We had a party of about 30 people, so I knew we would likely overwhelm the kitchen. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they managed to juggle our multiple tables quite effectively. Overall, the atmosphere was very clean and inviting. I was honestly surprised they weren't busier on a Friday night. The menu had a lot of good selections, and the price point felt reasonable. I gave this place a 4-star rating mainly because my wife and I both ordered our steaks medium, but they came out somewhere between rare and medium-rare. 5 of us were at the Charleston's on NE Highway and there was a line when we arrived. I set up the YELP app to be notified of our table being ready. After about 40 minutes I went to the hostess station and asked about our table. The hostess said they had notified us..But I never got a notification on the YELP app. We were seated in a large booth near the kitchen and there were empty tables in the dining room. A booth for 4 people would have been fine, but for 5 full size adults it was very uncomfortable. Once we were seated our server was great and the food was wonderful. We were just uncomfortable with 5 full size adults in a booth for 6. We were hungry and just accepted the booth so we could order and have dinner before it got too late. Please review the YELP App as it appears to not be working. We will be cack to eat here again and will ASK FOR A TABLE VS A BOOTH IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. read more

If you are looking for a quiet place to be able to visit over dinner this Hal Smith gem is our Friday evening oasis. As always when we came in the door we were greeted by smiling faces. We had a very enjoyable lunch here. The house salad is very tasty with blue cheese and comes with a treat of a croissant. I enjoyed a filet cooked at the correct temperature although I wish the sear was a bit harder. The loaded baked potato is good but not great. The potato is over cooked and not fluffy. They could work on this. The toppings are great but could use (more?) butter. I would eat here again. Our severe Cheyanne was pleasant and attentive. The portion was huge but so good I'm usually picky on my carrots but I'd definitely get those again and vietti moscato wine. Wine was sweet really liked that. It took about 5 mins before Jesse came but he did really good. They had some background music in the background not too loud I would say it was moderate to hearing people. The kale and quinoa salad is the premier option for lunch. This salad boasts a large amount of healthy crunchy leaves. It also has an amazing flavor and I try to mix up the salad dressings in combination on each side of the salad. I would definitely go to Charleston's every day, if I could afford it. read more

My father decided to host a belated Father's Day dinner and chose Charleston's for the location, mainly due to it being a tradition that my now-late grandparents used to host the family there frequently during various holidays or special occasions. I feel guilty now for accepting his generosity in paying for the meal. The food, all of it, was very mediocre. They seem to have really fallen off the horse. For starters, the spinach dip and queso dip appetizers are $16 each, which is ridiculous regardless of the quality. But the quality was terrible. Both tasted like canned, microwaved garbage. Then the entrees, oh the entrees. I won't even list the prices, but you can bet they were high. The descriptions in the menu about these dishes and how they are prepared would definitely make those charges worth the cost if the end product reflected those words. I am by no means a picky eater, but these were horrible. Everyone in the family expressed disappointment. They're all pretty well-rounded people too as far as going out to eat. I believe Charleston's has passed its time. They need to go the way of TGI Fridays and let the lawn consume the parking lot as they never reopen. read more

And it looked like the steak was not flattened at all as there is breading in the middle between meat so it must have not been flat or turned into itself somehow. With the amount I spent I expected better. My delivery expectations are low but this was awful and very disappointing. You ever had so much iced tea you felt kinda light headed and excited? That's Charleston's. The staff will keep the teas coming. Managers, servers, cooks... they all have access to the tea and directions to your table. My brother got the chicken fried steak which comes with mashed potatoes and carrots but he subbed the carrots for French fries. Double taters and no one said poo. Amazing. I got the impossible burger because I wanted to see what the fuss was about and I guess the fuss was about how it's a great burger! We sat in a booth but they had tables as well. Their potato soup is one of my favorite in the city. I will say the breast of the chicken I was given was a bit drier than it usually is, but still very flavorful. Such a great place! I usually get a salmon caesar salad when I go here, but I was craving chicken parmesan, so I got that, while the rest of the people I was with got their chicken special. I was skeptical about this dish, but it turns out to be quite delicious! Great portion size. The crust of the chicken parmesan was crispy and did not fall apart as you cut into it. It has a nice cheesy and nutty flavor. And the meat inside was moist. The side salad was tasty and fresh; the olive-oil based dressing was simply superb! But the mozzarella pieces lack flavor, I know it's a mild cheese, but it was rubbery. Other than that, it was a good lunch; and was worth every penny. read more

Time to update this review, though my last one is still relevant. Since my last review, I have been here a billion times. I pretty much always order the Dynamite Shrimp Salad. Why? Because I'm literally addicted to it, that's why. It has a whole crap ton of ingredients that are all focused on freshness, flavor balance, and crunch. It has 3 sauces: the dynamite, the vinaigrette, and a peanut sauce. It also comes with a croissant for no reason cuz why not, which is flaky delicious heaven and I don't even really like croissants. I've also converted three people to this salad and now they order it all the time too. I've tried unsuccessfully to concoct this in my own kitchen. I end up with a good salad, but without the signature flavors I crave. I like to go to the restroom at least once so that I can count how many Dynamite Shrimp Salad brothers and sisters I have at any given time. Usually there's like ten other Dynamite Shrimp Salads. And while I am somewhat joking (even though I'm serious), this is actually a significant positive as everyone who is part of the Dynamite Shrimp Salad coalition is contributing towards the freshness, crispiness, etc. of the next people who order it. Just like it sucks to get the soggy McDonald's fries at the bottom of a batch and awesome to get the fresh crispy ones, so too is this true with the Dynamite Shrimp Salad. In order to support my addiction, I have to rotate lunch friends since nobody wants to come here as much as I do. My friends all order different things while I order the same old thing. They always like their food. Another thing of note is the service is amazing. I was just traveling and my mom likes to go to these hoity toity fancy places that are like $300. The service at Charleston's is literally better than these places (this of course an exaggeration, but service doesn't always match the dollar). They constantly fill your water and if any waitstaff see an empty plate or whatever, they immediately take it, even if it's not their table. I think they have some cultural mantra or something that dictates every table is your table. Idk, I'm probably making that up, but it sure seems like it. I generally don't like chain restaurants, but the quality and consistency and service are so high at Charleston's, it's totally one of my favorites. They also do Postmates, which means I can get Dynamite Shrimp Salads delivered to my house. Did I mention the Dynamite Shrimp Salad? Try it! read more
