It was the weirdest experience because I had asked them to clarify and even explained this to them when I was finished. If they weren't able to match all the nails, I would have been ok just getting the pedicure. Like how are you going to send a girl with unmatched nails?

It's very much a come-in-and-get-out type of place, which can be convenient, but I do think that comes at the expense of the overall experience. Both my manicure and pedicure felt rushed, and throughout the service I found myself having to point out things that I normally wouldn't expect to manage myself cuticles that still needed cleaning, polish that needed to be corrected, or a nail that had been filed unevenly. I don't mind speaking up, but when you're paying upwards of $80 for a basic manicure and pedicure, I don't think you should have to continuously check the work as it's being done. I don't necessarily need a nail appointment to feel like a spa day, but I do want it to feel intentional and thorough.

Against my better judgement I decided to try the Fort Greene location after an amazing experience at the Brooklyn Heights location. The service was incomparable - Court Street gets a 5/5 whereas I'd give S Oxford a 2. To summarize this, I felt rushed and the results showed it. My nails chipped the very next day, photo included. I expressed my discontent in the salon and they did nothing to try to remedy it, so I won't be back.

But by 10/5 my finger was swollen as if it was going to burst and 10/6 the cuticle was filled with puss. They did clip my cuticles alottttt. Like first one lady prepped my nails and clipped the cuticles but then the lady who actually applied the gel did it again before she started. So I'm pretty sure it's from that. I wanted to love this place but I'll never be back. I guess that's what I get for trying an out a spot and not sticking with my old faithful and to think I paid $85 for this service plus a tip. Update: I went back today 10/6 and was refunded. They were apologetic but I still won't be back.

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! I had the worst experience there today. The woman who waxed my eyebrows did a terrible job! They were completely uneven (one eyebrow was higher than the other) and they were completely different shapes! One eyebrow is arched, the other is not and they made them way too thin. I was appalled because I've honestly never seen anyone do such a bad job in my life. Any random person off of the street could have done a better job. The most ridiculous part? The "technician" asked, "do you like them?" It wasn't just a figment of my imagination-all my family and friends wanted to know what happened to my eyebrows so they definitely ruined them. read more

I did not end up in the chair until 9:35pm for my nails (I had a 6:00pm appointment for my nails booked in advance). Why wait? I had an important meeting the next day and needed my nails done and it was too late to go anywhere else. My nail process was completed at 11:52pm. I was fully charged for all services (even though I basically completed a full part time evening shift by waiting). I would suggest : 1. Longer time slot appointments for the nail tech to complete her work. (2 hrs maybe). 2. If the nail tech is running behind a client, give a courtesy call to the following client so they know how to manage their time or reschedule. 3. Remember that it is a business and friends and family need to respect that you have clients in the place of business. (don't let them use it as a hang out spot if they are not there for services) 4. Better air circulation to remove the heavy smell of the nail products being used in the salon since it is a small space.
