We came to Bourbon Steak to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and it was our first time dining here. We've tried almost all of the well-known steakhouses in Orange County, and Bourbon Steak was by far one of our best experiences, if not the best. Everything was excellent. We had the Filet Mignon, Delmonico (Ribeye), and the Wagyu steak special, along with the Truffle Mac & Cheese, Potato Purée, and Mushrooms. The Wagyu filet was exceptionally tender and delicious, and every steak was cooked exactly the way we requested. The quality of the food was outstanding. Our server, Dulce, was wonderful, very friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made our anniversary dinner feel extra special, and the rest of the staff was just as warm and professional. One of the highlights of the evening was when Chef Justin personally brought us a complimentary caviar appetizer. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. Later, the restaurant manager also surprised us with a complimentary cake and ice cream to help us celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, which made the evening feel even more special. I very rarely give a restaurant a full five-star rating, but Bourbon Steak absolutely deserves five stars. Beyond the excellent quality of the food, a big reason for that rating was the exceptional service from Dulce, Chef Justin, the manager, and the rest of the team. Another wonderful part of the experience is the location. Since the restaurant is inside the beautiful Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort, you can also enjoy the resort grounds and atmosphere before or after dinner, which makes the whole evening even more enjoyable. The combination of excellent food, beautiful surroundings, and outstanding service made our 20th anniversary dinner truly memorable. We've visited many great steakhouses throughout Orange County, but Bourbon Steak really stood out. We will definitely be back. read more

We've dined at Bourbon several times over the years and have always had wonderful experiences, which is why we chose it for a much-needed date night away from the kids. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Unfortunately, my heirloom tomato salad arrived with a thick black hair in it, which was incredibly unappetizing and completely ruined the dish. It was especially disappointing because this is not something I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The manager came over, sincerely apologized, and removed the salad from our bill, which we appreciated. While I understand that mistakes can happen, it was still a disappointing experience at a restaurant that has always held such high standards. I'm hopeful this was just an isolated incident because we've always enjoyed dining here in the past. read more

We came here as a party of eight for dinner, and oh my gosh, we ordered so much food! 2- tomahawk steaks, a Black Angus filet, toro, wagyu fried rice, creamed spinach, Caesar salad, Wagyu carpaccio... honestly, I can't even remember everything just look at my photos...hahaa Our steaks were cut up for us at the table, and the presentation was absolutely perfect. Everyone really enjoyed their food my friends were obsessed with the tomahawk steaks. I don't eat steak myself, but I loved everything else we tried. We also got the basque cheesecake, and oh my God, it was amazing. The complimentary fries with different dipping sauces were so good, and the bread with butter melted in your mouth...mmmm! Thomas, our server, was fantastic. You can tell the staff really pay attention to detail, and if anything goes wrong, they own up to it and make it right. Minor mix up and they took care of us. Our bill was definitely on the higher side, but it was a well-deserved celebration, and every bite was worth it. We've been here several times, and it's always been a great experience. Wonderful experience here at Bourbon during our stay at the Waldorf. The ambiance was excellent. The staff were attentive. The service was superb. Shoutout to Gio! We ate outside on the balcony with ocean view which was extraordinary. We started off with chef's complimentary fries trio platter and bread service. Honestly, we were already feeling kinda full then, but then the food came. We ordered the angus New York strip, whole branzino, truffle mac and cheese, and Brussel sprouts. All were super delicious! Steak cooked to perfection, crispy fish skin, succulent Brussel sprouts, cheesy but not too cheesy mac n cheese. What's not to love? Plenty of seating. We were staying the weekend at the Waldorf and we wanted to try fancy Bourbon Steak House. Everything about Waldorf was customer service and luxury! If the weather is nice, ask for the patio. During sunset, the view is breathtaking! We had some time before our reservation so we had a drink at the lobby bar right next to Bourbon, the seating is so comfy and the drinks are top quality. I'm not a steak person at all but my man is and he was very impressed! I'm a side dish type of girl and everything was so delicious. The fries at the start with the sauces - yum!! Wine was great too. Located inside the Waldorf Hotel, go straight inside and make a left! They do valet parking for $10. We had a reservation at 6:30pm for Christmas dinner and were seated just within a few minutes. Service was excellent and we couldn't ask for better. They were constantly checking in on us. We had the Christmas menu for about $205 per person. Interior is classic and beautiful, they have different wine bottles/alcohol displayed on the glass shelves. Fries dipped in different sauces (ketchup, truffle sauce, onion dip) were all 10/10. Truffle spring rolls were actually really delicious, 9/10. Ahi tartare