We have been going to Charlotte's Web for years and we think they have the best clams casino in morris county. Tonight Chef Carlos prepared pan seared scallops over spinach with garlic i& olive oil. It was outstanding and my husband could not stop raving about it. I had the shrimp franchise and it was excellent as usual. The staff and owners at Charlotte's Web have always made us feel like family. We highly recommend it if you're looking for a delicious meal at a reasonable price. M. D. My family had dinner here on Sunday to celebrate my Aunt's birthday. We had a reservation for 25 people. When I called the restaurant to inquire about making the reservation I spoke with Sal the owner who was an absolute sweetheart and a pleasure to deal with. Since we had such large group Sal had his daughter Stephanie email me the menu for us to pick 4 entree's as dinner options for the group. All the dinners were served with bread, salad, pasta w/marinara sauce, mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was delicious ! All the food was hot, fresh and well seasoned. Always wanted to go here finally went . Seated immediately. The ambience is very quaint ( dark) . The waitress was very nice and came over immediately to take drink order . Was honest about Coke being served out of a soda gun which can be tasteless . Busboy came by with big bread basket I got nervous thought he was leaving it for the table .. Served one piece to each of us .. Odd but ok . Guess they don't want you to fill up on bread . Menu was classic American / Italian fare . With nightly pub specials . I had the chicken scarpiello with a side of pasta . The one critique I can give is "I don't care who says it but the pasta water DOES NOT have to be like the Ocean" very salty pasta .. But chicken was excellent .. Will be back ( oh and we asked for more bread and they gave us some . Second time here .. Food was excellent. Tucked away in Dover off Rt. 46, this gem is wonderful. Been here many times. Service is fast and attentive. Never had a bad meal here. Everything on the menu and specials are prepared beautifully. A must-stop if you're in the area and hungry. read more

Thanksgiving dinner at Charlottes Web was excellent along with a nice carafe of Pinot Grigio. Serving sizes left us all full but we did manage to have a tasty slice of apple for desert. Service was timely and we were seated immediately upon arrival. read more

Charlotte's Web is a very cozy restaurant and an old favorite. The food is very good. Most of their entree offerings have generous portions. And though the majority of the menu is Italian, there are also a few "pub-type" dishes that are done very well (their French Onion soup has to be some of the best I've ever sampled). The servers are polite and courteous. The exterior/interior have a bit of a "rustic feel" to them, but it is very clean and well maintained. When you walk in, the bar-area has a pub-like atmosphere, with bar stools, tables, and a television to watch sporting events. On the other side of the restaurant, a well laid out dining area with dark wood tables is both quaint and intimate for diners to enjoy their meal. The owner, Sal, is very hands on and pleasant (the restaurant is named after his wife Charlotte). He walks around to speak to patrons and inquire as to how their meal is. If you're looking for a local restaurant with good service and food, I would highly recommend checking them out. read more

We love this place! Haven't been able to get there for quite some time, but are planning on going this weekend for our anniversary. Liver And onions makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Met the owner and his wife last year on a bus trip to the Culinary Institute. So nice. Dinner on Sunday was delicious. Had the liver and onions in the balsamic reduction liked I planned. Pardon my poor grammar, but this is a quick update to my review of Charlotte's Web and something I forgot to mention at the time I wrote my original review. "You just gotta love Charlotte's Web, not just because of the food itself, which is OUTSTANDING, but because they take such pride and care in its preparation, presentation and value. Here's what I forgot to add last time, so I hope you'll forgive the use of the word "gotta" because I used it to speak in the slang we all too often use. In any case, one of the things I really love and admire about Charlotte's Web is what is called the "product photography" that they use to illustrate the presentation of their various dishes. I don't know who the photographer is, but they do an excellent job of lighting and showing the various dishes to their utmost in appeal and mouth watering, hunger inducing desire. As someone who is a somewhat accomplished amateur digital photographer, I never cease to be amazed at the quality of the photos I see here at Yelp and at the Charlotte's Web website. Sal, Charlotte, Stephanie and Company, you should be proud of not just your establishment and the food served there, but the quality of the photography that gets my digestive juices flowing each and every time I visit your site or yelp. If I do so late at night, after you are closed, it really is "torture!" :-) I need to get back down the street from where I live for another great meal, so it has to be this week. terrible place from the moment we were seated were made to feel like an inconvenience we were seated and dinning then approached and asked to move so they can make room to make more table space. we moved but stated that was rude to have us move while dinning . my wife went to the ladies room and was scolded by the bartender saying that she was nasty to her 80 year old mother. nice to know when you reach 80 years you can work in the hospitality business and be rude and disrespectful to your customers. our waitress was nice , the food we took to go and food was good. no excuse for the 80 year old rude hostess or the obnoxious bartender just a factual account on my experience, if you want to gamble on how you will be treated good luck , again the food was good but was not worth the bad treatment jim r read more

Wonderful!! We went to Charlottes Web with my friends for dinner. The food was excellent as the pork chops I ordered were thick and fully cooked, fairly lean.Shrimp cocktail was good.We had a pleasant meal and wonderful drinks. I will go back. read more

