Only giving this place 2 stars because the chocolate chip cookie & six-5 sandwich was good, other than that, everything else was downhill. We called ahead about Restaurant week for the $15 lunch special and they said we could do it if we came before 2 pm. When we showed up at 1 pm, they acted like they didn't know what we were talking about & ignored us for 15 minutes before they agreed to let us have the deal along with another customer at the bar. We ordered and they gave food to customers that came after us. We ordered a chocolate chip cookie that came 15 minutes later even though it was already made & my soup could not even come, yet other customers after us got their soups. At 1:55 pm, 40 minutes after we placed our food order and only a cookie arrived, we told them to pack our order for take-out since the restaurant closed at 2 pm before it opened again at 4 pm. For the takeout order, they didn't even have proper lids and containers for the food, so they wrapped it all in aluminum. During our time there, there was no worker asking us for refills on our water and the bartender also was sick and coughing the whole time, so that is a sanitary issue on its own. When we got home and checked our takeout order, there were no utensils first off. We had a bagel with butter and there was no butter, which we paid extra for. There was no crostini with the soup, which it is supposed to come with. The yogurt box order just had 2 orange slices & 3 strawberry pieces, when there should have been more for its price. We won't be coming back here and hopefully management can step in to fix these issues. There was also another set of customers seated that said they were waiting for an hour for their food. They also messed up on someone else's burger that was sitting at the bar with us. The staff seems unexperienced & unorganized. read more

This place has great sandwiches, breakfast options, and coffee drinks. Can't say I've had any food that I've been disappointed with. That said, almost every time I've ordered from here, there's been some kinda issue. Yes, they do take a long time to get food out of the kitchen. Sometimes things are cold as a result. The bigger issue is missing/incorrect items. Got the wrong kinda bagel today, often get the wrong baked goods or none at all. Still giving them four stars because the potential is there and it'd be a great neighborhood staple if things got sorted out. read more

I picked up sandwiches to go after ordering online. I have not liked the dinner orders I have gotten in the past so I thought I'd give lunch a try. The online ordering system is very good. I was told my order would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes. I waited 40 minutes for my food. The cafe was not busy at the time; it was just before 4 p.m. when I ordered. I have eaten here before and the service was always very slow for dine in. I didn't expect the same for a small take out order. This is insulting to customers. It's fine if you have a lot of time to spend but when you do not, standing waiting for 15 minutes, without an apology even, beyond the 25 minute estimate is too much. They need a kitchen more energy. My girlfriend and I were able to walk here from her townhouse for breakfast. This was a place she has been wanting to go to for some time now. I got black drip coffee and she got a latte. Drip coffee was a bit bitter for my liking, but the latte was rather delicious. As for entrees, I got a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, and my partner got the lox. The breakfast sandwich was just okay- with the highlights being the sausage patty (locally made) and the everything bagel (house-made). I felt like the sandwich overall was not well-seasoned, kind of tasted bland even after adding ketchup. The lox was pretty good, capers and onions were tasty and tomatoes fresh. The service was excellent. I would definitely give this place another chance to "wow" me! read more

Stopped in with my wife this morning for a late Sunday breakfast. The atmosphere is great with tin ceilings and decorative tiled floors. We ordered the chocolate croissant, two chai lattes and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was excellent and the staff were super friendly. I decided to cancel my order after I witnessed employees eating and improperly wearing face covering while preparing food. At that time I requested a refund which a receipt had been printed stating cash tinder and was told that it would be refunded to my card. Get there early. We arrived at 1:25p knowing that they closed at 2p. A party of 8 was just ahead of us and swamped the kitchen. They ran out of a lot of items and we received our food at 2:15p. We had 3 people in front of us but a large rush behind and our order must have gotten lost. With prepay service, I gave a 20 percent tip for service that missed the mark. I likely will walk to Cafe Dear Leon instead for my breakfast and coffee. I really like the idea of this place. However, every single time I go, my order gets messed up and it takes a very long time for food service. I called this morning to place an order for pick up. I said twice that I did not want specific things on my sandwich. I went there to pick it up---when I opened my sandwich, it was not what I ordered and the employee apologized and said she didn't write down what I said not to include in the sandwich. I also asked for a decaf latte and it's clear that it's a regular latte. This stuff has just happened too many times and unfortunately, I will not be going back. The issue is really the employees, particularly those that work in the morning. read more

