Kids menu Mac and broccolini. Pretty good

This was a tough one. We dined here for my aunts birthday on a Friday evening at 5 pm. Host and initial seating: 1 star. Not friendly. I understand it was busy but no guidance or direction or estimate or information. Seated late which isn't a big deal. We got a table that didn't have a good view and saw an empty one of the same size 2 tables over. We asked to be seated there and she told us. We would have to wait, that she doesn't know how long, and that everyone is celebrating something. We decided to take the initial seats.we called to ask for special printed menus for the birthday and confirmed. There was no menu and the host again was rude and just said she doesn't know anything about it. No apology, no offer to resolve. There is a tiny bar area you can go to wait. She didn't tell us about it. And there isn't much room (maybe why she didn't say anything ) Server. 5 stars. He was extra accommodating and friendly and I think he felt bad by the hosts dismissive responses. Food. Mix ratings. Big portions. Prime rib: chewy. 3 stars. Would not recommend Blackened salmon. Good. Maybe 3.5 stars. Kind of dry Bronzed salmon. Really good. 4.5 stars.juicy and cooked well. Lobster tail add in was cooked well also but small. Flounder francese 5 stars. Lots of flavor on this one. Perfectly crispy on most of it. But some parts could be a little hard. Would order again. Shrimp cocktail. Delicious. 5 stars. View; 5 stars. Parking. They have valet. Looks like a lot of people park in the street. Even at 5 pm it was packed. Valet folks were really friendly. Highly recommend to go get the Landry's gift card from Costco. It's worth it with that discount.

What a lovely time we had at The Chart House! Shandrea was our server and she was just so lovely and accommodating. I took my mom for her birthday and they brought her a yummy piece of cake at the end. Mom ordered the grilled salmon with Israeli Couscous and it was delicious! Salmon cooked perfectly. I opted the shellfish route with oysters and mussels which were quite good. Beautiful view of the harbor as well. Seafood restaurants usually are a bit pricier but this place was worth it.

I always have a great experience at this chart house location. The views are spectacular. I enjoy the happy hour as well as the chart your own course dinners. They always have excellent service and a manager is typically in and makes sure you're having a good experience.

We dined here to celebrate my aunt's birthday with family from Chicago and our experience was amazing! Besides the views of the ocean and the cool architecture, our server was so friendly and attentive. She just brought a great vibe to the table and was so patient with us. Everything we ordered was delicious, I like the course option that included soup/salad, entree, and dessert. Calamari and shrimp mango stacks are must try's. Steaks were all cooked to the perfect temperature. We'll definitely come back soon.

Lobster tails with veggie medley. SO good

We brought our mom here for Mother's Day and it was absolutely wonderful! All of the staff were very kind and accommodating and our server Shandrea was absolutely amazing. They had a "holiday menu" for Mother's Day that did not disappoint. The views were beautiful, we will definitely be back!

A solid 3.5 stars I visited on a Wednesday evening and loved the cool, concrete architecture, however the service didn't match the decor. Our server was hard to flag down and brought out half the meals 15 minutes before the rest of the meals were served. So, 1/2 of the table has cold food. The hummus arrived with four cold, hard pieces of premade naan, and I had to wait another 10 minutes for my missing salad dressing before I could even start eating. While the rest of the food was an 8/10, the poor timing and lack of attention really brought down the experience.

A great experience from beginning to end! The valet was so incredibly nice - what a welcoming guy. Hostess was very sweet & engaging while seating us. She accommodated our patio request - amazing view Our server, Daniel, was on point from beginning to end. Very friendly, great suggestions and our meal timed out perfectly. He really made our experience fantastic. Food: Ahi appetizer - great Crab Cake - amazing Lobster Bisque - yummy Balsamic dressing on chopped - YUM! Grilled Sea Bass & harvest veg - SO GOOD Chimmichuri Steak - fantastic All desserts - ooh la la Thank you so much for a great experience! My Mom loved everything about her day.

