Love the crepes! We ordered one Parisian Ham crepes and one cheesecake crepes. Both are mouthwatering!! Ambience is comfortable and trendy. Very relaxing environment! Highly recommended for hangouts with friends, and relaxing brunch!

    Parisian Style crepes

A little surprise in Barrie! We ordered Parisian Style and Gluten-free Smoke Salmon Crepes, both delicious. Good portion with salad in light tasteful dressing. Gluten-free option available but not listed on menu. It is yummy Cons: pay parking, pricy drinks

I have been to Chavo Crepes 2 times already. The staff is very friendly making sure to serve me the best they can. While there I have had both the turkey and cheese and the Bulgarian sausage. They were both nothing short of amazing. I especially love the fact that they make everything there and all of their ingredients are fresh. No complaints at all about this place. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Bulgarian sausage 2 egg breakfast crepe

Ok, so I didn't know what to expect. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside, this restaurant is charming and has a great atmosphere. The food and service was amazing. I had the Bulgarian sausage, 2 egg breakfast crepe. Their Honey-Dijon-Chia dressing is so good. My husband had the Hazel Berryana sweet crepe, which was equally as delicious. Seriously, we will be back, again and again. The breakfast crepes and sweet crepes are delicious and so filling. Looking forward to trying some of their savoury crepes, soups and salads!!

The salmon and creamcheese with dill crepe was delicious. The summer salad that came with it was equally very tasty and filling.

While I think it probably was more creative, the execution of the meal suffered under the weight of staff inexperience. First off, the entryway to the restaurant was dingy and unswept. Not a pleasant first impression. We arrived early for our reservation, and had every intention of waiting at the bar. After fumbling around trying to cobble a table together for us, the flustered hostess finally agreed to our suggestion that we wait at the bar. While there, nobody offered us a drink, bar menu, or appetizer. We were ignored. We were then offered to be put at a table in the bar area, but then another table cleared up and we were seated by the window instead. Jeremy, our server, was pleasant and told us of the soup and wine specials, plus pointed out the $7 supplement on the sirloin entree. Water was poured into all our glasses, and our server left us for a few minutes to decide. We were given two lunch menus and two dinner menus, so he had to go and get the correct ones for two of us. While looking at the menu, we noticed dirty (poorly washed) plates, and had to replace some of them when he returned. Upon returning, he took our orders: Appetizers: two sweet potato soups, one salad, and one pork belly and gnocchi. Entrees: three pork w/ goat cheese citrus polenta and spiced apple chutney (with one red wine) and one chicken ravioli Dessert: one pavlova, two coconut cream pies, and one chocolate torte. We were served focaccia bread with balsamic vinegar, Parmesan, and olive oil. The bread was warmed, but seemed stale and tasteless. We asked for fresh bread, which he brought back un-warmed, but it was still hard (stale) and tasteless, despite (apparently) being cooked that morning. Just a very bad bread recipe. Appetizers: All were tasty enough, though the soup was a little watery. Half of the pork belly (with the gnocchi) was firm, the other half juicy. I don't know how they managed to cook it to two different degrees of doneness, but they did. The salad was OK. Entrees: The ravioli were undercooked and hard. Besides that, they were just OK. The pork was super-dry and over-cooked, and I felt bad for the pig that it had been so maltreated. The goat cheese citrus polenta and spiced apple chutney, while a valiant attempt, failed. The flavour combination was mismatched and unpleasant. Unfortunately, the only way to get the pork some moisture was to eat it with the chutney. Dessert: The Pavlova got good reviews. The torte was very dense and rich. The pie was actually pretty good. It was a warm evening, and yet we were only offered water once. I drained my glass within a few minutes, and although our waiter came to our table several times, he failed to notice it near the edge of the table and refill it. It's nice to see Barrie with a restaurant that tries something creative, but I've definitely experienced much better. Meals like this one remind me of some of the spectacular meals for the same price that I've enjoyed in Toronto, San Francisco, and New York - not because it's up to the same standard, but because it makes me wish that this had been one of those meals instead.

The ambience is definitely something to long after the music is wonderful and the service is extremely well. Done with the food is incredibly precise and the definition of beautiful. What's so amazing about this restaurant is that everything is so in sync the head chef seems to treat all of his kitchen staff with utmost respect and does not hesitate to teach them what they might not know he is the opposite of what we would think stereotypical harsh chef would be. The chef's wife is in charge of the dine in. She is a warm and bubbly character. That makes sure everything is up to the high expectation we all have once we go there for dinner. Once again, yes, the prices are a little bit elevated, but for a gourmet restaurant, it is absolutely worth it his magnificent little restaurant and everybody there is extremely kind and the food is nothing less than delicious.

This intimate establishment presents a culinary narrative grounded in tradition--duck, foie gras, and pristine tartare executed with technical precision that speaks to the kitchen's genuine respect for ingredient and technique. The dining environment envelops guests in understated elegance; the restaurant's urbane sophistication is enhanced by thoughtful service that balances attentiveness with discretion. The wine program merits particular commendation, offering a curated selection spanning from reliable house selections to exceptional vintage discoveries. While the execution remains commendable, there remains room for seasonal flexibility in the menu composition. The kitchen would benefit from occasional adjustments that honor the demands of summer's lighter palate, ensuring that even masterfully prepared offerings remain seasonally appropriate. Minor inconsistencies in protein preparation suggest an opportunity for enhanced vigilance at the pass. It seems like they are booked out but we gave them a call and they were able to squeeze us in for 5:15pm reservation on Saturday. Underground parking available and they validate it even if you come a bit earlier than your reservation. I love the charming little house exterior and warm country charm interiors. I ordered their salade de lyonnaise, lamb sirloin and chocolate torte. All were good. Though my friend couldn't have any alcohol and the lamb had a red wine sauce, instead they gave her some kind of reduction or au jus sauce with her lamb and it was absolutely delicious, way better than the actual sauce that came with our lamb and beef mains. We ended up using some of her sauce for our dishes too. I also tried the leek soup and pork terrine appetizers, which was also good though I especially liked the salad with the egg on top. The desserts are probably the highlight of my meal. I love the chocolate torte I had at the end and also tasted the apple tarte which was also great. I think for the Winterlicious menu, the quality of desserts are certainly better than other spots I've had. We also enjoyed the drinks, I had a lychee mocktail and my table had some wine and spanish coffee and decaf cappuccino which was also good. The staff was very attentive though my friend, while she told the staff she doesn't have a shrimp allergy she just didn't want shrimp in her soup. Somehow it was served with it but they did later corrected it, which is all good just a minor hiccup. Probably better to just have us eat it for her than bother with the changes.
