Classic breakfast with sausages for St Patties
    Joanna T.

Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday. Place was busy but we easily got a table for 2. Apparently you can also make reservations Service was great and efficient Food was delicious! I had the avocado spinach Benny (only on weekends) which was amazing. Great hollandaise, and the home fries and salad was very flavourful . The eggs perfectly cooked. Probably one of the best brunch dishes I've ever had! My husband had the classic breakfast. His only complaint was that it could've had a bit more protein. Again the flavours were great . Definitely would return.!!

I came by for a coffee not realizing it is a brunch place. Staff was warm and decor is unique and fun for an outing. I was fortunate enough to get a window seat. I can't comment on the food but it was quite busy and looks like worth the visit for brunch.

Extremely Racist and rude owner- Michelle! Not a family friendly place!! This place might be popular for its food but the server and service in the cafe is the worst I have ever seen. I am from Toronto and was visiting Barrie with my husband and one year old on a Saturday morning. We thought to explore this popular cafe since my daughter was starving. We reached the place as soon as it opened and we were the first customers. The server (Michelle) who is the owner of the place did not even greet us and was talking rudely about not having a reservation with them. We didn't feel good but didn't want to leave without buying anything. So we still thought to get a coffee to which she replied- If you are buying just a coffee then you will have to leave the table. We said ok we can leave after finishing. Minutes later she noticed my 1 year old daughter holding the table number tag that was lying on our table in the patio. She came running from inside and snatched the tag from her. She hurt my daughter and made her cry and just went inside. We thought to leave the place immediately. I went inside and told her that she can't behave like this with a baby to which she said that my daughter can't touch anything in the restaurant. I have never had such bad experience ever in my life. We are an Indian family and we could understand that the woman was being racist and did not want to welcome us to her cafe. She hurt my daughter physically and emotionally. I wanted to explore Barrie to move there from Toronto but after this experience I would never return to this place and this cafe.

Lazy Tulip Café Chicken Club! Delicious! Simply delicious!

I like sauces and dressings, they serve their Lazy Tulip Café chicken club with a very nice one, but when asked, they gave me an extra little dish of garlic mayo so I'm now in heaven! And the salad with crispy fresh greens and pumpkins seeds... yummy! Simply delicious! Location is great! Downtown and across from the bus terminus.

Excellent place to stop in Barrie with great food and character. Menu is vegan & vegetarian friendly with a wide variety to chose from. Located right next to the Barrie waterfront and right by downtown Barrie. Dog friendly (!!) with a welcoming outdoor patio.

    Eggs Benny special

Insanely good eggs Benedict, not pay off regular breakfast menu. Good service, fresh food made from scratch. Vegan options. We came here for breakfast. At about 11am on a Sunday, it wasn't too busy, which is nice. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (a special that day) and my friends had the classic breakfast and the huevos rancheros. We all LOVED our meals. I couldn't stop talking about the eggs benedict, which was made with hollandaise from scratch and came on top of some kind of thick, airy toast that seemed to be made of butter. Those who had coffee couldn't stop talking about how great it was. One of the things I noticed about the place was that they had a lot of vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free items. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would definitely visit this place again the next time I'm in Barrie.

Unfortunately I am rating this one stars for a reason. For price point, please review my menu pictures the cafe environment has changed since the last set of reviews. When you order the menu is very detailed but no photo to show size (but that's why we have yelp). When ordered the strawberry cheese cake crepe. I watched the order made. The crepe was undercooked and thick. The undercook was attributed with the thick layer of batter placed down. The cheese cake filling was a cheese cake and sour creme with vanilla and lots of sugar. The plate itself was cheese cake, but in a crepe, I think the cream cheese could have been batched fresh with yogurt for a lighter filling than this premade stuff or fold in some whip cream to lighten it up. And even a fold of strawberry syrup would have made the crepe taste like a strawberry cheese cake crepe. It had fresh strawberries but will honestly give a sour taste. The dessert was glazed with caramel. The washrooms are located in the back but wasn't stocked with hand soap. It's a nice date location but crepes could use enhancement. I dont think I would return for the crepe, maybe will try a coffee drink next time.

This second location is located outside on the beautifully picturesque cobblestone road named Temperance Street. The building is historic and the calm interiors make you feel instantly at home. Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured. I absolutely plan to go back for one of their seasonal matcha beverages and to get away from it all. 5/5

When I noticed they open in North Barrie, I thought I would give it a shot. It is slightly larger than the Union Station spot and actually had tables. On to the menu I had giant Club Sub with roast beef, Turkey and bacon and had a chipotle chicken cheesesteak regular with a large drink and a bag of french onion crisps . A word to the wise, I consider myself a healthy eater, but do NOT get a giant sub with Jersey Mike's unless you have not eaten in a week. The giant sub is just too big for one person to eat in one sitting . One thing with Jersey Mikes the subs are very fresh , you can see the care they take in putting your subs together. Both subs tasted fantastic . The bread was spongy fresh. The veggies were clean and crisp and there was a lot of meat on the subs. The big difference between these two locations was that Barrie location's customer service was similar to the American stores that I heard about from my friends in the states who were raving about this franchise. You can see the meat and cheeses getting sliced in front of you with this location and they actually took the time to chat with you and check to see you enjoying the food. Yes I know they just opened and there were some minor errors but that happens for all new locations with chains. The trainers (I think they were American) were there to go over the corrections. All in All it was good value and a fine start for Jersey Mikes in Barrie. I will be going back to try the different varieties of subs and checking out their cookies as well.
