With that we decided to eat next door at HK BBQ and while we waited for our number to be called. I went back to Ohana Cravings to see maybe the staff were running late. Upon thorough inspection i noticed a note from the building manager, apparently the business owner is either defaulted on their lease or abandoned their business. When she finally came over to unlock the door, she was having a hard time with the lock, like a really hard time. When she got the door unlocked, she held it open, I spoke, she said nothing, just smiled. Not a big deal, but if I speak, SPEAK BACK!!! Ordered the Pineapple Coconut Wontons and here comes another problem. She then was having issues with the register ringing up my order for me to pay. My order was done before I paid, because of the system, taking it's time...I guess. When my total popped up on the screen, it was much higher than I expected. Then I realized, it auto populated a tip on there. Anyone not paying attention, can easily miss that, and I'm one of those people that goes through prompts fast. But I knew my total should have been in the $8 range and it was $10 and some change. When I took the tip off, it went back down to $8. They are one of those places, that charge for using a card as well. On the other hand, the wontons were good.

You get your protein laid out on a bed of steamed veggies, a few scoops of rice, and a scoop of Mac salad. As far as I know, they don't allow substitutions. I eat brown rice but not white rice, so I would prefer to be able to swap it for extra veggies.

After coming here with a coworker we loved it and decided to have them cater our employee appreciation lunch. Ordering with them was very easy and they explained to me the different prices along with how many people it served. The prices were very reasonable! I ended up ordering the BBQ chicken and the BBQ beef rice and that incredible macaroni salad. When going In To pay I was introduced to Jerry who was very nice and accommodating to me and my co worker. He asked if we had tried their steak and went back and cooked some for us and it was amazing! We ended up adding the steak to our order. On the day of the pickup the order was fresh off the grill and they helped us to our car and the other owner Anna came and introduced herself to us as well! After we served to our company we had rave reviews about the food and everyone wanted to know where they were located. I'm looking forward to eating here on a weekly basis! Walking through the doors, you're hit with the delicious smell of food, cooling AC, and the friendly greetings of workers. The place has a chic monochromatic look, is very clean and even has a paper bag for recyclable bottles. Food is made to order and there is a window behind the counter that allows a peek into the kitchen. The chicken katsu comes out hot and crispy and is to die for. I usually don't like adding sauces like katsu and teriyaki to my foods, but the sauces here are great. The katsu sauce is just the right balance of sweet and savory with a kick of spice. And the teriyaki sauce isn't overly sweet or thick. The steak is flavorful and tastes like it's good quality. The char broiled chicken is tender and has a nice smokey flavor without being dry at all. Seems to me to have a ghetto feel, magic marker signs around that state this that or the other is not included and additional charges for other things also written in marker. I've been coming here for years. And I always order the katsu chicken. There was consistency in my orders. They were always the same. The chicken was fluffy and crispy, and macoroni salad was flavorful. But today my chicken was overcooked and charred. When I would bite it, it felt rubbery. And the macoroni salad tasted bland. Do not work here. Do not eat here. Seriously…read more Joyce Burger in Jurupa Valley is one of the most poorly run and unprofessional places I've ever come across. This place appears to be intentionally understaffed, with only 2-3 employees expected to run the entire restaurant at once--handling cashiering, drive-thru, cooking, cleaning, and trash all at the same time. It's chaotic, overwhelming, and completely unsustainable. The treatment of employees is even worse. Workers are expected to stay and continue working 30+ minutes AFTER clocking out. That is not just unethical--it appears to be a clear violation of labor laws. On top of that, schedules are not even provided until the morning of, yet employees are expected to show up early or adjust their entire day at management's convenience. There is zero respect for people's time or lives outside of work. Management is extremely inconsistent and dismissive. In one situation, an employee had a legitimate emergency and was told--rudely--to "think about the business," with no concern or empathy whatsoever. But when that same employee later quit, management had the nerve to complain about not receiving a two-week notice, despite never offering employees the basic courtesy of advance scheduling. The hypocrisy is unreal. There are also serious food safety concerns that should not be ignored. Employees are expected to handle cash and then immediately prepare food without proper handwashing being enforced. There are also reports of old fries being reused and fryer oil not being changed regularly, which raises major questions about cleanliness and food quality. Overall, this is not a professional environment in any sense. Between the way employees are treated, the lack of basic organization, and the concerning food handling practices, this is a place that needs to be looked into. Spend your money somewhere else.
