Food are decent for the price. Minced chicken salad- Did not taste the kaffir lime leaves. Lemongrass, fish sauce and rice powder are weak. Definitely fresh made though. Minced chicken entree- Good portion, sunny side up egg with crusted bottom cooked perfectly. Missing the fish sauce taste. Rice is too mushy but it's freshly cooked. Tom Yum soup- Average taste. This is my go to delivery Thai food. I ordered the shrimp pad see ew and while it is always a hit today it was not as delicious. It was ok but it had too much soy sauce but the vegetables dumplings were delicious prefectly prepared. I also order the crab Rangoon where perfectly made. So overall it was great; next time I wil order the drunken noodles. I also ordered later on in the day and I usually order earlier so that could be the reason. The people on the phone are very nice and the delivery guy is always prompt and my food comes hot. This is a takeout place only so there is no ambiance. Even though the pad see ew was not as delicious as it usually is; I will still order from here because the other items were very well prepared the crab Rangoon had a good amount of stuffing and it was fried well. Charm Thai is our GO TO thai place. It is always delivered so quickly- this time it was at our door within 25 minutes of ordering. Getting food delivered that is too hot to eat, always a good thing. Was hanging around west Harlem and needed a quick lunch fix-up. When I saw the storefront I wasn't convinced I would have the best experience here, but boy was I proven wrong. First off one of the best pad thai and pad sew ew I've had there in NYC. The pad Thai was decent portion, piping hot, seasoned and flavored well,and came with a lot of shrimp. Very authentic. I ordered drunken noodles, served with chicken, peppers, flat noodles, string beans, onion, and basil. It was pleasantly spicy without being so hot that the taste was lost. The chicken was well done, almost smoky, and well seasoned. I also ordered spring rolls, which were hot and crispy, as well as vegetable dumplings, which you could tell were made from scratch, with corn and greens. Delivery was fast and courteous. I was expecting so much more in terms of food quality. Although the food was delivered quickly, our meal was quite subpar. It was suggested that the food was old. For example, the fried calamari definitely had been previously fried on another day and reheated prior to delivery. Even the pad thai, which should have been a cake walk for a thai restaurant, was very underwhelming. Not sure if the current pandemic has put additional strain on the business, which resulted in a lackluster meal. My roommate got the drunken noodles lunch special and loved it. I love that Charms red curry is so flavorful and they put slot of chicken in so you totally get your money's worth. For $8.50 I had lunch yesterday and have leftovers to eat today so I don't have to go out during our nyc snowstorm. Service is also incredibly kind, I went in person for the first time yesterday and realized now that this is a take out strictly joint, there is NO seating. Been passing by this place for what seemed like forever wondering 'would they ever open?' Went for a walk today and saw that beautiful 'Open' sign (conveniently sponsored by Seamless). Lets be clear; the name of the place is Charm Thai Express, but there's no other Charm Thai location in NYC to my knowledge. That said, the size of this place emphasizes 'Express' - there is only two chairs and a small ledge by the window if you want to 'dine in'. So the expectation is carry out or delivery (hence their 'Seamless' open sign). But if you're looking for them online it goes by the name Charm Thai (no express). The menu features most of the Thai staples folks come to know/love. One nice aspect is the prices are flat no matter the style of preparation - that means chicken pad Thai is the same price as pineapple rice with chicken. Five stars for the best Thai in Harlem/UWS. I have never ordered a dish that wasn't cooked perfectly. I'm obsessed with their massaman curry w/mock duck, pineapple or basil fried rice and pad Thai. Finding a new Asian Fusion spot to order delivery from is like searching for a new barber you can trust with cutting your hair for the first time. Sure, if you receive solid recommendations you feel a bit better about the odds of having a positive experience, but deep down you know there's a chance for significant and memorable disappointment. Well, Covid 19 has brought me to the precipice once again, my well known favorite Chinese food spot was closed, it had been so long since I tried another similar place, I had to go experimenting. Now, I know that Charm Thai, is, well, a Thai food restaurant. But it had the dumplings and egg rolls, noodles and sweet and savory flavors I was looking for on the menu. I found this place through seamless, and after a quick validation on Yelp, I decided to go for it. My wife went with an obviously Thai dish, Chicken Pad Thai. I ordered Sweet and Sour Duck (again I had a taste for Chinese, so this order called out to that). I also ordered the Won Ton Soup, which was fantastic. In addition to a $10 dumpling sampler that came with spring rolls, shrimp rolls, Shumai and Chicken Samosas. Wow was this tasty, and came with like 4 sauces. If you have ever eaten with me, you know I love sauces. Delivery Details: Food arrived in like 40 mins, which was right on time. It arrived hot, and everything was where it should be. Also, everything tasted amazing. I have to admit a delivery duck order is ambitious at best, but believe me when I say they delivered (pardon the pun), I would definitely order again. My wife's Pad Thai was good too - taken as a whole, the whole experience was very positive. I am happy to say I have a new Thai place to order from.
