We were there by chance during Happy Hour (after 3pm). I didn't get his name. He has wavy dark hair past his ears. Five stars on this first visit. the second time we were there, it was yesterday, service was 180 opposite directions. This server, brown wavy hair past his ears and dark mustache took our orders and never came back. When we were ready for the check he was busy talking to someone unrelated to food orders or food..period! He didn't care to look over. Then I asked the host for our check. She tried helping but could not print our check because she was not the server. She then walked over to get his attention discretely, no such luck, he kept on talking. A few more minutes, I asked her if she was getting me the check, she explained that she could not. So i waited, I think he glanced over and back to jabbing. Then the host had to go get help from the someone that could override and allowed her to print. horrible service this second time..not sure I want to take a chance on bad services again. the place was not busy at that time so busyness cannot be a reason. And, he was not working, he spent that time talking.

We had a 15 minute wait for our table so we sauntered over to the bar and got a drink. As always, the table was ready much sooner, which is greatly appreciated. We brought our drinks over the table and maybe 5 minutes (that's a long time after being seated) later our server popped their head in and said, Do you know what you want to eat? Straight to the point. No, How Are You Doing, No nothing. Just have you made up for your mind. lol I could tell she was miffed because we brought drinks over from the bar. There goes the larger bill, therefore a larger gratuity. I know from experience, that was always a pet peeve. You also never know the type of evening someone is having. I always try to extend a little grace in the long run. I'm sure a lot have enjoyed their Chicken Parmigiana. I'm not one of them, mainly for all of the beets and carrots. Yes, beets and carrots took out more than half of the plate. I counted four bowtie pasta. Not to mention the beets were hidden under all of the carrots. And that's fine, but let people know that you're getting beets and carrots with Chicken Parm entree. I think either the server or the menu said something about broccoli. I had two florettes. Dessert (cheesecake with blueberry sauce ) was amazing, but the serving size was sad. Call me Tom, short for Petty, but there was more Readi Whip than cheesecake. And the size. Oh, the size, it was so small. Speaking of small, I think they get 12 chicken Parmesan from one chicken breast. Extremely thin. I know darn well all of these rising costs are hitting everybody/business in their pocketbooks, but, just don't serve some things. With all this said, I will be back. Like I said initially, I know they make good food. Looking forward to trying a grinder, just won't get the chicken Parmesan with root vegetables. PS. I dinedthere a few nights ago and then I got this alert.

We split our bill based on what we had. Some how my three margaritas ($11 each), nachos ($9) and tacos ($10) equaled $69 after tax?!?!?! Waited at least ten minutes for an explanation (AKA receipt) and didn't get one. When asked again what was the deal, the waiter returned 5-10 minutes later with $15 in cash since they already had charged my credit card. Never coming back.

Our first attempt turned out to be during a fund raising event for the bluegrass ensemble that appears to call this place home. We decided to return the next night, hoping it would be easier to find a table. Once we came back, both the food and drink lived up to expectations. I enjoyed a smash burger, and the fish entree made my wife very happy, and the grilled BBQ spring onions were an absolutely unique side dish. The space is vast, with a soaring arched barn-style roof, and there was a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. Some of the indoor seating was near a stage, and we were close enough to be able to enjoy a bluegrass jam session, even though the musicians were in a circle, playing purely for themselves, and not amplified. They do not take reservations, so expect a wait if you visit in prime time.

I was really happy I was able to get a twice baked potato, because I find them as a delicacy that are slowly fading away. I loved how all the flavors in this just came together so well. And it was definitely the star of the show. For the prime rib sandwich, I found that when paired with the au jus, it came together quite well. I noticed my friend got horseradish with his dish, but I didn't get it with mine. When I added some of that to the sandwich, it elevated it even more. I tried a bite of my friend's prime rib and it was pretty solid. The crispy onion was really good too. The fries from my friend's burger weren't bad either. The service here is really attentive, they have a pretty solid happy hour menu and the ambiance is really nice here too. I would recommend coming here!

We've been to The Keg many times over the years, and there's a reason we keep coming back. The…read moresteaks are consistently phenomenal, the atmosphere is polished without feeling stuffy, the desserts are usually excellent, and overall we've always associated The Keg with a higher level of hospitality. This visit was for a particularly important occasion. There were six of us celebrating our friend Amanda's birthday. this year we really wanted the evening to be about celebrating Amanda, surrounding her with people who love her, and giving her a genuinely happy birthday memory. We had a six-top in the bar, and overall dinner was very good. Management seemed attentive, the food was well prepared, and I especially appreciated that they use seat numbers when delivering food rather than standing at the table auctioning off plates. As someone who works in hospitality, that little detail matters. It's professional, polished, and exactly what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Our server, Kaylee, I believe, took care of us throughout dinner. Her service style was a little robotic and dry, but everyone has a different personality and that certainly didn't ruin our evening. The meal does take some time, but honestly, we enjoyed that because it gave the six of us plenty of time to talk, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. Unfortunately, the end of the evening is where things really fell short. Toward the end of dinner, I privately found our server and told her it was Amanda's birthday and asked if she could bring out a dessert with a candle. I was hoping for just a small surprise and a nice birthday moment for our friend. Instead, the desserts were brought to the table with the candle unlit, placed in the middle of the table, and then the candle was lit right there. It completely removed the element of surprise and just felt very flat and mechanical. I wasn't expecting a Broadway production or the entire restaurant to sing, but a little warmth and enthusiasm would have meant a lot--especially at a restaurant known for hospitality. We also ordered a crème brûlée, and unfortunately it was genuinely bad. It wasn't sweet and had an overwhelming egg flavor--to the point that everyone who tried it compared it to scrambled eggs. We took one bite and were done. What made that more disappointing was that our server never returned after dropping off the desserts. I had already handed her my card for our roughly $450 check, so there was never an opportunity for her to ask how dessert was or for us to let her know something was wrong. Overall, I'd call this about a 3 1/2 out of 5 experience. The steaks and dinner itself were very good, the restaurant remains beautiful, and there are still many things The Keg does exceptionally well. I just wish the final 15 minutes had matched the level of care shown throughout the rest of the meal. For most people, a birthday candle might seem like a tiny detail. For Amanda, this particular birthday meant a little more. I just wish that moment had been handled with a little more thought and warmth.

This was slightly spicy, had no or minimal cream (addition of some helped slightly), and is a really weird texture - not chunky like Chanterelle's but not smooth, more a coarse purée. And lacking the other veggies that the Chanterelle soup had like the onions. Didn't try the rest of the menu, but when I do come back will avoid the tomato bisque. Really sad as I had understood that they had purchased the original recipe. Which is stellar. The hostess/waitress was lovely as is the location and the rest of the menu looked good.
