We usually have brunch at Sunset Grill. I went with the waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, and hash browns, and everything hit the spot. My partner's Sunset Club chicken sandwich was a hit too. Parking can be a bit of a hassle since it is in the Georgian Mall plaza, but once you find it, it us smooth sailing. The atmosphere is classic diner vibes, comfortable and cozy with a hint of retro charm. Servers are friendly, though some could work on making eye contact; it is a small gesture, but it makes a difference. This place can improve everything. The service was exceptionally slow, and even when we asked the server was not really sure why our food was not being delivered when it should be. The bathroom was in filthy dirty and should not be accommodated by any human on the planet. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would suggest you stay as far away from it as you possibly can. There are many more restaurants in Guelph, which serve a better breakfast and are much cleaner and enjoyable to attend. read more

I had been at the sunset grill four years ago and was not impressed as they burnt my blueberry pancake. but after checking out their Toronto location recently. I thought Id give them another try. I will say that it is very busy there but i was seated promptly. I had the fruit waffle with. turkey bacon and home fries and coffee and orange juice. It was very filling and tasty. Fantastic experience this morning at the Georgian Mall location. I wish I caught our waitress's name before we headed out. She had dark hair, about 5'7". Around mid thirties maybe. She was super friendly and checked up on us regularly. She was awesome! We are from Orillia and we hadn't been to a Sunset location before. We were greeted immediately with a smile when we came through the door. The restaurant was bright, clean and comfortable. All visible staff looked genuinely happy to be there, which is great to see. My husband had the chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries and loved them. I ordered the vegan hashbrown breakfast (I can't remember the specific menu-listed name). It comes with sauteed onions and mushrooms, potato hashbrowns, fresh chopped tomatoes and guacamole. I am a guac snob and it definitely hit the spot! I've been to sunset grill so many times! It's usually my go to suggestion for breakfast if my friends ever want it. It's pretty cheap and the food is always good. A couple times I've had to wait or food has been a bit off but those are far and few between . They also have great staff and a very clean restaurant ! A solid breakfast place with fairly decent service. Unfortunately the cook is inconsistent so some visits are better than others. If you speak to the manager though he is very understanding and takes care of you. We have only had to really complain once and he was good to us. We have left a few times feeling so-so about our meal but other times it's great. read more

I tried to order the Grilled Chicken Breast with Three Eggs. It comes with home fries and thick toast with jam and I asked if it could be replaced with a house salad instead. The manager had told me that she cannot process or customize my order because "the sun and grill franchise doesn't allow us to do that". Too bad. I live in the USA but I have been to the Sunset Grill on Bayfield Street several times with my parents when visiting, it is our go-to place for a terrific breakfast. The staff are friendly, cheerful and very professional. The pancakes are fluffy, the eggs fresh and the portions are generous. The place has always been busy when we are there, a lot of young families which is nice to see. Good job Sunset Grill, we appreciate the staff who work there. read more
