Finally made it out for a sammie and it was great. You order when you walk in and they bring it to you when it's done. There's also a drive-through available. Many, many options to choose from. It was hard to decide. I went with the Mediterranean Greek one and the flavor combo was fantastic. My husband went with a roast beef one. He liked it, but wants to try others. The decor is fun and they have great names for the food. There's also a bar you can sit at and order alcoholic drinks. We will be back. read more

I had this delivered, so I can't attest to service or ambiance. I ordered the La Canna (Italian) added banana peppers. Along with French onion soup. Wrapped in foil, which I feel kept my toasty sandwich warm. French onion soup had a lid on it AND was fully wrapped in foil, I'm assuming this was a "just in case" measure. Best sub I've ever had and I did have a favorite regular place, which is still delicious, but Cheba Hut takes it up a notch! Plenty of fillings and sauce on my sub and the soup was so flavorful! Cheba Hut has been on my list for a bit and I finally had time to check it out after work yesterday afternoon. I placed an order for two sandwiches online. The process was easy and the pick-up time was going to be 18 min out. I was driving from Clive to Johnston so that was actually about what I needed. They have apps in Google Play and the App Store. If you're into rewards programs they have that too. I'm surprised not a lot of people have mentioned the seating and the patio this place has. Sure the decor is eclectic, but I'm not big on the 420 culture. Not against it and not a huge proponent of recreational use of it. Just was never my thing... Honestly though...I don't really care what someone hangs on their walls or calls something on their menu... As long as the food tastes good! Their patio is beautiful and the seating is classic. I'm not sure what I expected, but it wasn't what I walked into. Maybe I thought it would be more like a head shop than a standard fast casual environment? My bad. Seating ranges from a classic bar and stools, high top tables and chairs, half booths (with padded backs) with low top tables and chairs. Ordering is done at the front counter or online. Their menu board at the front counter and online menu are easy to navigate. The two sandwiches I ordered: 5-0 (All the pig baby!!): Blunt (12"), garlic herb bread, salami, ham, cheddar cheese, bacon, pepperoni, prosciutto, giardiniera peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, house dressing (oil & vinegar), Cheba shake (parmesan & oregano). Add jalapeno peppers and banana peppers. Pacific Blue (tuna melt): Blunt (12"), garlic herb bread, tuna, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, house dressing (oil & vinegar), Cheba shake (parmesan & oregano). Add jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, mayo, and dijon mustard. The staff tonight was great. The two young ladies behind the bar said hello as I walked in. The other two young ladies and the gentleman behind the front counter did the same as I approached them. I let them know my name and they handed my bag over to me. My arms literally dipped... A smile rolled across my face. It's like when the staff at Tasty Tacos hands you your order...and it's heavy. You know what I mean. If it's light... Not as good of a night. These two sandwiches had to weigh close to three pounds (plus or minus). I got home. Unwrapped them. Snapped a few pictures and dug in. Fantastic! I wasn't unhappy with anything... Some of the combinations are a little different than other sandwich spots. Shredded cheddar cheese? I didn't know I liked it on a sub. I do now. Ballpark... You're probably looking at an average of $14 for a 12" sandwich (blunt). $11 for an 8" (pinner) and $7 for a 4" sandwich (nug). And you have to browse their munchies and Kool Aid selection...! I consider myself a big eater. A footlong from Subway... Not even a challenge to put down. Well over half of my order from Cheba Hut is wrapped up and in my fridge (for lunch today). Stopped in on recommendation from a couple friends. The vibe was perfect for us. We were welcomed warmly. The menu is up above the counter and a little overwhelming but I didn't shy away. I went right up to the counter and asked the women at the counter what her favorite is. Then my husband asked her what the last thing she ate was. This has always worked out for us. She put together the best sandwich for us. After we put in our orders we took our number and made our way out to sit on the patio. It didn't take very long and our sandwiches came out. She had told me the Kali Mist (Spicy Club) was popular. Its roasted turkey breast, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapeno, avocado, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. She let me take off the extra jalapeno because she said it was the perfect heat without it. Normally I am not one to go for turkey for a sub, but this was perfect. Really hit the spot. I really want to like this restaurant because I love toasted subs and I like that they have a good selection of vegetarian subs. However, the veggie subs have been disappointing and sad. The 1st time I ordered from here I ordered the Magic Mushroom and it literally had 2 mushrooms on the whole sandwich. It was all bread and no teriyaki flavor. The 2nd time (this time) I ordered the Mushroom marinara and asked for no green peppers and extra mushrooms and sauce. I received green peppers and just a few mushrooms and sauce. This place is amazing, from the vibe to the staff to the delicious munchies! We ordered multiple sandwiches which were all delicious as well as a couple of different rice crispy treats. The three different staff members that we had interactions with were all very helpful and friendly, you could feel that they enjoyed working there. Lively music sounded on the patio so if you don't like music or are meeting for conversation be aware. It was fine for my husband and I. Nice variety of sandwiches that can be customized and available in sizes 4, 8 or 12 inches. With a chips and drink combo I only needed half of my 8 inch sandwich (pictured). The seasoning sprinkled on top adds a nice flavor. Bread choices: garlic (husband highly recommends), wheat or white. Toasted to perfection and served after a short 5-minute wait. Meats were legit but they also have. Vegetarian options. The sauces (mine dijonnaise mustard and my husband's chipotle ranch) were perfectly added to add flavor but did not make sandwich soggy. I did see people asking for additional sauce but for me it was the perfect amount. Meal combos include choice of drink with chips or dessert. The fruit loop bar was a clear favorite by patrons! Delicious food. Set apart from your standard "sub shop". Unique menu and overall high quality flavors!! Our first visit was great and the employees were helpful, happy and hospitable. They seemed genuinely happy to be there. No issues whatsoever with service. The theme/atmosphere is similar to zombie burger if we're comparing. Sort of grungy, laid back, cozy and clean. The bar offers a different setting if you're after that experience. My wife and I moved from Phoenix and loved Cheba hut so we were very excited to see it here (and pleasantly surprised). The OG location in AZ is awesome but this felt refreshing and updated. Disclaimer: this is a marijuana themed sub shop with not-so subtle innuendos and references to theme. We, personally, do not allow this to deter us from frequenting. We are perfectly comfortable bringing our 3.5 and 1.5 yr old here. We walked in and were immediately greated. We followed the wall toward the counter. It wasn't busy so we moved more toward the menu boards. An employee noticed we looked confused, she asked if we had been there before. We said no. She came out from behind the counter to talk to us. We went here for our first time seeing each other in a month because we are long-distance. We walked in and saw great vibes. Cool artwork on the walls and a bar to the left. Not too packed but still active. The woman who took our order was very polite and patient when we were deciding what we wanted. He got the white widow (chicken bacon ranch) on garlic and I got the sticky icky (peanut butter and jelly). We also got a cookie and a rice crispy, both homemade.
