We always have good experience but they were out of the mahi this time and my husband and I both ordered med rare prime rib. His was med rare and mine was more on the done side of medium and neither were juicy. My Green beans weren't very good either. Charlestons is a newer location addition here to the the 72nd-80th and dodge area. We stopped in here on a spur to do some celebrating. Overall it was nothing Spectacular and below average for what we could expect at many other spots at double the price. Hostess/Greeters were very impressively friendly and we got seated right away at a bench in the bar area. Our Server was very pleasant, friendly and did a perfect job waiting on us. Overall it had a very chain steakhouse feel to it. I got a massive prime rib that I thought was so so. The piece was a good quality looking center cut. But looks were pretty much it. Overall it was on the dry and chewy side, and did not have much flavor. I was a bit disappointed as the quality was not there with the steak. Our meal was pricey as well on the upper end of Omaha steak houses. My friends had similar feelings about the quality of their steaks that night Overall it should have been fabulous it was an expensive meal and the quality was a failure., Maybe I hit on an off night. maybe something will draw me back again someday and see if its better. read more

Food was great, service was terrible and dishes were dirty. We waited an hour to be seated (party of 5) and ordered drinks and food 5 minutes after we were seated. 25 minutes later we got salads and asked for drink refills. 10 minutes later we still had no drink refills and asked another waiter for refills. Food got to the table after 30 minutes and still no refills. 7 minutes after getting food the waitress returned, looked at all the empty drinks and asked if we needed anything. We said refills, and 10 minutes later, almost 30 minutes after asking the first time, we received them. To top it off, there was lipstick on the cup that my refill was brought to me in. Charleston's hosted our party of 20 for our son's baptism this past weekend. They did an amazing job. The food was delicious and our waiters Shawn and Matt were very attentive. Our drinks were never empty. They went above and beyond, even cutting and serving the sheet cake we brought. The entire staff was great especially Jason, the manager. Went here with 7 other co-workers on a Friday for lunch. It seemed pretty busy, but a few open tables for walk-ins (we reserved a head of time). It was a clean place with a chill vibe. Low lit dinning with waiters knowledgeable of their menus and promptly refilling glasses. The Dynamite Shrimp was very sweet. It came on a bed of shredded lettuce. Not spicy, not bad, and not too large of shrimp. The Shrimp Cargot was served on a plate with little dugout's for each individual shrimp. They were larger than the dynamite shrimp and came drenched in butter and covered with havarti cheese with some toast. I liked this better of the two shrimp appetizers. The Chicken Fried Steak was nicely hand breaded. The breading came out crispy and the steak was nicely pounded out. As you got to the center of the large (portioned) steak it got a lot thicker. It was still juicy at some spots. It layed atop a bed of mashed potatoes, which were the best of a little of everything. It was mostly creamy, with a few chunks of bigger potatoes parts that were not completely mashed, and flakes of skin mixed in. The side of glazzed carrots we're good initially. But after two pieces consecutively, they began getting too sweet for my liking (I didn't finish them). Overall, it was a nice change of pace from some other places. Nice environment and experience. A little pricey for some items, but I got lucky with the portion of my chicken fried steak and potatoes. read more

Charlestons ribs are the best I have had! It's weird to say that but I have tried ribs in St Louis, KC, and Dallas and still I would rather have Charlestons ribs. It comes with fries and a side and you can also order a hot crescent roll to go with it. read more

Amazing. I had the Caesar salad which came with a honey butter croissant that was the best roll I have ever had. I would buy a side order of three or four rolls if they offered it. Then I got my hands on the top sirloin steak, that was made exactly as I wanted, which is hard for me to get. My steak needs to be medium well and they delivered! The waiter who brought it asked me to cut the middle to ensure it was made correctly. Finally, key lime pie. That was so tasty, so incredible, that I couldn't eat all of it! A to-go box was had so I could make another meal of it. Overall, outstanding, Charleston's! You make an excellent meal and experience! read more

A very lovely steakhouse with a beautiful upscale steakhouse environment. Large rectangle bar. Even though it's relatively large, it doesn't feel too large or loud. Somehow they created the atmosphere, and most every restaurant would be envious of. The food is always good. A must try is their porterhouse pork chops. The steals are cooked perfectly without burning the outside while the inside is still raw. I hate the way some upscale steakhouses do that. read more

