Flavorful paneer kathi roll -- a little spicy but delicious! Great Indian vibes, friendly and considerate staff, quick service, and solo-friendly seating. Plus, the location is perfect near top Toronto tourist spots.

Fish curry rice bowl was decent. There wasn't much fish & it was pretty soft fish. Gobi manchurian bites was good - crispy with a good umami flavour. It was sweeter than usual.

There's Samosa Poutine and then there's Pav Bhaji - bread with vegetarian curry. The right fusion combo and convenient location m in the middle of downtown. I enjoyed my Pav Bhaji, was left wanting for more with the Paani Puri. The ambience was super casual but can be well maintained with regular clean up. The tables and chairs had water dripping and I sat in a pool of water unknowingly. The ac wasn't working the day we visited and it was so stifling we had to ask the severs to open the door for air flow. Granted things happen but opening the door is super basic. Definitely needs improvement from a customer service and ambience standpoint.

I've ordered from here a few times hoping that I would finally find my go-to Indian spot in the neighbourhood, but Chaska is just super mid. The good thing about Chaska is they have some menu options that most tradition spots don't, like the rice bowl with veggies in it, but the flavours of all their dishes constantly underwhelm. It's perfectly average - you never really dislike the food, but you don't really want to order it again either. It might get the job done if you're craving something very specific, but there are definitely better options around.

We stopped by for a snack and split the mango lassi, pav bhaji, and pani poori. The cashier asked if we wanted more bread for the pav bhaji and we said no but later regretted it! The mango lassi was tart with a strong mango flavor. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The pav bhaji definitely could have used more bread. The curry itself had a nice flavor and I especially liked the freshness from the lime and raw onions, but I wish the curry was a little more spicy. I also wish the curry was a little thicker. The pani poori was unfortunately quite disappointing. The potatoes which came with the dish were severely underseasoned and really dry. The spiced water barely added any extra flavor and wasn't enough to rescue the dryness of the potatoes.

They have fusion Indian food. I had the Pab Bhaji without cheese, pani puri and samosas. All good. Our group was quite big and we had Kathi roll, butter chicken and samosa tenders. Food is good. Service friendly. They have seating space inside. Try it. I have got to go back for chaat and pani puri.

Donations if you purchase a samosa during October

I couldn't resist the Falooda drinks that the store promotes with posters at the front entrance. The first time I was there, I tried the chai flavour. You should give it a go if you love chai and bubble tea. Instead of tapioca, you get a textural component from the noodles and seeds. I asked the server what they preferred the most from their Falooda flavours, they suggested rose. I ordered rose on my next visit. Not my cup of tea but maybe yours if you like floral flavours. I suggest mixing the bottom up before taking a sip! I got hit high with a strong rose syrup on my first sip. I love what they have done to the interior decor and the story behind the business, definitely a fun take to Indian cuisine you typically see in Toronto. From the promo in-store, they also have a donation component. From now until October, part of the proceeds from samosas would be supporting Trillium Health. Check out a store near you! You'll find a Chaska in Sauga, Atrium on Bay and North York as well.

The butter chicken had no flavour. The naan was store bought, the best part was the rice.

Excellent. Portions are nice, but a bit pricey. Nice selection of typical Indian street food.

The place was small and I almost missed the sign! When we entered, an older gentleman greeted us warmly and took us to a seat at the back. He brought us water and informed us that if we have any questions, he would be happy to answer them. We decided to try their thali (for two people, a part of the dinner menu). My neighbors picked Utsav Thali (2 non-vegetarian and 1 vegetarian) and so did we. For drinks, they ordered tea and we ordered masala chai. Everything was delicious- the food came hot and fresh, and the flavours were rich and deep. Plus, the portion size reflected the price point. We ate like royalty! We were too full, so we did not get a chance to try the desserts. Delicious food, friendly service, and quiet ambiance- a hidden gem in Yorkville area!

Going there on an early weekday evening, the place was fairly quiet and we received exceptionally warm service from the owner. The ambiance was muted and elegant, despite being a small space. I ordered the eggplant bharta, which turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. The smoky flavour of the eggplant blended exquisitely with the various spices - I also loved that the texture was slightly more chunky than usual. I could tell that they definitely toned down the heat a little, which I appreciated - just make sure to let them know if you prefer otherwise. My friend enjoyed her paneer dish very much as well, and in fact was so impressed by the restaurant (or maybe was hallucinating) that she swore the water was somehow special as it tasted sweet...spoiler, it was just tap water. An unexpectedly wonderful find! I suppose I will be frequenting the area more often.

They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more. So they gave us four samosas on the house! So nice of them. Husband definitely enjoyed these.

Rich spices, buttery warmth... it was the kind of smell that stops conversations. Everyone working there was Indian, and they were all clearly just trying to wrap up my account so they could dig into whatever just got delivered. I had to ask--where's that food from? "Kothur," they said, almost in unison. That was the recommendation, and it stuck with me. I walked by the place once. The exterior didn't scream "hidden gem." Thought about ordering delivery a few times but never followed through. Life, you know? Today, I finally went. From the outside, still nothing to write home about. But walk in, and it's a different story. Clean, cozy, and exactly the kind of no-fuss Indian spot you'd expect to stumble upon in the heart of a big city. The food? Solid. Spices landed right. If you ever find yourself sniffing the air near a phone shop and wondering what that divine smell is--it might just be Kothur. TL;DR Not flashy. Surprisingly good. Smelled it before I tasted it. Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
