Gord and I had breakfast this morning at Linda's Eating Place & Coffee Shop. It was a a busy spot. We met our friends, Mary and Malcolm, there and they got there ahead of us. They had a 10 minute wait for a table and had just sat down when we got there. There was always a line-up. I had a tomato and bacon sandwich. Gord had a western sandwich and shared his amazing fruit bowl with me. Everything was good, though my milk could have been colder. read more

Absolutely the worst service ever and waited over 40 minutes for a bowl of soup and a sandwich. Never got it, we walked out without ever getting our food. Our waitress was a complete flake, she never came over once to ask if I wanted my water refilled. Had to ask 3 more times for a refill of my water, she finally grabbed water jug and headed for the bathroom to refill it. Another waitress grabbed it and headed to the kitchen, refilled the jug, then finally refilled my glass. Our waitress was young and obviously inexperienced as a waitress. And her skirt was so short every time she bent over everything was very visible. Rather gross. This is my second time at Linda's walking away extremely disappointed, and last time was for breakfast. Waited over an hour for our meal, when it finally came they gave me wrong item. Asked for turkey bacon, got bacon, no biggie, but when they finally brought out turkey bacon, it was so over cooked it shattered. Never going to this restaurant again. Give it -10 stars. read more

Cute and welcoming local spot. Stopped in on a Sunday for brunch with my boyfriend and were able to get a seat without any wait. The place was busy and smelt great! The menu offered a great variety of options. I went for eggs, home fries and gluten free toast (always nice to have that option available). He went for the hungry man #3 which had no shortage of food. He said it hit the spot! We will definitely be back! Supporting local and enjoying good homemade food how can you go wrong. read more

We spent a few days in Barrie at Horseshoe and wanted an off property place for breakfast. Linda's close by. It's a nice little place.

A little gem for a traditional breakfast. Warm welcoming staff and a relaxed cottage feel to the decor made this breakfast a nice way to start the day. I had Linda's breakfast with sausage. Sausage was delicious as was everything else. One thing to note in the menu is the upgrades. Think table syrup to maple, un-named cheese to cheddar, adding onions to homefries. Pricing is quite reasonable for both breakfast and upgrades. Coffee is good. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes read more

We ate at the restaurant a few Saturdays ago Our experience was not good. It took awhile for us to be seated and then we were promptly ignored. Three more groups were seated, they were given menus, served coffee and their orders taken and there we sat. When we could have been acknowledged the staff were chatting to each other behind the counter. I was finally able to catch the eye of someone and we finally were taken care of. I ordered Eggs Benedict. I was profoundly disappointed. The poached eggs were hard and the hollandaise was synthetic. Our total experience was quite disappointing and we will not be back. read more

I randomly stopped in here once and have been back here several times since as the food is excellent! They make fresh homemade food and have a lovely little country style atmosphere. This is my favorite breakfast/brunch place in the area. They just started baking their own gluten free breads too. Highly recommended. read more

I found Linda's Eating Place on Yelp while staying at the Carriage Hills Resort. I had a French toast breakfast here and compliments to the chef's! Linda herself was our server and she gave great recommendations to us about places to see and attractions to visit in the area. Linda was superb, unfortunately we didn't make our way back for lunch but we had every intention to. It's not far from the resort and it has that laid back, home-style cooking feel to it. read more

This place was garbage. We went as a group to go and eat a nice brunch. When we got there the server seemed kind and asked if we wanted to sit inside but we would have to be split apart, or if we wanted to sit together as a group outside. We decided to go outside, this was one my worst ever decisions made. When we got outside we ordered our drinks. The tea was watery garbage, the coffee was cold and the chocolate milk tasted like dirt. Additionally the water cups were dirty and yellow and the water tasted like metal. On top of that some of our napkins were dirty. Plus the cutlery was indistinguishably disgusting. Then our food came, before we even could take a bite we could tell it was ice cold. While we were eating a bunch of wasp attacked us so we asked you inside the server said yes but never came back to take us inside which was a very big upset. Additionally the food didn't taste good it was bland and tasteless and the apple cinnamon tasted like watered down dog food. finally we came to the bill. The food was all super overpriced the chocolate milk costed $3 each which is insane because it definitely is just nesquik and two people's food added up to $60. And totally only ordered an omelet and two waffles and the chocolate milk. Too Finish it off don't eat here it's overpriced and the food isn't that good the only time I'd actually say go here is if you're gluten free but even then I might suggest you to reconsider. Stopped by on the way to Midland since my blood sugar was dangerously low. It is your typical local breakfast & brunch place with friendly people working there. Guess what? You will get a good no nonsense breakfast/lunch food here. I got this thing which was a French toast sandwich with ham and cheese in the middle. That stuff was great. GF got a farmer's omlete and that might be one of the best omletes that I have ever tried. All in all, if you are in the area and you are looking for a good breakfast place, please do give Linda's a try. Due to its location, it will likely not get a lot of yelpers visiting so it will likely remain a hidden gem...a good one though. read more

An amazing breakfast spot, especially if you eat gluten free! They offer homemade breads and baked goods, pancakes and waffles that are all gluten free. Service is always great and very friendly. It's an old school diner, run by a lovely hardworking family. My only wish is that they had better coffee. That's it! Highly recommended. read more
