This is a MUST TRY if you're in the area. Honestly when we arrived and saw a house, we were so impressed by the use of space. They made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing. Nothing overcooked and all well seasoned. Alicia took such good care of us. My family had: salmon, Bolognese, lasagne, chicken Mediterranean, calamari, bruschetta, and to end the oreo cheesecake and tiramisus(desert was just okay). We all left thinking when can we come back.

Absolutely delightful experience! The food is excellent. Starting with fresh mozzarella, salami, olives, warm bread and butter, I knew I was in for a treat. The pizza is plain cheese, but the flavor is outstanding! The combination is simply magical. My chicken entree was full of garlicky and buttery flavors and then my dessert was a raspberry sorbet tartufo, which was delicious. The owners and staff treat you like a kind family or friend. Such a pleasurable place to go!

La Cucina was a great find! After thinking I knew most of the restaurants in Denville, I saw some friend's Yelp reviews of this place and my wife and I kicked off the holiday weekend there last night. There's a lot of history in this place which goes back a century to the days of the Morris Canal. Since this was basically a house, the dining rooms are spread out all over. We were out on what was probably the back porch. We were indoors, but there is also outdoor dining. While the location is cool, the food is the star. It was fantastic! The server places a blackboard in front of you with the day's specials. We started with the Burrata appetizer. The mozzarella was so good! My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese special, I ordered the Sausage Giambotta off the regular menu. Absolutely delicious, with large portions we'll be finishing today! Pairing that with a nice bottle of wine at this BYOB, was perfect! We finished off with cappuccino and dessert. My wife had the lemoncello cake and I had the carrot cake. Excellent! I definitely recommend that you make a reservation and visit this unique restaurant. Great food, atmosphere, and very friendly service!

I like this place! Located off the beaten path in a residential area sits a former victorian house that now is this restaurant. The seating area is broken up into different sections with party rooms upstairs. Warm crusty bread is served to start & they always have several specials that are written up on a chalkboard & is placed by your table for you to spend time reviewing & it includes the cost (thank you - I hate having to ask!). We enjoyed the burrata app - so creamy! For entree's my husband had a stuffed chicken with a tasty marsala sauce & I went keto-style - I asked for shrimp scampi over spinach - delish! We ended the night with espresso's & my husband scarfed down a delicious looking carrot cake. Mangia!!

My husband and I have passed La Cucina many, many times and finally stopped in for dinner. The food was outstanding. We started with the meatball appetizer, which was awesome. I had the veal capricciosa (similar to Milanese) - full description is under picture. It was absolutely fantastic! So good, I had it the second time we went as well. My husband also had the same entree twice. I forget what it was called but it was chicken with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes (see picture). We did order a pizza from there once, which was a little underwhelming, so we won't be getting there pizza again. Other than that, the food is utterly fantastic. It's also a BYO, so don't forget a nice bottle of wine when you go!

Home style Italian dishes in a historical building (former general store) location is a bit remote -but a lot of character at the restaurant with loyal customers and staff. Ordered the Meatball Appetizer which was alright, probably wouldn't order again. For entrees I ordered the penne vodka vs chicken parm which were both delicious. Very large portions priced $19-21. Our bill for appetizers, 2 entrees with tax was about $60.

The classic pepperoni slice hits all the right notes, with that beautiful char on the bottom that gives just the right crisp. The square pepperoni slice ups the game with creamy dollops of ricotta and smaller, thicker slices of pepperoni that curl into perfect little cups. The sauce leans slightly sweeter than the standard slice, which works beautifully with the toppings. Behind the counter, one multitasking powerhouse was handling phone orders, walk-ins, and takeout with effortless precision, all while being genuinely delightful to chat with. I was in the mood for Italian food, so we decided to give this place a shot. I called ahead to check availability, and I'm glad I did! We didn't have a reservation, but thankfully the manager let us know that they'd have a table ready for us around 7:20pm (it was roughly 7pm when I called). My husband and I were just down the street, so we decided to go ahead and make our way there. Once we got seated, we were quickly greeted by our server, Mike. He was very attentive and friendly! We later learned that it was his second day on the job, which we found shocking as he did such a great job! As for the food... I'll be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana (my favorite Italian dish) and my husband ordered the Risotto Primavera. The Eggplant Parmigiana was not crispy at all, which was super disappointing! It had a great flavor, but I prefer a crispy texture so this didn't really hit the spot for me. It came with linguini noodles with tomato sauce, which was very bland. Whatever sauce they used did not have a great taste to it. As for the Risotto Primavera...it had a RICH flavor to it. My husband said "it's good, but not good enough to order again". I, on the other hand, didn't like it as I thought it was just too rich in taste. The food wasn't the best, but I'm giving them 4 stars because the overall service was fantastic! Everyone was so attentive, helpful and friendly, from the host to our server to the manager. It's rare these days to find a team where everyone is pitching in and happily doing so!