This is a wonderful place for happy hour and wine dinners. We have been to three wine dinners so far. Tonight's dinner is Stag's' Leap. Everything is delicious and paired perfectly. We had the bruschetta, avocado blinis, single bone lamb loin, steak frites, and citrus olive oil cake. We will be back. Happy Yelping!

Great Ambiance and pretty good view from every table.

We had a fabulous time at the Chart House. The ambiance, service and food were all excellent. My favorite was the Lobster bisque, but our main course , Swordfish with mango habanero sticky rice was delicious. Our waitress Samantha was so attentive and surprised me with a red velvet dessert - it was moist and delicious. :0)

I visited Chart House on a Saturday evening with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday. This was our second time visiting for a birthday celebration, & it was just as enjoyable as the first. Our table had a great view of the harbor, which was perfect for watching the sunset. We ordered the coconut crunchy shrimp & whipped ricotta meatballs to share with the table. I had the lobster bisque, my mom tried the spiced ahi, my sister got the caesar salad, & my dad chose the captain's herb-crusted, slow-roasted prime rib. The service was great & the staff was very accommodating throughout our meal. We also appreciated them bringing out a cake to celebrate my dad's birthday. Already looking forward to our next visit!

The Chart House has some of the best views in OC! It sits on the top of the hill overlooking the Dana Point Harbor. I love the ability to sit on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous views. Also, you can enjoy happy hour from 4pm - 6pm and they have some great choices. Today we got a glass of wine, iced tea, artichoke dip, lettuce wraps and fries for all less than $40! Our server was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!

Half Dozen Oysters Rockefeller. Warm with diced (sweet) red peppers and melted cheese contrasted by oceanic flavors.

The main entrance starts at the top of the restaurant, working your way down into the dining area via a narrow spiral staircase. Designed with curvilinear lines, the building embraces natural movement as one moves from space to space. The main dining room feels open and communal; its booths are nestled along the edge and flanked by thick angled concrete walls. Each booth has their own spectacular view of Dana Point Harbor and neighboring coastal communities further south. The vibe is rebellious elegance: bold, unconventional, yet familiarly classy. THE FOOD. - Bread Basket (Complimentary) | Fresh sweet brown bread, dinner roll, and crackers. - Half Dozen Oysters Rockefeller | Warm with diced (sweet) red peppers and melted cheese contrasted by oceanic flavors. It sounds odd, but it feels right. - Prime Rib (10 oz.) | Thinner cut, but still marbled and very flavorful with au jus added. The creamy horseradish is mild with a hint of peppery spice. Mashed potatoes are creamy with little chunks of potato. The carrot is deliciously cooked to a crisp, chip-like texture. Recommend trying this dish out. - Caesar Salad | Shaved Parmesan, crunchy croutons, and creamy Caesar dressing tossed in. The flavors complimented each other without overpowering. - Creamed Spinach | Rich and velvety with crumbled croutons on top. - Lava Cake | Chocolate oozes out after cutting into it! Vanilla ice cream creates a cooling contrast from the cake. So deliciously decadent. THE DRINKS DRINKS. - Mango Mojito | Seemed to be more sour and less mango-flavored. - Black Cherry Mojito | Beautifully balanced cocktail. Sweet black cherry flavor with a tangy edge and refreshing finish. - Zuccardi Serie A Malbec ('23 Mendoza Argentina) | Fruity, sweet, and slightly smoky. The finish is smooth. THE PARKING. Valet parking is $8. There's street parking, but read the signs to make sure you can park there. THE RETURN. Loved the vibe! Looking forward to coming back and trying their Alaskan cod!