I took my mom here for her birthday and I must say this place was just okay both the food and service. First, my waitress Sabrina was really nice and attentive. She was working alone but she still made sure she checked on us. The person behind the bar who I assume is the owner, was not very nice or accommodating. There was an error with a drink in our party and she made us feel bad for her error. In terms of the food we ordered: Apps: fritto misto: the Calamari was chewy and the breading was falling off. Cheese plate: very good! Entrees: I ordered the linguini and clams- I saw someone else's dish and it had too much sauce, so I ordered it with light sauce. But it was just okay, it was really red pepper heavy so it kind of sweet and it overpowered the dish, not much flavor otherwise. Summer pasta- not much flavor other than the pesto (and We love pasta and pesto and this wasn't the best) Risotto- that was very good and flavorful, the best thing we had here Blue burger- pretty good. Fries not the best. Tasted freezer burnt. Again, Sabrina was great!! We really appreciated her service and she bought out my moms cake in one piece so I was grateful for that! So happy to have this restaurant/cafe in the neighborhood! We have been needing to fill this void in the area. Great coffee and croissants and bagels. The bread is legit! Delicious sesame loaf and baguettes. We had dinner there also. The sausage gnocchi dish was a little salty but overall our appetizers and mains were tasty and home made. Went there this morning and got coffee and a bagel. Great addition to the area. Everyone was very friendly. They have oat milk which is awesome. My bagel was a spicy fennel bagel with cream cheese. I'm from New Jersey so I'm obviously a bagel snob who wasn't expecting much beyond a dense dry bagel but this bagel was awesome. It was soft and the flavor was great. This was our first time here and unfortunately we waited 27 minutes for two plain bagels and three BEC. We had gotten there and one person was in front of us. It was extremely disappointing as we saw this breakfast spot had lots of good reviews. The chef in the back had no gloves or hair net and the rest of the staff was very unwelcoming. We were not reassured at anytime that our food would be late and we watched people who came after us get served before. Okay so what can I say but by far the best customer service I probably every experienced. I had seen on yelp that they are open till 12am. I arrived around 9:30 pm starving,only to find out that they stopped serving at 9. I was so bummed. I asked if I could get some bread and butter which was no problem. The next thing i knew the gal from the kitchen came out and told she will not let me go hungry. I was so amazed how she wanted to make sure I got fed. I ordered the bresoala sandwich which was what I had seen on yelp. It was sooo yummy. I give the whole staff ten stars. I hung out for a while and met some great locals. We had great conversation. I seriously can't ever remember a staff so rude. I ordered an iced coffee and a cold brew (both take 2 seconds as they are pre made). It was busy, and there was only 1 person working. Anyways, another staff member came at about 10 minutes after 10, I didn't get out of there until 10:15 and I ordered before 10. She started serving people out of order, and people who hadn't waited at all were getting their coffee before I Was. I came up to the counter and politely asked, "do you have an iced coffee and a cold brew?" She didn't answer me, just made a disgusted look on her face. I came around the side so she couldn't ignore me and asked again. She said, "I'm just pouring them in the order they came in. I reminded her that the two people who had just been served ordered after me, and that I had been waiting for 15 minutes. The cups they're serving the coffee in are really fragile, cheap plastic cups, and when putting the top on the cup, the cup collapsed. I asked for a replacement cup, and she didn't even top off the cup that I had. She has curly blonde hair, and is wildly rude. I will never be going back, and I encourage other people in the area to choose another one of the many local coffee options. I seriously can't remember ever having such a rude staff. Where do I begin?! This new bakery/restaurant is such a wonderful addition to Upper Fells Point. It doubles up as an intimate restaurant in the evenings and a bustling bakery in the mornings. Before heading over for dinner we always give them a call and they are nice enough to let us know if there is a wait for seating or not (they don't take reservations). You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner on a Friday night that consisted of the bruschetta trio, mushroom risotto (vegetarian), seafood risotto, side of roasted cauliflower, and tiramisu for dessert. The bruschetta trio was three slices of their amazing baked in house bread each with its own topping. There was bresaola and arugula (they brought the bresaola out on the side since I'm vegetarian), goat cheese and tapenade, and a calamari in spicy marinara. The mushroom risotto was amazing as was the seafood risotto. The tiramisu was huge and probably the best I've ever had. On top of that we finished our night with a bill under $100 (pretty impressive considering it also included four glasses of wine, a cocktail, and espresso). Now there's breakfast the fresh bagels are to die for, especially the spicy fennel one (it IS spicy just a warning). My husbands favorite thing is a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on the spicy fennel bagel. Their homemade veggie cream cheese is so fresh and delicious. And you can't leave without getting a breakfast "dessert" whether it's a piece of bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce OMG or an almond croissant. This place is a new staple for us. It appears that the menu will frequently change which I love. We can't wait to keep trying their new creations! read more