Had a hunkering for a steak dinner, but Acacia told me about the specials, and at her recommendation, had one of the best chicken Marsala I've had. Service was fantastic (everyone was assisting everybody). The gumbo was just delish too! Acacia and I chatted abit and whenever I head to dinner in a new town, I always ask the server to give me two or three things off the beaten path to check out. Acacia gave me three or four things to do and see. We bonded over the Denver sights that I have been to and was just a delight to chat with. Charleston's is upscale casual. The interior is dimly lit at night and great for any occasion. Back home for the holidays, I came here with my mom needing some sustenance and totally needing a drink. We were right on time for Happy Hour, which looked great on their web site. We were seated in the dining room and given menus. Our server came over and asked about drinks. I asked about HH and was told it was only in the bar area. I hate when places do this. What difference does it make where I sit?! Not only that, but the bar area doesn't have comfortable seating for me so it's not even an option regardless. I ordered their signature Manhattan and we ordered the dynamite shrimp appetizer. We also decided to split their chIcken club salad. The shrimp was great and plenty to share. My cocktail, however, was mediocre at best. I would stick to wine if I came back. It was great how they split the salad for us. They brought it out on separate plates and we each got to pick our own dressing. I am glad we split both dishes as it ended up being the perfect amount. I have been to both Charleston's locations multiple times. Service is always great and the food is better than average. read more

Took my mom there for Mother's Day and the experience was wonderful. Place was busy, but we were seated right away and during the meal we observed that the staff were really working well as a team. Drinks were very nice and the wine list is really good. Our meals were excellent and we sampled chicken and fish dishes. The lightly smoked salmon was a hit with my wife! Not super impressed! For a steakhouse in Omaha it was sub par. The interior is gorgeous. I got the ribeye and my husband got the prime rib. Not seasoned very well and the baked potato looked like it had processed cheese. I also got the bread pudding and it tasted more like fruit cake. The service overall was really good - however we had the most unenthusiastic waiter I think I have ever experienced. First time and experience was not up to my standards. Fish & Chips was well over fried. Chicken Piccata, the saute chicken seemed poached not sauteed. Tomato's have no business being in this recipe. When asked to have them removed server said it could not be done. I walked up to the manager and asked if anything can be omitted from a dish, he stated yes. Came to Charleston's while visiting from out of town. When I got my baked potato and cut into it the potato was rotten. Our server, Josh, immediately apologized and said he would try to speak to the manager. The manager never came by and apologized and only offered a free dessert. Josh was apologetic but I am thoroughly disappointed that the manager never stopped by the table to apologize or acknowledge that I was served rotten food. The restaurant was not busy so management should have had ample opportunity to stop by. I will never return while visiting and will encourage others not to eat there as well. read more

It was a nice steakhouse. When in Omaha it's always tradition to eat steak. ( honestly this place was built on steak) but I've already had Omaha steak while here so I opted for the pork chop. My main complaint with a lot of places is their pork chops are always too dry. Well not here they were juicy the baked beans were fantastic the mashed potatoes were scrumptious and creamy. Yes this place is a true find. Cost were average for what I've been paying here in Omaha. You come here give em a try. I haven't had their beef steak but I'm sure it's as good as the Pork chops. One mistake I made though was I forgot the apple sauce for my chops. read more

This place really took me by surprise. The inside was very classy and upscale, just very welcoming. My son and I are foodies and we usually take a while to decide, but not here. Usually one of my go to restaurants when I have counter-parts in Omaha. Last visit I advised I needed a GF salad due to an allergy (celiacs). Half way through my salad I found a crouton. I did not say anything while I was there because I will with co-workers but did call after I left. The manager said she would talk to the kitchen staff and I left it at that. Everything that I tried at my last visit was great. The firecracker shrimp had the perfect amount of eat and the slaw that came with it was flavorful and crisp. Usually dishes that include slaws have withered by the time the item gets to your table, but this was spot-on. The spinach and artichoke dip was creamy and flavorful without being greasy/heavy and separating as what happens with the same dish at other restaurants. The sirloin was a bit tough, but had great flavor. The only part of my visit I didn't care for was the house wine. Personally, it left quite a bit to be desired, but maybe I just need to branch out on my wines. read more

