I was hungry for a cheesesteak and was curious about this place. Based on the previous reviews I…read morethought it was worth a try. I was also intrigued about the cheesesteak egg rolls. I hate to say it but I didn't like it. I ordered a cheesesteak and a chicken cheesesteak egg roll. My biggest complaint with both was the meat was chopped way too fine for me. I'm use to big slices of steak and chicken in my cheesesteaks. The sub roll was also not substantial enough to stay intact when I bit into it. It just fell apart. I will try this place again when I'm visiting the area because like I said earlier others thought it was great. I'll also go earlier next time because I overheard the cook say while I was waiting, "here comes the end of the night rush." They had some good foot traffic.

Let's get into it! This Cheesesteak Cafe is a "Mom and Pops Joint" located at Peninsula Town…read moreCenter. It serves Philly-style cheesesteaks, samplers, egg rolls, exceptional customer service, and some of the Best Wings I have had in the area! The restaurant is relatively small and gloomy, with enough seating to hold about 20 people for dine-in; however, this place is not a dine-in but a takeout place. I like that they put their full menu online, unlike other places that only put limited items. Service is outstanding; my first time calling in an order, the server not only told me how long it would be. Also, on this occasion, after calling in my order and completing the call, the server realized there was something that they did not have at the time. So she took the time to call and let us know and offered us something else. It was honorable in my eyes that she did that. Lastly, when I arrived, she double-checked to ensure my order was correct before I left the store. I had a cheesesteak, and my wife had the same. They were served hot, cheese melted all the way, and tasted terrific; the only problem was they were light with the meat. This is a very unique menu. They have sampler platters that can feed an army or combo platters that can feed two, and the price is right. You can mix and match them or have the pre-selected item. Now, let me talk about these wings. AMAZING! Fried to perfection, seasoned with a wet or dry rub, plain or on the side. These are cooked to order, so if you get wings to go, they are still hot when you get home. These wings are excellent, and you get them whole or halved. The wings are a must-try; they are some of the best in the area! I recommend you call ahead, but if you don't, there is a seating area where you can wait. I will be back! Happy Yelping!

It has a modern diner type of vibe to it. Over the years the food and service here has been good. I come here when I want a hoagie and fries. As I walked in, I was greeted by the waitress and immediately seated myself. The menu was readily available in a shelf on the wall next to my table. As soon as I sat down, the waitress was ready to take my order. I had a craving for a sandwich. I ordered a large cold corned beef hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, mustard and mayo. I added a side of fries also. The beef is put on top of the toppings so the hoagie at first glance looks like its missing toppings. (See picture) Unsweet tea and water were my drinks. As I waited for my food I watched college basketball on the television screen in the back of the room. Eventually, the food arrived within ten minutes. The fries were hot and the hoagie was fresh. The hoagie and fries were so good I ordered and ate another hoagie. In addition to this the waitress ensured I had plenty to drink. At the end of the meal, my craving was satisfied. I was happy and full. I will be back definitely.

What an interesting place. I'm kind of a cheese steak nerd so some of my review may be a bit biased…read moreas I've had LOTS of different styles over the years. One thing to note is that this place is technically "The Cheesesteak Shop"... you'll see it on the menu when you come in. Rick's is a staple of a name in the Hampton Roads area. Rick's is a name that is synonymous with great Cheese Steak and if you visit them all you'll notice differences in the recipes/flavor amongst them. We were at the one in Williamsburg one week, then went directly to this one the next week later. This one, the meat is slightly more seasoned with pepper or something with a mild heat. Nothing crazy, just noticeable. The bread was a little wet and I really would've preferred it being more toasted. Overall, it was an 'ok' cheese steak. I was going to rate this a 3 but overall I give it a 4 b/c the service was friendly enough to warrant the boost. The smell drew me in the first time while visiting Lowe's and so glad I took a chance. A line is always a good sign that there are likely regulars and that spells something good is going on. The menu is posted on the outside and is simple fair type with burgers, sausages & cheesesteaks. The one young guy running the grille was friendly and recommended the cheesesteaks which I gotta say as a lover was suspicious. However I was willing to risk it on the off chance this food stand in a parking lot could actually deliver a fabulous steak. The price was affordable for a footling around $10 and added a bottle water and tip came to $13+ The cheesesteak was completed in around 8 minutes wrapped up and in a bag with napkins. I popped it open in the car and was amazed at the pure size and amount of meat. The smell was glorious with steam waffling above. The bread was fresh and authentic to Philly. The only thing left was a bite and it did not disappoint one bit, just wowzers! It was good enough to return prior to writing a review. It ended up being a carbon copy of my success with another incredibly delicious cheesesteak. This time I used a nearby picnic table to enjoy. This is a chain food stand. The owner has two located at Lowe's in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach on Holland Rd. If you love cheesesteaks then Dominic's delivers a masterpiece and you will not be disappointed. A 4.5 rounding up and later learned Yelp friend Terry was a super fan of their steaks which was cool. Don't forget to pick up a punch card when you buy 6 your 7th is FREE!

4.5 Stopped in for…read morelunch around 12:00 PM on a Friday. Street parking only. I didn't notice any meters, but I could imagine parking being tougher during a big event. Not local, so just something to be aware of. First impression is strong. Specials, awards, and a "Top 25 Burger in the U.S. (2021)" recognition are clearly displayed when you walk in. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and ambition of the food. The interior is well thought out. Heavy gold-and-black design with light brown accent chairs gives it a polished, upscale feel without being flashy. Leather seating is in great shape, and the tall ceilings paired with black vertical boards make the space feel larger than it is. Lighting is excellent, especially considering there are very few windows. Music is smooth and casual, though to some it could be turned down just a notch. The kitchen is semi-open behind a half wall, which adds to the experience early on as cooking smells build anticipation. Toward the end of my visit, the space did get slightly smoky. I arrived to an empty restaurant, but by the time I left there were around 20-25 people dining. Service was a highlight. Randy showed exceptional hospitality and checked in consistently without hovering. Food hit the table in about six minutes, which is impressive, even considering I was the only guest at first. I ordered the Major Way burger with sautéed onions, bacon, and their house drip sauce. The patty came out piping hot with a great exterior sear, though the interior flavor relies heavily on the sauce. The onions were almost cold, which stood out against the hot patty. The sauce is excellent, creamy with a light spice, and it absolutely carries the burger. Without it, the burger would feel underwhelming by comparison. The bun could benefit from toasting, as the bun struggled to hold everything together. Lettuce and tomato were fresh and crisp. If ordering to go, I'd recommend getting the buns on the side. Traditional wings were done right. Crispy outside, moist inside, and good-sized whole wings. They're essentially well-executed fried chicken wings. While very good, I feel like some seasoning may be burning off in the fryer. I'd love to compare these to their sticky or "everything" wings. Colossal shrimp was excellent. Great batter, excellent house sauce, and perfectly cooked with real texture. The seasoning shines here without tasting burnt. The fries were standout. Easily some of the best I've had in a while. Skinny, twice-fried, fresh-cut potatoes with a (I think) honey BBQ dusting. I intentionally ordered a smaller portion so the photo isn't portioned to size. House-made fruit punch was fantastic. Sweet, clean, and refreshing without that artificial coating you get from bottled drinks. I also appreciate their use of paper bowls and plates instead of styrofoam. The restaurant was clean top to bottom, including the bathrooms, which is always a strong indicator of good management. Overall, this place punches well above its weight. In a larger city, food at this level would easily cost 2.5-5x more. If you're spending lunch money at major fast-food chains nearby, redirect it here. You'll leave full and without that post-fast-food regret.
