and they were very good, very filled, and a good size. The chorizo empanadas were also very tasty. The chimichurri was tangy and flavourful. The Yerba mate cold brew was too bitter for my liking. The service was fast and the cashier was very friendly.

I actually decided to work from home at transfer co food hall today and decided to try food from almost all the vendors and knew instantly I had to leave a review for Che Empanadas. Over everything I ate from every place they stole the show! Probably some of the best, if not the best, empanadas I ever had. Each empanada was hot, flavorful, completely filled, and soooooooo satisfying I felt like I could've tried all of them (& I will when I'm back). There are so many options to choose from you'll probably get overwhelmed. They have a breakfast one, shrimp one, various chicken and beef options, as well as non-meat options like spinach, cheese, guava, etc. I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw ANOTHER menu of even more combinations written on a chalkboard. I ended up getting a chicken, shrimp, brisket, and two different beef empanadas with cheese and onions inside. These empanadas were so cheesy it was just melting in my mouth. They were all a 10/10 but my favorite out of them was actually the brisket empanada. 10000000/10. Definitely come here if you're at this food hall!!! So worth it.

Empanadas are to die for. A bit pricey and the service could've been better, but they are extremely delicious regardless.

The workers seemed slightly slower than the other location I have been to. No biggie. Finally, when it was my turn to order, the guy motioned to me and said something (I couldn't understand him, but it was obvious he wanted me to place my order) so I started my order and then he mid-sentence of me saying the order, he looked down at the monitor and said "one minute" as an online order came in and he started to proceed to make THAT order as I stood there waiting to finish my order. I am not thinking the world should revolve around me at all, but I have also learned that in customer service the person in front of you should be the priority. So finally, I placed my order and moved on through to the cashier. She had ZERO smile and ZERO eye contact. I pride myself on being a cheerful, polite person who also tries to give a genuine smile. She seemed to be tired and definitely didn't want to be there. I had to WAIT to pay bc she was turned waiting for something. No explanation like, "I'll be able to get your payment in just a second" or anything of the sort. The food was delicious, nonetheless. The lighting at night inside is a little too much on the cool side. We decided to take our order to go. Will we be back? yes, but to the Spring Forest Road location instead. the staff is friendlier and way faster!

Started with the pernil mallorca melt... mouthwatering pork roast, slow-cooked & fork tender, on sweet-ish mallorca bread with melted cheese and a spoonful or two of the pork juices. Excellent. Next, a Cuban sandwich. The same pork roast, this time with as slice of ham, Swiss cheese and sliced pickles, slathered with mustard on pressed mallorca bread. A great rendition of a Tampa-style Cuban but missing that Cuban bread. Also tried a trio of empanadas. The beef is a hearty mix of chunky beef, well spiced, juicy and tender. The chicken is chunks of white meat, with slivers of carrots and other vegetables. A little more bland than the beef, but still flavorful, moist and tender. Each was ensconsed in a traditional half moon pastry and fried deep, golden brown. Not at all greasy, these were crunchy, savory and delicious. Honorable mention to the s'mores empanada. The same half moon pastry, stuffed with chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker, then deep fried. WAY better than your standard cookout s'mores; these were decadent and sweet. The perfect dessert to top off the meal. Be on the lookout for this food truck. Really good food - fresh and delicious.

Walking in, it seemed kind of small, and we figured we'd have a few options. But looks were deceiving, with only a small frontage on the street, it's very deep, housing easily 20 or more restaurants. They offered the best variety of food ethnicities I've ever seen in one place. Restaurant options offered included a pizza shop, a deli, Italian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Mexican, burgers, a southern kitchen, a restaurant of just French fry options, and so much more. Wanting something sweet, they had ice cream, dessert crepe.....SO MANY OPTIONS. The variety was fantastic, and there was plenty of seating, both inside, and out. Staff were regularly, cleaning tables as people left, and bathrooms were well maintained.....the only downside, is you've got to decide where you're going to eat. I'd 100% return to this spot, such great variety, reasonable pricing and convenience.

According to Visit Raleigh, it occupies a repurposed, approximately 22,000-square-foot warehouse that was retrofitted into a communal food hall concept and opened in 2018. I used to work at One Glenwood and frequented it often. I returned again in late December to try Curry in a Hurry, one of the many vendors operating in the hall. The food hall features more than 20 distinct culinary concepts, ranging from casual eats to dessert vendors. Full-service kitchens, snack stalls, and beverage counters all operate under one roof, offering plenty of variety for nearly any craving. Some of the vendors I've ordered from include: Curry in a Hurry - Indian cuisine with bold, flavorful curries. The Chicken Kati Roll is Indian street food at its finest. Opa! - A little taste of Greece. My favorite order is the spanakopita (spinach pastry platter) paired with a Greek salad. Gym Tacos - Vibrant flavors inspired by Mexican street food. Iyla's Southern Kitchen - Authentic Southern comfort food. The Chicken and Waffles sandwich is especially good. In addition, there are many other stalls offering burgers, tacos, sushi burritos, other Mediterranean dishes, seafood, empanadas, desserts, and more. Beyond food, the hall includes two notable bars: The Arbor, which serves beer, wine, and cocktails, and Aunty Betty's, a cozy, gin-focused bar that adds to the venue's nightlife appeal. Morgan Street Food Hall is family-friendly, chic, and dynamic. With varied menus and multiple seating formats, it attracts a broad mix of locals, visitors, nearby office workers, and families. Inside, communal picnic-style tables encourage a lively, social atmosphere, while a large outdoor patio with string lighting creates a vibrant setting. There are also lounge areas indoors that feel more like a relaxed living room. The space works well for groups, families, date nights, casual meetups, and even takeout. It does get very crowded during peak periods, so it's best to plan ahead if you want to secure seating. When visiting with a group, you may need to stagger food orders to hold a spot. The location is within walking distance of downtown offices, residential developments, and other nightlife and dining venues, which helps explain its popularity. When I worked at One Glenwood, it was an easy walk. If you're not within walking distance, parking can be the main drawback. Street parking nearby is reasonably priced if you can find it, while surrounding lots tend to be more expensive. Even though I no longer work nearby, I still enjoy visiting Morgan Street Food Hall--even when it means paying for parking.
