You can choose from a selection of each. We went with a mild Quebec bleu, soft French cheese, duck prosciutto, and cured sausage. They were served with plenty of baguette, gerkins, olives, honey, mustards, and chutney along with apple slices. The chef served the plate and explained each item. It was a terrific, relaxed way to enjoy everything. The wine menu is very carefully selected and are available by the carafe, glass, or small glass. While some of the wine prices may be higher than typical house wines, it is a fantastic way to try a wine without having to buy an entire bottle. Some of the wines would be out of our household budget so it was a treat to be able to try just a glass. There are special housemade cocktails, beer, port, and more tiny plate options. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff was terrific. This is a perfect place to stop when you want a light bite but really thoughtfully selected food.

The setting feels intimate and unpretentious, more like a traditional neighborhood French spot than a polished fine dining restaurant. We started with the cream of leek soup, which was surprisingly well balanced. It had a smooth, comforting texture without the sharpness you might expect from leeks. Paired with bread, it worked particularly well. The house salad was simple but fresh, with a nicely balanced dressing that made it a pleasant starter. The grilled veal liver may not be for everyone -- there's a slight natural intensity to it -- but with the shallot-based sauce, it became more approachable. The texture was firm rather than overly soft. The escargots were well executed and one of the more memorable dishes. Fresh, tender, and clean in presentation. Overall, a solid and honest meal. With wine, it came to around $80 per person, which felt reasonable for the experience. One thing to note -- reservations are still handled the traditional way by phone, and the restaurant keeps a fairly low online presence. A simple, quietly consistent spot that I would consider returning to.

This intimate establishment presents a culinary narrative grounded in tradition--duck, foie gras, and pristine tartare executed with technical precision that speaks to the kitchen's genuine respect for ingredient and technique. The dining environment envelops guests in understated elegance; the restaurant's urbane sophistication is enhanced by thoughtful service that balances attentiveness with discretion. The wine program merits particular commendation, offering a curated selection spanning from reliable house selections to exceptional vintage discoveries. While the execution remains commendable, there remains room for seasonal flexibility in the menu composition. The kitchen would benefit from occasional adjustments that honor the demands of summer's lighter palate, ensuring that even masterfully prepared offerings remain seasonally appropriate. Minor inconsistencies in protein preparation suggest an opportunity for enhanced vigilance at the pass. Yet these measured observations pale against the restaurant's considerable strengths: a commitment to classical French technique, impeccable service, and an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. Auberge du Pommier represents the disciplined pursuit of culinary excellence--a destination for those seeking authentic French dining executed with conviction and grace.

It seems like they are booked out but we gave them a call and they were able to squeeze us in for 5:15pm reservation on Saturday. Underground parking available and they validate it even if you come a bit earlier than your reservation. I love the charming little house exterior and warm country charm interiors. I ordered their salade de lyonnaise, lamb sirloin and chocolate torte. All were good. Though my friend couldn't have any alcohol and the lamb had a red wine sauce, instead they gave her some kind of reduction or au jus sauce with her lamb and it was absolutely delicious, way better than the actual sauce that came with our lamb and beef mains. We ended up using some of her sauce for our dishes too. I also tried the leek soup and pork terrine appetizers, which was also good though I especially liked the salad with the egg on top. The desserts are probably the highlight of my meal. I love the chocolate torte I had at the end and also tasted the apple tarte which was also great. I think for the Winterlicious menu, the quality of desserts are certainly better than other spots I've had. We also enjoyed the drinks, I had a lychee mocktail and my table had some wine and spanish coffee and decaf cappuccino which was also good. The staff was very attentive though my friend, while she told the staff she doesn't have a shrimp allergy she just didn't want shrimp in her soup. Somehow it was served with it but they did later corrected it, which is all good just a minor hiccup. Probably better to just have us eat it for her than bother with the changes.
