I also ordered sugar cookies that tasted really good. I think this may be our new favorite bakery!

Everything was different and tempting. It was difficult to choose just one sweet treat so I left with two. I bought a taro cheesecake bread and an egg tart. Both were slightly sweet and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a few small tables inside for dining and a menu that includes ice cream and bubble tea amongst many other items. Every diner looked happy. If you're looking for something a little different, Amy's is a great place to try.

I saw display cases that contained cupcakes, scones, rolls, cheesecakes, brownies, blondies, etcetera. I purchased four baked goods: one cinnamon roll, two cookies, and one muffin. After I paid several dollars for my four baked goods, I noticed several slips on the wall. The employee said that the slips were prepaid and that customers could use the slips to receive free foods. How nice! I appreciate whoever paid for those slips. I ate my four baked goods at home. The snickerdoodle cookie (5 stars) was one of my favorite snickerdoodles that I have ever eaten in my life. The cinnamon roll (4.5 stars) was a large size and had a sweet maple flavor that I liked. The banana-caramel muffin (4.5 stars) was nicely sweet and was topped with a banana chip. The oatmeal-raisin cookie (4.5 stars) was medium-sized and had the right ratio of ingredients. Overall, Sugar Butter Bakery's selection of baked goods was not large, especially in the late afternoon when I went, but their quality was high. I recommend stopping in Sugar Butter Bakery if you are in the area.

Potomac Bakery is a pleasant stop along a really nice road for walking. The shop smells wonderful…read moreinside, the staff are always friendly, and they often have discounted items available. Quality depends somewhat on what you order, but there is some really good stuff here. Of everything I have tried here, the large cinnamon rolls are my favorite. They have the perfect amount of moistness and softness, use a good amount of cinnamon within the roll, and feature an amazing cream cheese frosting that is not overly sweet and does not overpower the comforting cinnamon flavor. The muffins are also high quality and stay moist throughout the week if you get a dozen. I especially like the almond and cherry flavored muffins. My dad says he cannot tell the difference between the muffins at Potomac bakery and the muffins at Giant Eagle, and that may well be true as Giant Eagle has some good stuff though I have never tried both to compare. They are even better freshly toasted with a little Irish butter on top. If you are going to get a doughnut here, the cream filled ones are probably your best bet because they use high quality cream. I would personally skip the scones because the scones can be a bit dry and bland and are probably my least favorite thing I have tried here. In conclusion I recommend the large cinnamon rolls, the muffins, and if you go for a donut you must get a cream filled one.
