I finally was able to go to Scotty's for dinner and I was not disappointed. We started with the bruchettaand it lived up to the hype - delicious. I had the ribs as my main and they were amazing. Meat just falls off the bone. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. Side of real fries and slaw. My wife had the marsalla chicken with mash and carrots. It was also delicious. I highly recommend this place. Fresh home cooking and the staff are top notch. 4/5 stars. Can wait to go back. read more

I have heard a lot about Scotty's from friends and decided to give it a shot while I was in the area. I had high expectations as many told me it was their favourite restaurant in Barrie and I was completely let down. The food was extremely mediocre, I got the Chicken Alfredo, and the sauce was split. I could see separation from the grease and cream of the Alfredo. The chicken was extremely dry and the overall dish was flavourless. Would not recommend, definitely could get a decent meal elsewhere for cheaper. read more

I went for a food but I having issue no food beacuse in line. My food was cold and I dond like when my food cold. I no Russian I can't handle cold. The seats were comfy though that was good. Hope your day will be warm food and I will be very happy will make it a 5 star! read more

Nice little restaurant in a plaza filled with fast food spots. This is a nice place with standard restaurant decor, slightly on the nicer more minimal design feel for a family restaurant. I ate here on two occasions previous to this and the food is pretty good but nothing crazy. This restaurant is near a retirement community so the crowd is older and the restaurant has a quieter, calm ambiance. Service is a little slower than expected as well but overall a good experience. read more

Friends of ours recommended Scotty's, and we arranged to meet there for lunch. We drove from Toronto; our friends drove from near Owen Sound. That is a long drive for lunch, but there was no disappointment. All four of our meals were very tasty, hot, and more than ample portions. Service was very friendly and timely, to a point. 4 Stars instead of 5 ... only because I felt that the prices were a little high for the area. We have already returned, a week later, and we are already planning for a family dinner to be held here. Good food; friendly staff and a very nice décor. It does not get much better. We went back to Scottys after an absence of 4 years. What can I say!! Same menu just priced higher. You actually have to pay if you want chicken fingers sauced. Never heard of it. The food was ok. Ceasar salad had no bacon -again strange-, the deep fried pickles were amazing. I had the roast beef melt with onions instead of mushrooms. They used cooking onions barely done. Really overpowered the meat. Couldn't finish the meal because of it. The other two dinners were ok. The service still leaves a lot to be desired. 40 minutes to dinner. 20 minutes for apps. We asked to think about dessert 15 minutes later she comes back. The owner seem to hover over us and you could see her talking to the waitress and pointing to us. Don't know why. Would not return because of price, service and there are too many other better restaurants in Barrie. read more

We've been having something of a problem with consistency lately, the steaks have been very poorly cooked (almost blue rare when I've asked for medium) and the Caesar salads can be wretched (withered, yellow lettuce). But if you make sure Jody cooks your steak (ask for him) then the tenderloin is a real treat. Barrielicious was a bit of a letdown as well, the appetizer and dessert offerings could be much better value. read more

I had the Peppercorn Fillet, with veggies & fries, while my dining partner had Beef Dip sandwich. The meat was extremely tender. It's a little pricey, but worth the extra $'s.