Terrible service. When I dine here with my friends I get decent service but when I am eating here with my family we get rude, unwelcoming service. I am not one to assume rude service is due to racism but this has happened on several occasions. The pork chops are tough and lack flavor but the pasta is OK. Unless you enjoy being treated badly while overpaying for basic food, stay away! Never in my life did my family or I receive such rude reservice from manignent! When the owner or manager came to collect the bill I question why we had a 20 dollar up charge, she said it was for the salads. I explained that no one at the table asked for salads but were told it came with our meals and asked what kind of dressing we wanted she proceeded to defend the up charge by saying only house salads dont get an up charge and we asked for a different dressing so that's why the extra 20. I didn't feel like arguing so I gave her my card and called it a day, knowing we just would never come back again. When she return with my card she very rudely continued to defend their add on chargers I told her at that point I dont even care about the 20 bucks but her nasty attitude. She then blamed her attitude on being sick with a cold and fever for the last 3 days....ummm then why are you around all this food? Just an overall disgusting experience. read more

My husband and I have always loved Charlotte's Web. Back when I was just a kid (21 or so) a dear friend said we should try it. We've been back a million times and love the quiet charm, great food, and wonderful service. Now that Route 15 construction has made it a little harder to find, I hope that people won't forget about Charlotte & Sal and this wonderful restaurant. My husband and i dined here a couple of weeks ago. It is such a charming homestyle restaurant. It's very country-style. Our waitress was polite, quick and attentive. She consistently met our needs. They interestingly have an escargot appetizer that was surprisingly tasty. My filet mignon was quite good as well. My husband's veal was alright--it was a bit tough and the sauce was mediocre. Drink and food prices were very reasonable. I definitley recommend it for a yummy steak for less. read more

I love the Italian food here! Charlotte and Sal the owners, are very sweet! Charlotte will cook sometimes, so you get to have her homemade food! The front dining area by the bar can be a bit dark at night. The back dining room is bright. No matter where you choose to sit, the food and service is great. read more

Charlotte's Web is an 80's Italian-American throwback Ma & Pa ristaurante in downtown Dover a couple blocks from The Quiet Man. The whole place is warm and cozy; the food is comfortable and yummy, taking no risks whatsoever, but that isn't why you come. You show for the family atmosphere and the friendly staff. It's like watching a Rocky Marathon on TV. Only the first one was Oscar worthy, and you know how they all go, but you keep watching...because it makes you feel good - like Charlotte's Web. I chatted a bit with Charlotte after the meal, and she was happy share some stories. I'm grateful. The filet mignon was soft and tender with pink peppercorns, the portobello mushroom with stuffed crab meat was mouth watering. Service was a bit slow, but our server was hustling and very friendly. We brought out twin girls and we'll be back because we could be ourselves. Decor needs an update, but I don't care! read more

Met friends at Charlotte's Web this evening. It was our second time and first for them. To be honest after we visited there years ago we never returned due to our dining experience. We had hope it would have been a welcomed change but was not. We found the food and service to be lacking. My husband ordered shrimp Fra Diavolo, I ordered veal Francese, our friends ordered veal parm and another Veal Francese. It took a while for our dinners took come. Mine was served with potato and veggies. It looked ok, very sauced. When I tasted the sauce it was terribly salty and not a taste of lemon at all. My friend tasted her's and it was the same. We sent them back with a not too happy waitress. We both ordered veal parm which came rather quickly. It was very chewy And not a good cut of veal. Very disappointing, my husband's shrimp was just ok. We would definitely not return and do not recommend this establishment. read more

A friend of mine had her bridal shower here and it was pretty cute. I don't think that the space was apporpriate for the size of the group. Parking was difficult and once inside we were seated at a tbale that was crammed into the corner with only one way out.... which meant climbing past people everytime you wanted to get up. This was particularly annoying since it was a buffet! The food, however, was very good. The offered two types of pasta, penne in vodka sauce and cavatelli and broccoli, as well as a chicken and salad. This would be a cute place for a girls lunch out. read more

Enjoyed a nice, mid-October meal with friends here. Warmly greeted at the door by the owner and immediately shown to our table. Our server enthusiastically welcomed us and took our drink order. No draft beers but many bottled beers fairly priced. Salads were plain and quite ordinary. Entrees were enjoyed but not relished. I had the pasta Charlottes Web which promised prosciutto, but I couldn't find any, and peas, which were very tiny and over cooked. No taste of fresh herbs, but there was plenty of salt in my dish. Just sauce and pasta. My wife's fish was smothered in sauce. Roasted potatoes were tasteless and spinach side was just a dull plop of soggy green on a plate. In short, the food was at best OK. It was tired cooking that tasted old and uninspired, like the same cook had been making the same food for decades and that was good enough. It was a nice, friendly place, but we won't be going back. read more

A unique hidden gem! I never had anything bad here! All seafood is delicious. The sole oreganata dinner and garlic shrimp appetizer are super! All staff is extremely friendly and make you feel like you're at home. Kara was our waitress and she was extremely nice. They also have a separate room for parties if you're looking for that!
