Only reason why it's a 4 out of 5 is because I didn't like the parking situation. They had a hand sanitizer that each customer stopped at before walking to the register. The men behind the counter were very helpful . I had no idea what I wanted and he pretty much picked for me. He have my friend and I a sample bowl to try the the rice okra spinach and veggies. We have been to Charga several times, but tonight we had such a horrific experience we will not be returning. We would much rather go across the street to Arlington Kabob. I ordered the bowl with the tandoori chicken kabob. The kabob was completely over spiced. I could have dealt with the intense flavor by dipping the chicken into the garlic sauce, but there was absolutely no chicken to dip! The "kabob" was all bone and fat. I could not get any meat and I tried really hard. The other meals we ordered were completely y over spiced too, and were uneatable. A very disappointing experience. read more

He gave great recommendations and then hooked me up with every sauce so I could try everything. Your first time here you should get the charga chicken. Perfectly cooked, and its the only place in the area you can get it. The roasted potato and lentil sides were great as well. The food exceeded my expectations!!! I had 1/2 Perugia chicken w/ season rice and lamb Champs. Everything was the BOMB.com. Both the chicken and lamb were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I stopped in to check Charga out today , as I'm regularly driving up and down Rt. 29, and going to Wendy's, McDonalds, or KFC. Glad I did, as this place has several GREAT sandwiches, and much more personality than either of the chains. Today I had the salmon sandwich, which they grilled to my choice (rare) and served on a tasty bun with aioli sauce and onions and french fries (available regular, cajun or spicy) on the side. This was a healthy (big) portion of salmon, and together the ingredients. A great sandwich to start with, but while I was there I heard of 2 others I'll be back for soon. Not on the menu, but one of the chef's favorites is the "chopped cheese", a variation on a classic Philly steak and cheese, but featuring ground beef instead of typical sliced steak. Same toppings and bun, this sounded like I should try it on my next visit. 3rd choice will be the chicken sandwich, which the owner told me he came up with as a competitor to Popeye's chicken sandwich. At one point he challenged customers to try this sandwich, and if they preferred Popeye's, he'd return their money. Several hundred sandwiches in, he hasn't had to return any money. Charga offers several other sandwiches, and "build your own bowls" built around 4 types of chicken, salmon, grilled chickpeas and beef. And don't be fooled this place cooks the food to perfection every single side dish and we had Peruvian chicken which is in seemed like it was cooked to perfection slightly smoked and super delicious! We picked up three whole chicken and 12 sides and they ended up giving us three additional sides to try these people are super nice and friendly! My whole family was completely packed to the gills we had five adults and two children and no way to complete or finish all the food! I'm looking forward to lunch leftover chicken quarter with the roasted potatoes and chickpeas! You can't go wrong we had mixed vegetables, cilantro rice, yucca, french fries, chickpeas, spinach, black beans Green sauce yellow sauce and the tangy sauce I'm probably forgetting a couple of the sites all I know is my mouth was completely in heaven! Probably a good idea if you're ordering this much to call ahead just a friendly tip! I did not mind waiting since I was waiting for fresh cooked chicken I don't think they expected anybody to walk in and take three whole chickens! Came across this place today while debating on what to eat for dinner. Charga which primarily is a Crispy Fried chicken covered in seasonings and topped of with a sprinkle of Chaat Masala (Tangy Spice). We walked in and placed the order. The lady at the register, very sweet and polite. Great customer service. Food came out in a timely manner. They weren't too busy but a nice flow. Food was not bad. The Sajji I feel could have used more marination but thats my bias opinion. The Charga was pretty good but again a bit more seasoning will be helpful. To top it all of, I had to get that infamous glass bottle coke. Iunderstand that they might be keeping their hands a bit tight on the seasoning, so they can target different types of ethic groups. I sure will give it another try sometime. read more

Great taste for Peruvian chicken, not like some called Peruvian restaurants that the put so much cummin that it tastes to cummin.

Let's just say I came here for dinner one day and went back 4 nights in a row! This place is amazing! They serve all different types of food and each cuisine is cooked beautiful and full of flavor. My first time here, got my food to go. Inside is clean and has lots of seating. Staff was nice and food was done in 5 minutes. Got the 1/4 sajji chicken, which came with salad and one side (I got yucca). It comes with green sauce (spicy) and white sauce (not sure how to describe, but not tzatziki). Naturally raised grass fed meat. No GMOs or MSGs. Shopping center has limited parking, but they have reserved spots for Charga customers which is nice. Chicken was delicious and well seasoned. It came with so much yucca and the salad was also pretty big. Wish I would have gotten 1/2 chicken because it was so good, but I was still satisfied and full. All for $8! The flavors are from a wide variety I specifically got Tandori this time. It came out in cubes as you can see which is different than what was expected. I have tried a variety of different dishes from Charga and everytime I have dined here, the food has been fresh and delicious. I have dined in on a few occasions over the weekend where it had been a bit difficult to find parking, but since my last visit I was able to park in the rear of the building which had several available spots which was a plus. As for the dining experience, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. My two favorite dishes that I have tried from here was the Fried Fish, and the Charga Chicken. The fish was deep fried to perfection, and a very good portion size. The Charga was not too spicy, and the chicken was very tender and juicy. The quality of the food is what keeps me coming back. My fiancee and I discovered Charga recently while looking for a new place to get chicken. We tried the charga and sajji chicken and lentils, roasted potatoes, okra, and fried rice for sides. We also got to try, with the owner's recommendations, all the sauces, which were great. My favorites were the chutney and the garlic. The chicken was outstanding, cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. The side dishes were also top notch. As somebody who grew up in the deep south, I have an affinity for okra and this was some of the best I've had. The mango lassis are also excellent and the best that I've had. We have gone a few more times and tried a few additional items and sides. The kebabs are really delicious and a bargain, and the chicken tikka masala and rice is extremely flavorful. It's worth being aware that what they show on the menu in the restaurant is a very, very small fraction of the incredibly diverse range of food that they offer, so check out the menu online. Or you can ask the owner, who is easily one of the friendliest and most passionate people you can meet. After talking with the owner and eating the food, you can tell that it is all done with incredible love for the customers and the food.