was okay, I would rate 7/10. For our entrees, I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and came with a baked potato and tomato. The way they cooked the tomato was delicious as well, never seen anything like it before. My boyfriend had the ribeye also paired with the potato and tomato but he says some parts of the steak were too hard and chewy. For dessert, we had cheesecake which was wonderful 10/10 and butterscotch beignets which were too chewy and dry, it was difficult to finish, although the butterscotch dip was amazing. We came on a Friday night with 5:30 reservations. Was originally going to be seated at a booth by the bar but requested to be in the main dining room where there was less thoroughfare. Our server was thorough and provided great explanation and recommendations of the menu. Food: I had the 45 dry aged steak which had fantastic flavor but it was a bit more chewy than the Delmonico steak my friend had. They offer complimentary trio of fries with dipping sauce and a truffle butter roll which was both delicious. Beverage: the army navy new style was delicious! I was glad they had a variety of nonalcoholic options that were not mocktails since my friend doesn't drink. Thomas was my waiter, and he was superb! He did not miss a beat and the entire staff gave me Michelin Star rated service in my book! This is the fanciest steakhouse I've ever been to in my entire life. It's inside the resort.. I don't remember the name of the resort though. I made a reservation for 530 so we can watch the sunset but it was gloomy :( The food made up for it though Honestly my favorite was the garlic brioche truffle bread, it was DELIGHTFUL. I would've been down to eat that for my whole meal honestly. Also the complimentary fries are fried in duck fat and they give you 3 different flavors of fries and dipping sauce! I hate to say that these 2 were my favorite but they were.. I got ceasar salad, blue crab pasta, and a 6oz a5 Wagyu steak. The salad is deconstructed and not tossed and I did enjoy the taste but not the mess it made. The blue crab pasta was delicious! But then it started getting too fishy for my taste and I couldn't finish it. The chili crisp on top really made it so much better. I could NOOTTTTT eat the steak Omygod I wanted to THROW up. It's not the steak, it's me. I forgot how much I disliked the texture of Wagyu and I made a mistake agreeing to share the Wagyu cus I had to eat most of it and I didn't want to waste it cus it was expensive but damn I'm sorry !!' My wife brought me here for dinner last night and we had a wonderful time. Located in the Waldorf, this restaurant is a vibe. We came around sunset and were seated on the patio, which I highly recommend doing if you visit (also make a reservation because this place gets very busy). Service was amazing here, probably the best service for any steakhouse I've been to in OC. The staff were super friendly and made excellent recommendations throughout the entire meal. I also appreciated the birthday treats at the end of the meal which were a pleasant surprise. On the food front, there were a lot of great things - loved the grilled branzino, mac & cheese, oysters, loaded baked potato, and house bread with butter inside it. The rib eye filet was good, but slightly overcooked ( I also expected something with a bit more marbling given it was considered "wagyu", so that was a letdown). While I appreciated the French fries at the start of the meal for their creativity, they were a bit overcooked and dry. Overall there was a lot of good, but still a few misses. Definitely one of the better steakhouses in OC, especially for the service and ambiance. I'd absolutely come back to try other items, and recommend this place if you're looking for a good spot for a celebratory meal. read more

Food was prepared well and the quality was excellent -- except for the shrimp (our waiter was kind enough to deduct that from our bill since my wife couldn't eat it). It was a little tough and had an off (very fishy) taste. The other dishes were excellent including the sea bass and filet mignon. Brussels sprouts and carrots were delicious. The complimentary fries and sauces are a nice touch. Dinner rolls are also delicious. Wine list is very good with plenty of selections. Prices are a little even for a high-end steakhouse. If you order steak, they sometimes tend to overcook it (I ordered medium rare but it was medium well). The biggest issue is that there are no restrooms inside the restaurant. You have to walk out into the hotel corridor down the hallways into the conference room area. Service as always was top notch. All waiters were friendly and helpful. We came on a Saturday night without a reservation and the place was completely booked, but luckily the bar was full service and they sat us right away. Our bartender was amazing, super attentive and made the night so fun. They even surprised us with free fries, and the bread was seriously next-level good. This was our first time at Bourbon steak. This is for an anniversary dinner. Keep in mind we have had our anniversary dinner for a decade plus at the Ritz Carlton and ever since Covid. We just don't enjoy the restaurants anymore. Eno steak used to be our favorite. We made a reservation for an early meal because I actually had a commitment at 8:30 that evening. We were able to pull up to valet and enter the hotel into the lobby area, which had some guests, but not that many. We were warmly greeted by the host stand and seated outside. Inside was rather full with lots of families and young kids so actually this worked out pretty well. By the time we left around 815 every area of the restaurant and lobby was packed. I think the ambience inside and outside definitely very