This review is for the Perfect Margarita only. I had visitors in town, people actually are visiting me in Nebraska...we wanted a margarita but couldn't think of where. I figured Charleston's probably had a decent bar. They have a nice bar set up for a quick drink or if you wanted to dine belly up, which pre-kid was my favorite mode of dining. The 'Perfect Margarita' was their first item on the drink menu...score. We ordered three of those bad Larry's. They were served in a martini glass, no rocks, a skewer with two green olives and a lime. I kinda side-eyed the olives at first but it ended up being the absolute perfection of sweet and salty. The margarita itself was absolutely divine. Since we only came in for a quick one, we left after one but I think we could've stayed all day!!! AVERAGE ALERT!! Nothing spectacular. Nothing is more disappointing than walking into a restaurant with beautiful decor and an upscale feel and then receiving your meal... and it being mediocre! The shrimp appetizer was yummy. I had the chicken parm... completely DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!! It was BLAND BLAND BLAND!!!!!!!!! I will NOT be bad. The waitress was very nice but I think she forgot about us. We needed a refill for 18 minutes (yes, we timed it)-- she never came so we picked up our cell phone and called the restaurant and requested that our waitress bring us refills (they were totally confused)... but she finally did come!! We came catfish and they waitress told us that they did not have catfish at this location well the commercial should say "at select locations." But I guess I am confused as to WHY a place on 72nd and Dodge doesn't have catfish. The waitress said that during training they said that they didn't think that this location would get business for catfish... which is so odd. 1. It is close to North Omaha... not saying that all North Omahans love catfish... but not saying that they don't! ;) I'm just saying... there are WAY more catfish restaurants in N. Omaha than there are in West Omaha... so that should speak to which population enjoys catfish. We are from the Offutt area and I KNOW for a fact that a lot of the military population looks for yummy catfish (esp when there is a rotation of military folks from down South)... And 72nd is much loser than 132! Charleston who does your market analysis?!?! Because they clearly need to be retrained! read more

Lunch at Charleston's. Restaurant is fairly large and seat almost 300. Inside is dark with a lot of wood, stone and black and brown furniture. All the waiters and waitresses wear black. Lot of business professionals dining in the restaurant. Menu has your standard fare associated with most restaurants; e.g. fish, chicken, beef, etc. Daily specials as well. Service overall was good and attentive. We played it simple and got tilapia and cheeseburger. Tilapia comes with rice and mixed vegetables. Requested that no peppers be put in the mixed veggies. When it came out, not only were there peppers in the mixed veggies, but also in the rice as well. Tilapia tasted over salted. Asked for the cheeseburger to be medium well. Came out rare to medium rare. Showed the waitress and she confirmed it was not cooked as requested. Asked if I wanted another sandwich. Didn't have time due to an appointment. Left the sandwich on the plate. The cilantro slaw (actually had a bit of a kick) was tasty as well as the smokehouse beans. Manager came over and inquired about the meal. Ended up having the burger still laying more or less uneaten other than a couple bites removed from the bill. Doubtful we'll eat here again. Too many other restaurants in Omaha and the surrounding area to try. Not exactly cheap either. After the burger was removed from the bill, the cost was still $30 bucks without tip. read more

So many extra points for the waiter, Casey. It was so busy and he was so pleasant, attentive and helpful. If you go here try and be in his section. He helped us choose what we would order, checked in regularly and refilled waters frequently. The best part of the meal was the honey flavored, buttery croissants before dinner. Easily could have been a dessert too. We got enough that we could take some home. Yum!! The food was also good (smoked salmon for me and chicken fried steak for my coworker). We were both happy with our orders. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night which says something for the service and the variety of good choices on the menu. I walked in and the ambiance was welcoming as was the hostess. I ordered the chicken piccata. It was the perfect portion for a lighter dinner and seasoned just right. It was not too salty like you often get. I blew the light meal when my server informed me that they had bread pudding as a dessert special. It was enough for two and delicious. I recently experienced Charleston's Restaurant after years of living outside of Omaha and the waiters service was the absolute worse in my experience and I have been in the service industry for over 30yrs. He was what you would call a drive by waiter. He would literally walk by running his hand along the table as he would ask a question not waiting for the answer. He never gave any specials, nor offered dessert nor did he ask if everything was alright with our food. One drive by 'conversation' went like this, I need to know if this is together or separate so when I bring the check......zoom! I did report this to the manager and requested that he would have a conversation with this waiter prior to sitting anyone else in his section. Believe it or not I was meeting my sister for the first time. What an absolute disappointment. *The restaurant wasn't busy that night, and even if that had been, great service is what Charleston's is supposedly known for. #epicfail *It's sad how Zoe asked me to complete the link for a response from corporate, which I did, and no one contacted me.
