    Delicious water for the table.
    Zenobia C.

The food was amazing! It was a special evening and we wanted to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before. Our server, Chris took exceptional care of us which made our experience even more special. I could tell that Char is not a usual restaurant and not overly designed. IMHO, the ambiance is close to European simple design. Nothing gaudy here. I'll be back just to sit comfortably at the bar. Elevated New Mexican cuisine.

Most likely the best steak restaurant in the city! From the food to the presentation, everything is dialed in! The salsa flight was delicious with a great selection of local flavors! Recommend this place for special occasions!

We were blown away by the ambiance and presentation at this restaurant. Our filet stayed perfectly warm on the hot stone. At the end of the meal, the dessert menu was presented to us inside a smoke-filled glass dome.

Pretty darn good. We just got into down, checked into our place, and couldnt wait to take our uber to the Char. We had heard good things about this new spot in town and had high hopes. The entry was inviting as we arrived. A guy was playing some acoustic guitar at the entrance. After a short wait we got our table in their beautiful large room. Out attentive server was on top of things and had our order out pronto. I had gotten a few small dishes, starting with a flight of salsas. That was fun. Then the green chili stew and mushroom tostadas came out. Both were fantastic. The beverages were very good. And overall we had a nice time. It's already one of the best spots in town.

Awesome meal at Char in Albuquerque. Restaurant was attached to our hotel so we had to try it based on reviews and recommendations. The food and service were great! I had a Branzino which was exactly what I was craving. My wife and daughter enjoyed their respective meals as well. Would recommend this place to others

It was really great overall but I think the steaks were a little lacking for some reason! I think it has something to do with quality of the steak and the seasoning too.

This is a great little restaurant inside a hotel near the convention center and Oldtown Albuquerque. The restaurant was beautifully designed and ample seating and a small bar area. I ordered the grilled romaine salad with a carne asada add on. The wilted style salad was fresh and had some type of nuts included. I also had a great local wheat beer from Santa Fe. The bartender was the host and server as it looks like they were short handed. Overall, I would return for this great place just off the main drag in downtown.

My son and I were in ABQ a week or so ago and a former colleague of mine who lives there recommended we try Char. It was last minute and we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to grab two seats at the bar. He is over 21 but since he had a vertical license they couldn't serve him alcohol, which I thought was strange. It didn't matter because he doesn't typically drink. They did serve me as I guess I did look over 21. ;-) The food was great and the bartender was very helpful in her food & drink recs. We tried 3 (Hatch Green, Chimayo Red, and Big Jim Red) different salsas (my favorite was the Chimayo Red), a tamale, and I had a yummy cocktail, but I forgot the name. I think it had mezcal in it. We weren't that hungry and since we were staying at a hotel we didn't want to order a bunch of food. If I'm back in ABQ again, I look forward to potentially going here again and trying a few more items!

I've been meaning to try out Char, and last night I finally got the chance! We were searching for a late night (8:45pm) dinner spot to enjoy that also had vegan options and came to Char! We got guacamole first, which was soooo bomb. It was sprinkled with pepitas and had pickled onion in it, along with extremely fresh avocados. The salsa was good too, very flavorful and light. I had the carne asada tacos which were fairly small for the price ($20), but tasty! Our server was super nice and attentive and all of the food came out quickly. I will def be back to try their brunch!

We came here for brunch to celebrate Mom's birthday. I wanted something different than her usual. I looked at their menu and decided this was the place. My brother and sister in law said they had been here before and enjoyed the food. It's a twist on your typical New Mexican Fare. It's located inside Hotel Andaluz. I ordered the green chili cheese biscuits & gravy. Biscuits & gravy is one of my favorite breakfast dishes so I wanted to check out their version. It was tasty. I believe the sausage gravy was atop fried eggs instead of a biscuit. The green chili was tasty, but not hot which I enjoyed. Mom had the enchiladas. She said she enjoyed the meal. It came with potatoes. My brother had their smash burger. That seems to be his regular. He asked for mayonnaise, but otherwise he ate it and seemed to enjoy it. I don't recall what my nieces or my sister in law had, but everybody seemed content with their meals. We also had the mimosa flight. Four mimosas flavored: prickly pear, sandia, mango, and grandilla. They came in the small flight size glasses and were cute. It's a cute place. I'd come back again.