Very cute spot in the Butcher's Hill neighborhood. A few bar stools and maybe 10 tables, going early may be easier to get a table on a Sunday. The space lives up to the name wonderfully, it is incredibly charming with the wood tables and white subway tile, and beautiful tiling throughout the dining space. The wall has touches of charming art, from what I imagine are from local artists. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. If you dont live in the area, there is plenty of street parking on the surrounding streets. I got an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese, croissant and almond croissant and they were all AMAZING! I see they have lunch and dinner so I definitely want to stop by to try dinner :) I hope this place does well, it is a great addition and so nice to have a local cafe with delicious baked goods nearby!! read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood! We came in for brunch this morning and had a great experience. Delicious, fresh food-- the homemade bread, bagels, and croissants are to die for! I have been to Italy and would say the bread is definitely fine Italian baking The cookies looked delicious and I am regretting not trying one. Coffee was excellent as well. The restaurant is beautifully done with a modern decor and warm vibe. Very friendly staff. We were all very happy with our food and experience and will definitely be returning to try the lunch, happy hour, and dinner menus! read more

I came here to grab breakfast post workout with a friend and I could not be more pleased with my experience! Charmed Kitchen sure is a charming place to eat. Nestled in a little corner of Baltimore, the small space creates a cozy environment without feeling cramped. We were greeted right when we walked in the the door by a waitress who instructed we could sit anywhere. The service was great! We were able to get much needed coffee soon after we sat down and were checked up on periodically by our waitress throughout our meal. Speaking of the meal... DELICIOUS! I had an omelette, I got to choose the ingredients I put in it and it was delightful, very filling (I didn't even need to eat lunch later). There were people constantly in and out for take out, I could tell this is a typical spot for people based on their interactions for the staff. This establishment also has a no laptop policy, perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and focus on a great meal/company. Looking forward to being back soon! read more

Went for dinner a few weeks ago. They only had small plates so far. Food was good although I was a little bummed that there weren't any entrees. We got pretty much everything and everything was reasonably priced. They were still working on getting the kinks worked out it seemed. Definitely going back when the full menu comes out. This is the best addition to Butchers Hill. They have the most delicious freshly baked bread and pastries in the morning, and their bagels are sooooo good. The veggie cream cheese with the spicy fennel bagel is . They also have reasonably priced drinks and small plates for happy hour and dinner. Try the cream of crab, it's full of crab and sooooo good. Do NOT come if you are in a rush, they tend to have one person doing all phone orders, counter orders, making coffee and running food. ONE person. I feel completely ripped off by this place! Located two blocks from my house, I was ready to love charmed city kitchen the day they started construction. I had their lunch and was disappointed, but was determined to hold out for their dinner. Surely a place with such promise (and convenience for me!) would be an amazing evening option. Not my experience. I went the Friday after valentines, when, for some reason their Menu was limited to their valentines prixe fixe menu. My group opted for this overpriced and limited price fixe menu - it was the only option - with hope it would be a special meal at least. Not the case. Each of our meals were entirely underwhelming (between us, we tried the beef filet, half chicken, mushroom risotto); all too salty and over seasoned; the filet small, thin and overcooked; the menu descriptions misleading. Their specialty cocktail was Meh. When it came to desert, they were actually out of some advertised options (they had run out the "night before"). Several of us ordered bread pudding which tasted stale (leftover form the "night before" no doubt). I totally understand an upcharge for a special valentines meal (... on Valentine's Day - not the subsequent friday night) - and I'm all about splurging I'm a special meal. Charmed city kitchen was none of those things. I'm new to Baltimore - having recently moved from Seattle - this was one of the most expensive meals I've had in Baltimore, and the most disappointing so far. That said - the service was lovely, as was the ambiance; I understand that they are new and will consider giving them another chance. read more

This is the new Upper Fells Point hang out spot! The owners are locals and clearly invested in the community. They told me that literally everything they serve is either local or homemade, including their beer wine and liquor. I had great breakfast and dinner experiences here. Small-ish menu, but absolutely delicious and creative. Look forward to more! read more

We moved into upper fells at the same time as the pandemic began, and one regret is not being able to eat at Charmed Kitchen while things were a bit more normal. We've been getting takeout from them and ate at an outdoor table today for the first time, and each time we'd received awesome food and customer service. As a veggie I'm a big fan of their six-five sandwich and french fries, and their to-go cocktails are super refreshing and delicious. They're good folks and make delicious food and drink, and have been extremely respectful and on top of social distancing/mask-wearing practices. I hope they are getting enough business during these strange times, but if not, what are you waiting for! The cupcakes are amazing! read more
