Came here for Easter dinner with the family (group of 9) after not being here in over 2 years, and I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and food! Went to a celebration luncheon in a group of thirty; we were seated in four tables in a large room easily accessible from the back parking area; the front of the building has several stone steps. Service was impeccable: very friendly, timely. We were started off with delicious bruschetta on thin slices of bread; followed up with garlicky butterflied shrimp and plates of delicious charcuterie. Nice garden (or Caesar) salads followed. For an entree I ordered chicken marsala, served with surprisingly food vegetables (not the usual soft, tasteless stuff, they had crunch and flavor, plus half a small potato, not dry at all), which was superb (other choices included chicken francese and salmon). Not only that, but each dish we ordered (party of 3) was extremely lacking in seasoning. So lacking to the point that we had to salt and pepper our food numerous times while eating. 9 of us went here on a Thursday evening (5/15/25). The food was very, very good. My smoked salmon with linguine was excellent. Fast delivery of all 9 of our meals, zero complaints. Service was also excellent with a friendly wait and service staff. We sat upstairs and had a view of the lake, a nice, unexpected surprise. We had some appetizers - baked clams (ok), short rib rice balls (delicious), stuffed mushrooms (delicious), beet salad (delicious), and prosciutto and melon (very good). Dinners included chicken parm with homemade rigatoni, veal saltimboca, chicken sorrentino and the filet. Everyone enjoyed their food. Inattentive Waiter tells the table specials- two friends order special- comes back five minutes later and specials are 86'd. Beverages were NEVER refilled or asked if we wanted them refilled. ~Party of six- 3 enjoyed entree and 3 thought it was mediocre. ~ Five of six found desserts to be old and stale. ~ Waited fifteen minutes for coffee (after dessert was served). ~ Food- mozzarella and tomato with basil. Orange plastic tasting tomato with OLD (not FRESH) mozzarella. ~ Coffee was EXCELLENT- although I do like to get more than a half of a cup when ordering. This place has some really good pasta and chicken dishes. So many options to choose from and everything comes out pretty tasty. I got some pink sauce tortellini and it was my favorite. Had the pleasure of experiencing this restaurant due to a birthday dinner party I attended. From the outside it seemed large but it's actually a bit on the smaller side. There were a bar area upon entering and two dining rooms, one to the left and one to the right. We sat on the right. There was about 12 people in our party. The server was attentive but a few people had to restate what they needed. Our food came and the portions were a good size. The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We did order appetizers but were least impressed with that. The bruschetta could have used some balsamic vinegar and the grilled cheese appetizer was kind of a flipped one. Last week we held our daughter's baby shower here and I can't say enough good things about the service, setup, ambiance and of course the food. Great starters including bruschetta, a really nice simple antipasto platter and delicious shrimp scampi. Our guests had a choice of a few entrees and I heard many compliments on the chicken parmigana. I had the salmon which was excellent and the pasta dishes were all great. The price was reasonable and the service excellent. Our adult family of 7 celebrated Easter luncheon here as we have many times on various occasions over the years. The food and service was excellent as usual but a very disturbing event occurred. Upon being seated, our server Xavier asked if we would like any cocktails. My son ordered a martini and my daughter and I both ordered drinks. Approximately 10-15 mins later, Xavier returned and asked if we were ready to order and if we needed refills. I declined but my daughter and son requested refills. Quite unexpectedly, a different server came with the drinks. As he poured my son's martini from the shaker, he told him there was a 10 minute window to reorder strong drinks! He also commented that this was not an " Irish pub". He didn't say anything to my daughter when he poured her 2nd Cosmo. This was appalling behavior and insulting. No one in our group was raucous or gave any indication of problem behavior. Did this person think my son looked like a drunk? A 42 yr old well dressed, father, Iraq veteran, gainfully employed with a Master's degree! How dare this man single him out and make comments in a crowded room! Although we could have abruptly left, we all maintained our composure BUT make no mistake, you successfully managed to sour our family gathering. Despite the excellent food and otherwise great service, we will never visit this establishment again. read more

We really had a great dinner and fun time at Casa Bella last night! It had been over 10 years since I've been to this restaurant and while the interior has changed, the food was still delicious. This is a large restaurant right on Rt 46 in Denville. My wife and I were seated by the window on the 2nd floor. It was a nice secluded spot on a crowded Saturday night. The food was outstanding. We started by splitting an appetizer of mushroom caps stuffed with crab meat...great sauce for dipping bread! For entrees, my wife chose the Vitello Capricciosa, breaded veal topped with tricolore salad. I had the Chicken D'Angelo special. The dish was made of chicken tenders, sausage, and broccoli rabe in a fantastic brown sauce. Wow...just awesome! Perfect with a nice glass of wine. For dessert, there are so many choices, we went with sharing the chocolate soufflé. Very inviting - everyone says hello and is very polite. Our waiter was excellent - very professional and attentive. The starter bread was great: warm with a crusty crust. I hate getting cold bread. They also give complementary bruschetta that was great and fresh: CAUTION if you have a nut allergy it does have pine nuts in it. My chicken francese passed the fork test - meaning it was soft and thin enough where my fork was able to cut through it. If you need a knife for your chicken francese - it's wrong. What a wonderful dining experience we had at Casa Bella! From the food to the service, everything was just right. Our server Azzie was amazing work smiles and a joke or two and our meal was not rushed but enjoyable ftom start to finish. Service was terrible. It looked like they overbooked. I thought it would be great to sit on the deck overlooking the lake--but it wasn 't open yet., We were on a date and we were sitting almost on top of our dinner mates. It was VERY noisy.