we overlooked the pool area and grounds which was nice and saw some sunset. Next time, maybe we'll try to eat inside for a different vibe. Our server was super nice and acknowledged our anniversary. We loved having the amused Bouche at the beginning of meal which were FRIES! They came with some dipping sauces, which were fantastic. We also ordered a seafood platter, which was delicious. We also shared a steak and a loaded potato. The potato was nothing special and we actually thought the steak was a little overcooked. An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Bourbon Steak Bourbon Steak at the Waldorf Astoria in Laguna Niguel is nothing short of exceptional. We kicked things off with the Bourbon Trolley, an experience in itself. Smoked Old Fashioneds are made tableside using the freshest ingredients, and Maitre d' Lyle absolutely nailed it. We tried both versions: one crafted with Angel's Envy from Michael Mina's private barrel selection--smooth and elegant--and the other with Whistle Pig 10-Year Single Barrel Rye, which had a bold spice that made it my favorite. The precision and care taken in the drink presentation--chilling the mixing glass, pouring down the side to preserve the crystal-clear cube--was next level. While sipping our cocktails, we enjoyed a flight of truffle fries and the most amazing garlic butter rolls, soft and warm with what I think was a touch of sea salt. These alone were memorable. For the main course, we shared the Steak Sampler, featuring Japanese A5 Wagyu, Snake River Farms American Wagyu, and Ribeye Cap--15 ounces of pure perfection. Everything was cooked exactly right, rich in flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The black truffle mac & cheese was indulgent and the ideal complement. And a big shoutout to our server, Leo, who was absolutely outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He made the evening feel both special and relaxed. Came here for my wife's birthday and boy was it an experience. I recommend making a reservation and requesting the patio. When arriving you have to valet your car as there's no other parking, but you can get it validated at the restaurant and with validation it'll be $10. It was pretty chilly even though we wanted to catch the sunset, luckily they have heaters per person outside and they also brought my wife a blanket. The service here was amazing tbh. The price of food is comparable to mastros, but the service here is a lot better. They're pretty attentive and have 2 people per table checking on you. For food, we got 3 complimentary apps. 1. potato puree 3/5 2. French fry sampler 5/5 there was 3 types of seasonings on the fries and then 3 types of dips. My wifes favorite was the truffle dip and mine was simply just the ketchup as the fries themselves had their own seasonings LOL 3. truffle butter infused bread 7/5 holyhell...bread was amazing. When you bite in truffle butter will come out. Sooo freaking rich but delicious. Ordered: Wagyu trio, i believe it was a striploin, rib cap, a5 roughly $300. The rib cap was the best not too fatty but fatty enough. the A5, was way too fatty. I believe it's just how it's cut, it's a lot thicker than going to a Japanese bbq serving A5. Ribeye Cap special with applewood smoke roughly $125? (receipt to be posted) pretty much same as from the trio but more pieces as the trio is 4oz of each vs this was i believe 8 oz. Apps truffle mac n cheese 5/5 - pasta cooked al dente, but not too hard and great flavor of the truffle mac n cheese broccolini 3/5 sounded great but the chili peppers on it were honestly tough, didn't really contribute much as it wasn't too spicy either Wagyu fried rice 4/5 - wife's other favorite. Dessert Souffle de jour - 5/5 it was a lychee flavor, but not too overpowering. Just enough to taste it and it was paired beautifully with vanilla bean ice cream. Overall, 5/5 experience coming here. You definitely get what you pay for vs some other places you're paying a few hundred dollars and not getting full with bad service. Shout out to the manager Lyle for making it right and making our occasion special. We had celebrated a special occasion at our time at bourbon steak. This lovely steakhouse is located inside the beautiful Waldorf Astoria. Was warmly greeted at valet and at the check in desk of the restaurant. We had an inside table but close by the door so that we could see outside and the sun setting. Our waitress was Nicole, she made our first experience here amazing, thank you! We ordered the cocktail shrimp and oysters, Delmonico rib eye steak and chili crunch broccolini (forgot a picture of the side and steak cause I was so excited to eat lol) while waiting for our food we got a trio of friends and the brioche bread. Both were sooo good! The bread was warm and soft and I loved how it was so buttery! The fries were also so good. It was fried in duck fat, so it was crispy, hot and all the dips it came with complemented the fries well. The seafood we ordered tasted so fresh and was good as well. The oysters were sweet and I like that the size wasn't too big as I enjoy the small ones better. The shrimp were big, sweet and I like how it was garnished for us. The steak came out hot and cooked to the right temperature of medium rare. It had a nice crust and was seasoned well and we enjoyed that with some truffle butter. The broccolini was good well but had a nice crunch and nice flavor and they give you a good amount of it which I liked. And last but not least we got the wild berry soufflé which I have never had but so glad I got to try it the other night. It was warm, soft, light and you could taste the berries. The ice cream was a nice touch and brought the dessert together. This place is a definite must go in OC!
