Came back after a while and I was pretty disappointed to see that Thai Super dropped their lunch special for the weekends and raised their prices slightly. In addition, they also removed one of their few tables indoors and also seem to have changed their chef for the worse (their food is slightly too salty now). I love it here and I love their $15 lunch special. I stopped by around 2pm and the place got packed. My server is always so kind. I also think he's the busboy and cashier which is no easy task. Do not order from this place! They do not pay attention to who they are handing the orders to. I ordered through DoorDash and they gave my order to the wrong person and then tried to blame it on me and DoorDash. I don't like businesses that are dishonest. They also refused to call DoorDash and have my order reimbursed so now I am out of my money and my order due to their mistake. I will never order from here again and I suggest no one else order from here either. read more

I get the Pineapple Fried Rice with beef. I absolutely LOVE this dish it's sweet with a curry taste, it sounds unorthodox at first but wait until you try it. People working on customer service should keep in mind that tips are earned by good service, food quality and the ability to provide a nice experience to customers. You can not pretend to get tips only smiling at the moment customers is signing a bill only cause you smiled at them after you provided poor customer service, after you showed yourself angry or after you answered in a very unpleasant manner. This was my experience today when trying to eat here and the woman who was at the teller said they were about to close 3:50pm and they were only serving to go food and I asked why since I've eaten so many times there before. But of course she smiled at me when asking to sign the bill. Also, please update your hours on the internet, so people don't go to that place when you are on break. read more

The food was delicious and was delivered pretty quick! I ordered the drunken noodle and though I ordered only mild spicy I'd say it was probably made much spicier. I don't have a very high spicy tolerance so it's something it keep in mind if you order mild spicy. That being said it was very delicious and filling enough and I ate the entire dish. It could have been a larger amount of food but compared to other NYC Thai food it was a pretty good value for the amount. There was a fair amount of chicken and they did give an option to add more chicken for a fee. I thought the dish toppings went very well together. Excellent noodles. The Thai super dumpling was also quite good and unique. It was a very good size and perfect for sharing with a good amount of the filling. The pineapple fried rice was great and exactly what we expected. The tofu wasn't dry at all. There could have been more pineapple in the dish. Overall it was delicious, well priced, and satisfied our Thai food cravings and we will definitely be ordering again from here! read more

Their Pineapple Fried Rice is one of my favorite take-out meals EVER. The mix of flavors (cashews, pineapple, lime, chicken, onion) is SO GOOD. I get it every time. The Rama (peanut curry and steamed vegetables) is very good as well. I liked their Thai Super dumplings but wasn't amazed by them. Also, free delivery that is insanely fast. Ordered take out from here, and it arrived packaged nicely and still hot! I loved the pad thai with chicken here - soft noodles, and a good balance of protein, vegetables, and garnish. The drunken noodles also had a nice spicy kick to it and a variety of veggies mixed in as well. read more

My friend and I come here when we get together. Small portion but it's enough that you won't be hungry. I usually get a Thai ice tea and a ginger or basil sauce tofu item. Fantastic Thai Food uptown that is a regular go-to for delivery. Incredible Beef Basil Fried rice, one of my favorite dishes in the city. The chicken wings are crunchy and crispy while being moist. Chive cakes are another favorite starter with terrific crunchy texture that pairs well with their dipping sauce. Drunken Noodles, Pork Larb, Pad Thai and all the curries are excellent. The food was delicious but the service was the worst ever. We ordered delivery. While my boyfriend gave the delivery person a tip that was not big enough for the amount of food we ordered, the delivery person decided to shred the dollar bills in front of the door after we closed it. The next morningI stepped out and saw the dollars bills shredded and was like: what happened? My boyfriend recognized the bills as his. This is a really psycho move on the part of a delivery person. What would be next? If you don't like your tip, thats one thing. But acting psychotic about it is not right. I hope you remove this person from your team. read more

These 2 stars are for the overall experience of ordering a lunch special delivery from these guys. Curry puffs gets a 0/5 stars. First of all, I love curry puffs, they're my favorite that appetizer. These were disgusting, mushy and dropping in oil. The inside was tasteless with a crunchy texture. Spicy Drunken Noodle with chicken gets a 3/5 stars. It was pretty spicy, not too much but enough to feel the heat. There's a good amount of chicken to go with the noodle with scattered vegetables. The fish wasn't greasy and the ingredients tasted fresh. Coconut soup: Also a 3/5 tangy coconut soup with a spare mushrooms. Soda: 2/5 warm to the touch. Really? There are a few Thai options in this neighborhood. You may be better off stopping by there unless your planning on having the Drunken Noodle. The delivery came when expected, but the food wasn't hot, only the soda was. As for me, the greasy curry puff was a deal breaker. I won't be ordering from here again. Happy Yelping! read more

Confession time: I have Thai Soup's number on speed dial but I have never been to the physical restaurant. I love Thai food and there aren't many option this far uptown. Yes there is better out there but their food is good, inexpensive and comes to my rescue when I'm feeling lazy and don't know what to eat. My usual choices: Pad Thai, drunken noodles(spicy!!), basil fried rice (spicy!!) their curry dishes are great as well. Oh and don't sleep on my the Thai iced tea! read more

Solid Thai spot. I got food delivered from here. Lunch special is just $11 for food, free drink and appetizer (including tip!) Food was very spicy as requested. They literally sprinkled red Chilli flakes on top. First time I've seen that. I'd order from here again for sure. read more

I'm surprised people queued and surprised they actually lock people out. They have a policy of only seating whole parties. My friends were literally stuck amongst the world cup crowds in Times Square such that they struggled to get through and had to detour when they did. They have a 10 minute grace period, but my friends wouldn't make it in time, so I asked if they'll let us sit first as long as we start ordering immediately. They said ok as long as we returned the table by 6:30pm. I thought the 1.5 hour seating time was based on when we actually get seated which considers the grace period. Anyways the timing ended up being sufficient. I think this spot is good for pre-theatre dining due to the large storefront and quick service, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here for the sake of coming. Their menu is extensive and slightly confusing given the way they organize by regions in Thailand. I'm uncultured so I won't know what's the difference between each region. It's easier for me to comprehend if the menu was categorized by the ingredients used or size of the dish. Most dishes do not have a photo/drawing included so it was hard to skim through all the options. Their online ordering was way more helpful since it had photos. It was so hard to look for the corresponding line item in the printed version. We ordered: green curry, kao soy kua neur, khao mok neua, curry puff, kaeng hung lay, gai gor lae, and mango sticky rice. Most of the stuff tasted alright without much standout. We requested mild/little spicy for everything and it was true to request. The spiciest dish was probably the green curry, but I think it's tolerable if you eat it with rice. Crowd favorite was the kao soy kua neur which is braised beef with egg noodles. I like how tender the beef is and how chewy the noodles were. My friends didn't like the khao mok neua biryani because of its dryness, but I think it's meant to be like that. I appreciate the spices in it, not too strong but still sufficient. I don't like how they don't have a printed menu for desserts and relied on the servers to recite out what's available. We couldn't hear everything properly and resorted to referencing the online ordering menu for the dessert options. Glad they're the same. Mango sticky rice was the highlight of the night for me. The mango size could be slightly bigger, because right now it's much smaller than the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice a lot. It was hot, fragrant, and not too soft. It definitely felt comforting. The coconut milk on the side had rice puffs (?) in it which gave additional texture.

I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry.
