Sticky rice mango smoothie, Avocado paradise
    Kelly L.

This place took over the old Bambu... it has remnants of the old Bambu menu but also more extensive matcha and coffee menu. My friend and I loved the desserts we got - Sticky mango rice smoothie and Avocado paradise. Both were perfect sweetness and had a great balance of toppings. Took off one star due to the wait here. They only have one ordering kiosk... which causes a long line. It is also frustrating that people aren't deciding what they want while they are waiting to use the kiosk - maybe offering paper menus would help with that? A lot of the delay is the singular kiosk and people dilly-dallying once it is their turn on the kiosk. Once you order though, your dessert comes pretty fast.

We ordered using the kiosk, which was quick and easy. The space is on the smaller side and fills up fast, so we ended up taking our drinks to go. It was pretty busy when we visited, so there was a bit of a wait for our drinks, but the woman who handed us our order was very kind. She apologized for the wait and thanked us for our patience, mentioning that it usually doesn't take that long. I ordered the mango sticky rice smoothie, and wow, it was so good! It wasn't overly sweet, and I loved that there was actual sticky rice at the bottom. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The flavor was unique, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. I've already told my husband that I want to go back because I could seriously drink this smoothie every day. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Ordered a Matcha Banana Pudding at 25%. It was still pretty good but sweeter than what expected. Used to be bambu which looks like they still have some of the drinks they used to carry. I'll have to come back and try more.

This cafe is so cute and has a kiosk for easy ordering or if you prefer to order at register. They have a large selection of yummy drinks with plenty of options depending on what you like - sweet, salty, tangy. There's something for everyone here!

I saw social media posts about this place and decided my boyfriend and I needed to go ASAP. I love matcha and love a place that offers a bunch of fun flavors! We got there and it was VERY busy but it also was still considered their soft opening I think. The space is quite small but it was clean and well decorated. The had a little stands with different asian snacks which I thought was fun. The menu is pretty big but, I decided to get the banana matcha & my boyfriend got a pandan Viet coffee that came with a little waffle. The wait was a little longer because it was so busy but not horrific. We finally got our drinks and my boyfriend ate his waffle which he said was good but, just a waffle. As for the drinks, my boyfriend enjoyed his coffee and said it was good! The matcha was really good but it was more so a dessert than a matcha. I drank it incredibly and strangely fast and realized how much ice and toppings were in the cup. I think they definitely could do with a little less so you get more of the actual drink because for the kind of expensive price, that was simply not enough of the actual drink. It was also extremely sweet which was pretty expected, but the matcha itself was lost completely flavor wise. I want to come here and try the desserts instead of the matches!

I was coming here before the swap over when it was Bambu and I'm happy to say that I really enjoy the soft opening. I came during the lunch hours so it wasn't overrun with people. The staff and owners are still the same people who are sweet and kind. Of course parking in the Eat Street area is always challenging. I got the Coco Island because it was similar to something I liked on the old menu, they gave me more grass jelly and I loved that! The Mango Sticky Rice though! 10/10! I would definitely come back for it again! For some reason I didn't think it through and tried to drink it with a straw and forgot that the sticky rice will get stuck, so recommended to use a spoon. Overall, I think the change is good and I'm excited to try the new drinks on the menu!

This is one of the few places that offer Vietnamese dessert drinks in MN and when they were Bambu I love coming here for their pandan waffles and desserts. Now that they have changed name and is no longer under Bambu, it seems their stuff opening week is going slow since waiting time is over 30 minutes to order and get your order total. I like that they have now added the self order station. Most of the menu items are the same with different names. It seems their most popular dessert drink order when we were there was Mango Sticky rice. Will have to come back to give it a try. They set up in the dining area is a little more crowded than before so more space to sit with comfy chairs but not a lot of moving room throughout the space. My Coco Island dessert drink was great. They didn't have strawberries as part of their toppings for the waffles but my daughter still enjoyed her waffle with vanilla ice cream. The pandan is less sweet this time. Prices are a little higher but it's

Well thinking I would go to Pho Hua instead, I pulled intonthe Shuang Hur Grocer's parking lot thinking I'd grab a few things before heading north on Eat Street. Then I saw signs on the Shuang Hur building for a (new to me) Vietnamese joint in the same building. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! My Huong is an 8-top hole in the wall across the parking lot from the rear of El Nuevo Mariachi Restaurant. The place is homely, small, but brightly lit and plenty of day light through the picture windows overlooking Eat Street. It's a big contrast to Pho 79 type places that are dim and short on ambience. The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. I was seated right away, was greeted by a cheery Vietnamese lady, and ordered Hu Tieu Bo Khu (Beef Stew Noodle Soup.) It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor. There were other menu items like Curry Chicken pho and a Stewed chicken rice dish I'd have to return and try!

I believe that since COVID they have transitioned to takeout only, and it's great to see that the business is still thriving even if they are still operating under the takeout only model despite how the world has evolved away from the pandemic. For the few dishes that I came here for, qualities varied, with some dishes lacking flavor while others simply sloppily created. The Hainanese chicken relied solely on the extra dipping sauces for flavor while the chicken itself had no flavor alone. The nasi lemak had good flavor mainly because of the sambal, and the chicken had good texture. I didn't see any peanuts in the dish, which I thought was needed for nasi lemak. The sizzling beef and ginger scallion duck had pretty expected flavor because of their ingredients, meaning that what they looked like was what they tasted like, if that makes sense. When I got food from there a second time 4 months later, overall the food was better. The chili tofu wasn't spicy at all even if I asked for spicy in my original order. The char kway teow had both good flavor and soft texture, allowing a positive tasting experience. The sambal shrimp had a good amount of vegetables and not enough shrimp, and had very good flavor because of the sambal infused with the dish. Because their menu is huge, I think they have an adequate selection of options that can serve customers of all kinds. Even though this is not one of my favorite spots within the Twin Cities, the dishes they have already solidifies this establishment as a "must not miss" within the area.

Crispy outside, soft inside Roti Canai - amazing! No wonder this is a top rec on Yelp Dumplings - average but good! Chicken Rice - We didn't realize each dish came with rice, so we ordered this but so glad we did - it had amazing flavor. Pick up process was very easy - they have their system down.
