They have a huge selection of cheese that is largely from Quebec, including some organic raw milk cheddar, chevre noir and other pasteruized cheese. They also have a few different local cheeses from Ontario, including a raw sheep's milk cheese and some classic aged cheddars. From the imported selection, my favourites are some of the chevres from France, including Clochette (which is about $19), and the Applewood Smoked Cheddar from England, which is a little cheaper - a large triangle piece cost about $7. The store also carries olive oils, vinegar, jams, specialty crackers (including gluten-free), and olives. I bought a container of large, pitted green olives from Spain for about $2. Their baked items are brought in daily. The loaves of bread and baguettes are from Thuet Bakery and the croissants and danishes (which look amazing) are from Pain Perdu. The girl who works at the front counter is also very friendly! She will even let you sample the cheese to help you decide.

The baked goods are priced even better - similar pastries at other stores are usually more expensive, yet these ones were just as good. The brisket poutine is HUGE and the brisket was delicious - just wish there was more cheese. Service is friendly overall, but they take their time with each order. Lots of seating, but parking situation is not good, and public transport is not convenient - we just ubered here the several times we went.

Once I asked about the price, and the reply was, "Do you REALLY want to know??" Ok, fair enough, I was wearing my everyday clothes and probably looked like I couldn't even afford a sausage. I'll get my husband to go in there, on his way home from work, and see if he can buy a single rib Dry Aged Prime Rib for me to prepare for a Mother's Day gift. Meanwhile, I bought something more economical ....but still kind of luxe. I bought an entire striploin on sale. The price was actually only $1 more than No Frills, and I got 12 steaks!! That will certainly last us a while. After laying 3 aside for our evening meal, I tossed the rest in the freezer. That steak is so great, just butter-basted in a skillet with your favourite aromatics. Despite my above anecdote, Bruno's is not a stuck-up or snobby place at all, but just your neighbourhood butcher. And, if you keep an eye on their specials, it is not to pricey at all. However, you can spend a fortune if you aren't aware of reasonable pricing. As grocery store food prices soar upward, Bruno's prices seem to remain relatively static, in a good way, so that it is worth my money to check it out, especially when they have deals or sales. The grounds are beautiful, great place for a winery, to take pictures and host an event. Parking is limited, but it works. The main building had the wine stating and they also serve snacks and small bites which is a plus when tasting wines. I can definitely picture coming here to enjoy a tasting and having so small bites. A huge plus is it being pet friendly. I love being able to enjoy this place with my little fluff!