Found this place while on anniversary trip. Happy hour is where it is at! We spent like $48 on 4 delicious apps and 2 drinks. And the view is priceless. It was a bit of a luck of the draw on getting a table... but we got one by the window and it was legit. Eden was really sweet and welcoming. Ok the lettuce wraps are a. MUST! The peanut sauce should be bottled. The sliders and fries were good and the coconut shrimp were a bit of a miss. But again, for the price it was amazing! They were "fancy" but there were a few missing technicalities... the bussers were a little less professional and the heaters were disheveled and blocking the views. those are both just observations that didn't impact my want to go back. Honestly the worst part was hoping to get a table for happy hour.... we got lucky! We will be back for lettuce wraps for sure!

She went above and beyond in ways both big and small, and it made all the difference. Her space is absolutely beautiful. It has such an artsy, welcoming feel and was perfect for our 80 person reception. The lighting created a magical atmosphere, the sound system worked flawlessly, and the indoor outdoor flow gave guests room to mingle, relax, and celebrate comfortably. One of the most generous touches was allowing us to use her home for staging the bride and groom. That level of trust and hospitality meant so much to our family. Throughout the entire process, she was accommodating, helpful, and always available with a calm, reassuring presence. If you are looking for a venue with heart, creativity, and an owner who truly cares, this is it. We are so grateful for everything she did to make the celebration unforgettable.

Cate is professional, responsive, and genuinely collaborative. Communication is clear. Load-in is organized. The space is clean and well maintained. When a venue runs this smoothly, it reduces friction for vendors and creates a better experience for clients and guests. That kind of operational competence doesn't happen by accident. The design is what makes this venue distinct. The short-throw projectors transform the walls into a fully immersive aquarium or fishbowl environment. It's not a novelty effect; it's a production tool. For weddings, the room can feel atmospheric and romantic. For corporate events, branded visuals wrap the space in a way that feels custom and high-end. Few venues at this size offer that level of visual flexibility. From an audio standpoint, the room performs extremely well. We run MagiCali, a Southern California mobile DJ company specializing in weddings and corporate events, and we evaluate every room through a production lens. We look at ceiling height, wall material, reflection patterns, power distribution, and how low-end energy travels across a dancefloor. We've worked in luxury ballrooms, outdoor coastal venues, private estates, and converted industrial spaces. The Fish Tank is one of the rare venues where you don't have to compensate for the room. Speeches are articulate and easy to understand. Dinner music sits comfortably without overwhelming conversation. When it's time to transition into dancing, the room holds energy evenly instead of creating hot spots or dead zones. That tells you the space was built and tuned with care. For clients, that technical quality translates into confidence. You don't have to worry about muddy sound during toasts or harsh reflections once the music turns up. The venue supports the event instead of fighting it. There are many event spaces in Orange County. Very few combine strong visual identity, flexible projection capability, solid acoustics, and hands-on ownership. The Fish Tank is an undiscovered gem, and for what Cate currently charges, it represents exceptional value. It would not be surprising to see this venue commanding significantly higher rates in the near future. If you're planning a wedding, private celebration, or corporate event in Dana Point or Capistrano Beach, this space deserves serious consideration. It's distinctive, technically sound, and professionally run -- exactly the kind of venue that allows a well-executed event to shine.

I (the bride) was working in the area when I stopped by Aventura Ocean Club by myself at first to check the venue out. I loved it so much I had to bring my now husband back as soon as we got back from a mini vacation and on that day, we secured the location. Just imagine an amazing view of the harbor and sailboats while feeling relaxed in a room that is modern, intimate and designed well. This venue is NOT old school like some weddings that we have all been to, its updated and amazing. Besides the view, another huge selling point is the largest wrap around balcony I have seen at a wedding. Aventura Ocean Club sets up couches, chairs, and a firepit outside for the guests to enjoy while they are not inside. We had our wedding on 8/10/2019 and we have nothing but great things to say about the venue. We got married at Heritage Park in Dana Point (Simone coordinated all of this) and had our reception at Aventura Ocean Club. I am still getting compliments to this day about the venue, the view, the decorations, the food, the grand entrance that we did (think sail boat entrance) and even the florals, DJ and photographer we used (all who came recommended from Simone). We could not have asked for a better wedding and we are truly pleased. It is obvious Simone cares about her clients and truly believes in marriage and happiness, she was wonderful to work with. A few helpful hints about this venue: 1. It is intimate but fit 100 people on the inside with no issue. 2. Your guests will rave about the sail boat grand entrance if you choose this option. 3. If you use their wedding package/coordinating services (which you should in a heartbeat) your event will look even better than you imagined but with your style through and through. 4. Simone/Aventura Ocean Club/Orange County Beach Weddings and all her recommended vendors will give you the wedding of your dreams. 5. This was in our price range where a lot of other beach/beachy/coastal venues were significantly more money and you had to do everything yourselves.

