The owners are friendly but I do feel a bit rushed when I'm there, not getting to read the menu for long and both take your order so you're answering questions from two people which takes away a bit from the experience. The food is served fresh and sometimes comes with a little carrot decoration which is shaped like a flower. On my recent visit, I noticed that there is a tip jar for the owners as well as an additional 25 cents being added to all interac purchases.

We returned after waiting 40 minutes only to be told their system wasn't working and they were no longer seating customers. The problem isn't that their system failed--things happen. The problem is that they already had our name and phone number and made absolutely no effort to contact us. If we hadn't walked back to ask, we would have continued waiting indefinitely for a table that was never coming. We even offered to pay with cash, but they still refused to seat us, despite having put us on the wait list 40 minutes earlier. They simply dismissed us. This showed a complete lack of respect for their customers and our time. A simple phone call or someone stepping outside to notify the people waiting would have taken only a few minutes. Instead, they chose to leave customers standing around with no communication whatsoever. There are plenty of restaurants in Collingwood that value their customers' time. Based on this experience, this isn't one of them.

Sure enough, mid--way through our meal, a plan landed and taxied right to the window, parked, while the pilot hopped out and walked to the office building next to the restaurant. This is our first visit to Wiarton and we wanted to have breakfast locally. On a Tuesday morning, only two restaurants served breakfast. So glad we chose this one. We both love skillets and chose one with kielbasa sausage and one with thick slides bacon pieces. Our server was so friendly and helpful in describing the menu. We elected to have the sauce on the side; she was really open to meeting our needs. When our skillets came, they were literally medium-sized cast iron skillets, filled with crispy home potatoes, onions, bell pepper, loaded with meat and two perfectly medium fried eggs on top, with just the right amount of melted cheddar cheese. We thoroughly enjoyed HALF of our meals, dabbing our forks in the tangy, sweet sauce and sipping our very fresh decaf coffee. What a comfort meal. We boxed up our other half and will repeat this joyful meal tomorrow morning in our hotel room, though the ambience will not be nearly as entertaining. The restaurant was filled with locals, always a good sign. It's a rather small room with about 8 tables, so there is likely to be a wait on weekends. That's OK. It's worth the wait. The price was very reasonable, especially given the generous portion sizes. We will definitely be returning to try their lunch entrees.
