What a fun and tasty find! This is grandma's place for a yummy chicken sandwich. We dined in which I highly recommend. They have a drive thru and we were the only people inside. Our meal was served piping hot and the chicken breading was crunchy. I am assuming they hand dip the chicken and thaw sides like the cheese curds. We had the Nashville Hot and the Crab Rangoon chicken sandwiches. They were soooooo good. I'm not a Big Mac and cheese guy but it was also yummy with a flavorful cheese sauce. This place gets a lot of love! Simple menu, simple location but fantastic flavor combinations! My girlfriends and husband went after the Iowa Iowa State game to give it a whirl since 3/4 had never been. 2 girlfriends got the chicken tenders and an order of Brussel sprouts. I hate sprouts with a passion but my friend says they're awesome. My husband got the Nashville hot sandwich and I got the crab rangoon chicken sandwich. My husband had good things to say about the sandwich but wouldn't stop raving about the fries. I enjoyed my sandwich but was wanting just a few more wontons for crunchiness. Wow, this place really blew me away. I know it's just chicken sandwiches, but it was SO SO good! First of all, I'm not a huge fried chicken fan so I wasn't expecting to be wowed. In the past when I've had really crispy fried chicken, the coating was too hard or too crispy so that it cut the roof of my mouth. Other times, the fried batter didn't have much seasoning on it and it was bland. But this fried chicken was crispy yet tender. It had great seasoning on it, too. I was very impressed. I got the crab rangoon chicken sandwich and my husband got the Nashville hot sandwich. We were both looking for something that was sweet and spicy. Mine wasn't spicy but it was sweet with good flavor. My husband's sandwich was spicy but not sweet. We both agreed that if they combined the sauces from our two sandwiches it would be perfect. I'm going to see if they'll do that for me next time. The presentation and execution was excellent. We also didn't have to wait very long. They came out fast and they were piping hot. The fries were excellent, too. They were thick and had a very crunchy coating. My rating is 4.5 stars. Everything was great except for one thing. The guy behind the counter charged me for a combo which includes the sandwich, fries and a fountain drink. I just wanted water from the fountain machine instead of getting a bottle of water. So I paid $1.54 extra. I didn't realize the extra charge until after I started eating so I didn't say anything. I'm going to just chalk it up to a misunderstanding and I'll say something if it happens again. The service was great with a friendly staff and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, I felt the chicken was quite smaller compared to Popeyes or Chick-Fil-A. If you're looking for a bit variety compared to the major players then I recommend giving this place a try. read more

This restaurant replaced one of the worst DQ's in existence and I am so glad! They have a local owners who are very involved in the business and are known through the area. They have a variety of chicken entrees on the menu, sides, and shakes. I typically get the original chicken sandwich. It is good sized and the sauce that comes with it is good too. I really like the cheese curds and shakes (always ask what the monthly flavor is)! The inside has plenty of seating, nice music, and board games to borrow. You can tell the building is older, but has been updated nicely. read more

Wow!! Let me start by saying that I never write a review without having been to a restaurant at least twice. Charlottes kitchen has been on our list for a few months and frankly we just never got around to it until a recent date night. Am I glad that we decided to stop in! I'm pretty sure the building used to be a Dairy Queen and in my opinion was pretty clean. My husband tried the original chicken combo with French fries, they were nice enough to add barbecue sauce to his sandwich for him. He loved everything. That's saying a lot because he's probably the only person in this country that doesn't really like fried chicken of any kind. He commented several times that his chicken was incredibly juicy and he felt well seasoned. I tried the crab Rangoon chicken sandwich combo with the cheese curds. The cheese curds were phenomenal! I order them every time I go now. Delicious, crispy on the outside with flavorful cheese that's stretchy perfection. The sandwich was a triumph! I want to shake the hand of the person who thought this beauty up! The chicken itself was a complete chicken breast, at least three inches thick, beautifully seasoned, juicy and fried to crispy perfection! The cream cheese crab Rangoon filling is put on top of the chicken and the sweet and slightly spicy sauce is a wonderful touch. It's accompanied by cool lettuce, tomato and a warm bun and tortilla strips for texture. I can't even begin to tell you how great this combination works! If you like crab Rangoon I don't see how you could not like this sandwich. The staff was really friendly and so nice to accommodate my husband's requests to add this, leave off that in the midst of dinner rush with patience and efficiency. Everyone has to try this place - the chicken sandwiches are incredibly & I have never eaten tater tot's so fast in my entire life. We ordered everything to go & the cashier was incredibly kind & accommodating. They have specials of the month & we got their spicy ranch & crab Rangoon sandwiches. It was cheaper than most fast food places, we were surprised when we paid. Second time around we went through the drive through, food was nice and hot! It is true what they say! This place has the very best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. I had the cheese curds in the past when I was at an event when they only had the truck. So we both had the fried crab Rangoon chicken sandwich but you can get the sandwiches either grilled or fried. The chicken was juicy while the breading was super crunchy at the same time.