The lunch menu offers a great variety of classic American favorites, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and hearty entrées. Some highlights include their signature Hills Burger on a brioche roll, roasted turkey cobb sandwich, pastrami sandwich, and fresh salads like the Cobb or chicken Caesar. Everything is thoughtfully prepared and perfect for a satisfying midday meal. I ordered lunch and was immediately impressed by the quality of the food. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and everything came out perfectly prepared. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their dishes. It's the kind of place where simple menu items are executed really well. What truly made the experience stand out was our server, Matthew. His service was exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional throughout the entire meal. Matthew checked in at the perfect moments without being intrusive and made sure we had everything we needed. It's rare to find service that feels both genuine and polished, and he absolutely delivered that level of hospitality. Such a unique and personalized stay! Every little detail is covered from the fulfillment of a…read morepersonalized request during the pre-check text less than a week before to offering soothing bath salts to my wife for the large jacuzzi bath free of charge when we were asked how the room was shortly after check-in by the sweet front desk attendant Leslie while being handed complimentary champagne. Leslie also informed us of the complimentary bikes to use if we wanted to explore the town and how we were just in time to enjoy the complimentary wine and cheese from 4-5:30 in the common area. We grabbed our free bubbly, the vanilla bath salts for my wife to enjoy later, and proceeded to enjoy the cheese and assorted treats on the outdoor patio overlooking Dana Point. No better way to unwind! Pro tip: NEVER EVER SKIP THE FRESH BAKED COOKIES! The property is the perfect size to remain quaint like a bed and breakfast but big enough that you don't feel obligated to know each person coming and going. I would admit being in our mid 40's, we were on the younger side of guests during our stay, but this was a welcome surprise for us as we were looking for a quiet getaway for the evening for our 9 year wedding anniversary. The room was 212 which is an ADA accessible room but this I believe was provided at the special request of having a bathtub for my wife who values her baths on her getaways! The room faces the parking lot but this is a small sacrifice for what the true payoff was which was the special request... The giant jacuzzi tub which did not disappoint. It was large enough to fit two adults (not that we tried or anything *wink wink). The jets worked great and my wife raved about them. The room came with luxurious robes and slippers and all bath products were either local or unique brand. The room also came with a fireplace that was gas which started with the flip of a light switch. Another beautiful touch. It is always hard to find a bed that is comfortable enough while away from home as we are spoiled by our sleep number at home but this bed did the trick (which most chain or corporate hotels cannot accomplish!). The linens were soft and the room came with extra pillows and blankets on hand without having to ask for more. The complementary breakfast buffet in the morning was not your standard spread. It felt more refined and focused on the details. It was not your scrambled eggs from powder. It was two sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection. It wasn't generic underripe fruit, it was perfectly ripe fruit with an assortment of sides. My wife raved about the yogurt and toppings as did I about the oatmeal and toppings. Overall this could not have been a better short 1 night getaway for my wife and I to enjoy away from the hectic everyday life. It truly felt like we slowed down time and the blue lantern Inn accomplished all we needed in having a successful start to our anniversary celebrations.

Totally wonderful!!! Staff the grounds the room. The best. Can not wait to go back.read more
