First day back to reality and hunger hits hard. So breakfast is a must. After reviewing a few places Debb's was to be checked out. Server was nice, touch of humour. Coffee was your typical underwhelming breakfast joint type. Advised by server that first round of eggs, didn't quite make the cut.. so I waited a couple extra minutes, and they eggs where beautifully runny. Hollandaise was ok, not too salty or runny. Just missing that extra something in flavour. The star of this dish is absolutely the massive thickness of the peameal bacon. Homefries, deep fried, adequate not special or fantastic. I asked for hot sauce, and sadly Franks is their go to. Better than Tabasco but in my opinion it's a touch basic and better options exist. This place clearly has the signs of consistency to make something amazing. Almost $3.50 for a coffee is obscene. $19.00 for the benny is a bit too much. Flavour ok, but the cost was pretty outrageous. Chop 10% off the price which is still a decent price point for them, shave the size of the peameal bacon a touch and add more flavour you'd have great value and great food. read more

My wife and I went there for breakfast for the first and last time today. We are not from Barrie so we just picked this spot because of the reviews so we decided to eat here instead of wimpy's. Service was friendly and good, however my rye bread had green mold on it and the workers idea of a response to this was to remove a couple of dollars off the bill. I was more taken back by the $3 reduction off the bill than the moldy bread. For eggs Benedict and coke and a big breakfast with a coffee came out to 53.50 before the 3 bucks. Why bother to take any money off the bill? A real response should've been "I'm terribly sorry this had happened enjoy the rest of your day the meal is on us" or at least my meal. Tucked away in a little industrial area, Debb's is a fabulous spot for a quick or leisurely breakfast. Our server this morning was perfect, just the right mix of attentive but not intrusive. She made sure that our kids had everything they needed, and that the coffees were well-managed - critical at 7:30 AM. Food was great, with reasonable prices and serving sizes. Nice atmosphere with lots of wood beams and large stone, un fireplace, decent breakfast but kinda pricey. The run of the mill bad coffee is not included in breakfast menu and is extra at $2.99. Pleasant staff. No wifi. read more

I had Coconut Cream Pie for Breakfast. Well, with breakfast. This is a spacious, quaint, rustic diner style restaurant that is only open from 7AM until 2PM. Obviously the locals like it a lot. I stopped in for a breakfast meeting (mid morning) and enjoyed a brewed decaf, eggs and bacon with a sub of fruit for the home fries, cooked beautifully. Interesting to note that the fruit sub was not the usual melon, but this had sliced fresh banana and blueberries. Very fresh!! But I saw coconut cream pie on the menu and had to try it. The exceptional server told me (sold me) that a local lady makes them from homemade and delivers them to the restaurant. This was a winning pie, and while I thought I would only eat half of it after my eggs, I cleanup up the whole plate. For those of you watching me, yes, that was me licking the plate and moaning... This is one of the best basic brekky joints I have found. The only thing is that they do not make their Hollandaise for the Eggs Benny from scratch-it's power based. Service was good, I'll start off saying. But, it's expensive for what it is, $9.99 for the usual minimal breakfast that doesn't include coffee ($2.79 extra). The eggs were ok, home fries just tasted and looked like McCain fries, sausages were crap (generic cheap gristly fake tasting). $15 for this where other places it's half that for the same thing and better quality sausages. read more

I've been here multiple times. A nice local breakfast spot with moderate prices and a decent menu. Nothing too complicated or fancy just good ole classic breakfasts foods. The staff are really friendly as I believe it's a family business, a few of the staff look related. They open nice and early, come around regularity to refill coffee and make sure everything is well. Overall a good dining experience just a tad pricey for breakfast and I wish they would add a smoked salmon Benedict! Menu could use a few more items but over all a good spot and worth a try 4.5/5 read more

Just a normal breakfast place but the quality is good and service is great. In particular the waffles are amazing. So soft and fluffy that i had to order two. Make sure you get their wiped cream too. read more

Great food and atmosphere. It has the feel of a farm house with great home cooking. Prices are very reasonable and staff are very friendly.

Head here every Saturday with my father. Never disappointed. Very reasonably priced with excellent food. Service is fantastic led by Debb herself. No matter what you want and how you want it is never a problem. Great coffee. read more
