I had 2 eggs over medium, seasoned potatoes, bacon and whole wheat toast. My daughter had French toast. The time was 10:30 am and the place was about 45% capacity. Our order was brought to us in less than 5 minutes. Obviously, the food is precooked and in a warm plate. My food was served at the tail end of keeping. The seasoned potatoes were not warm and looked over-nuked. The eggs were the only thing fresh. The bacon was decent and warmish. The toast was not warm enough to melt the butter I put on it. The server was polite and attentive. He did however say that my meal would be plentiful, it wasn't. I ordered a side of seasoned potatoes when my meal arrived. It arrived in less than 2 minutes, again not warm and looked over microwaved (wrinkled up). My daughter said her French toast was fluffy and delicious. She was impressed with the cool whip on the side, said it was yummy. We had water for drinks. The total was almost $34. Fairly priced if the potatoes would have been freshly cooked. I left a $5 courteous tip for the server. The ambiance was nice and casual. I would definitely go back for a glass of ice water. It tasted amazing and refreshing. It's not black owned but clearly we are the blueprint I had one of the Bad Boy Biscuits (which our excellent server highly recommended)-- The P Diddy: bacon, cheddar, fried egg, and avocado, smothered with gravy. They come up with some interesting names for their drinks and they all seem to be great combinations - hats off to the cocktail mixologist! For our meal, I ordered the Fight! For your Right to Pudding (see picture), my wife ordered the Sean Combs (see picture) and my son ordered the Mimosa Chicken and Waffles (see picture). Probably my favorite thing here is the service, top notch! I was in Iowa to run a 50 mile trail race on Saturday about 70 miles outside of Des Moines. After a shower and a lot of sleep, I got up on Sunday morning and searched Yelp for the perfect place to enjoy breakfast. After reading some reviews and looking at some pictures I put the address for eggs and jam in my GPS and drove over there. It was about 8:45 in the morning and I was able to sit outside without waiting. All the staff was incredibly friendly and my server Chelsey was excellent. She came by and took my order for coffee while I peruse the menu a little while. I ended up deciding to treat myself to mimosa. It was delicious. It had so much flavor. I asked her for a couple suggestions and she gave me some. I ended up choosing "The Informer" which checks all the boxes for me, potatoes, scrambled eggs, toast, an option of bacon or sausage, which I chose bacon extra crispy! it came out pretty quickly and everything was perfect. The meal was huge. The eggs were fluffy. The potatoes were perfectly roasted they give you a choice of jam to accompany the toast, and I chose a spicy peach. Most of the time I don't even use the jam, but I had to try it and it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed sitting on the patio people watching while I ate my breakfast and enjoyed my morning. I love when I find little gems like this while I'm traveling because breakfast is my favorite meal and It's definitely the highlight after a good workout! But on Saturday and Sunday, if you want to order take out, you must come to the establishment and order it there. There was a line of people waiting to get in. We had to wait only about 40 mins before being called in. We opted to sit at the bar. The Food here is generous!!! I had the Egg White tacos with potatoes as a side. And I added a single HUGE pancake. I wasn't a fan of the tacos at all. The potatoes were perfect! The Pancake was great. I had whip cream and fruit on top. Glad I ordered the pancake, otherwise I would have been left hungry. We shared a Raspberry carafe, which equaled about 4 glasses. Good, but strong for real. lol. I didn't realize it was topped Chambord. Whew! Which made it strong, and took me forever to drink the 2nd glass. Again, there wasn't really a "vibe" to be considered a 90's eatery. Started with the humpty dance which is a raspberry donut cheesecake and wow that was the perfect lightness to a cheesecake which normally is very heavy. Then my fiance had the yo homes to bel air made into a burrito which is a Philly steak omelette with provolone and grilled onions added queso. It is beyond filling and full of flavor.