We had an amazing dinner on our last night in New Mexico. The restaurant is as beautiful as the service. Our server, Antonio, is well-versed in the food and how it's cooked. He walked us through their menu which I think is smart and efficient so customers will have a good idea of what to order. What I also admired is their cocktail menu, which includes illustrations of each cocktail and its ingredients, which I found helpful! The presentation of the food is amazing although I also believe that their food could be better which is why I am giving it a 4/5. Overall, I recommend this place. If you want to try something intimate for a special occasion, then you should give this place a try!

This charming little bistro near the south end of Old Town is elegant, welcoming, and truly a hidden gem. Having convenient on-site parking was a nice bonus, and we were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. Our server, Christopher, made the evening even more memorable. He was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He also took the time to recommend several local restaurants and places to visit, which we really appreciated. We started with the mussels, and they were outstanding--fresh, tender, and served in a rich, spicy butter broth with perfectly toasted crusty bread for dipping. My cedar plank salmon was cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and paired with a delicious chorizo risotto. My husband ordered the filet mignon, and after trying a bite, I can understand why he said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. The mushroom risotto and seasonal vegetables were the perfect complement, and the fresh salad with homemade dressing was a great start to the meal. To top off the evening, the staff surprised me with a three-flavor sherbet dessert complete with a birthday candle and a thoughtful personalized birthday card. It was such a sweet touch that made me feel truly celebrated. We couldn't leave without trying the German chocolate cake, and it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable dinner. Everything from the food to the service exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu the next time we're in town.

Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

In a rare turn of events, both kids got the same thing, the Korean chicken bites with the sauce on the side, which was a great decision bc it did have a kick to it. The chicken itself was a bit dry. Both adults also got the pork belly flatbread. I found it a bit unbalanced with too much sauce and not enough other toppings, and the base wasn't as crispy as I prefer. Speaking of crispy, we opted for the appetizer brussel sprouts, and they were a bit chewy and on the not so super crispy side. Drinks are dive bar classics Cape Cod on a menu, Sutter Home and Cavit. LIIT, lmeon drop, tequila sunrise, what are we 12 now. I actually like a bohemia, shiner, guiness (not on tap) with my dinner. Their early week special is a 14oz boneless strip which is beefy and juicy, don't over cook this as it will toughen up. Their late week prime rib is thick, tender and wall to wall pink. They do have horseradish if you ask. Their ribeyes are on the smaller side, but very good quality. They have their own butcher and not a chef who does the butchery. The baked potat is generous sized and well accompanied. Prices are decent, quality is good and portions are excellent. Feels more midwest than southwest in vibe, but the Greek immigrant influence is interesting as I'm curious how Bakalava and dolmas and a shish kabob might taste. The Ham & cheese and grilled cheese just seem out of place, but not more than seeing Milk on the menu.....with sizes offered. My ideal meal here is the late week speciall prime rib, with fried shimp and chopped green chilis. Fried mozzarella sticks and a shrimp cocktail to start. They let you order cold center which is how I like my porterhouse and ribeyes. The salads don't come with tomatoes, but their burgers do, weird. After several locals recommended Antiquity, we quickly learned why reservations are so hard to come by. We couldn't secure a table on our actual anniversary, but managed to get one a couple of nights later, and it was well worth the wait. From the outside, Antiquity is understated. Step inside, however, and you're immediately welcomed into a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Old Town Albuquerque. Owner Steve, who has been running the restaurant for nearly three decades, greeted us personally. His passion for hospitality was evident from the moment we arrived. While we waited briefly for our table, he took time to learn about us, ask what types of food we enjoy, and offer thoughtful menu recommendations. The restaurant itself is charming and authentic, with an old-world steakhouse feel that perfectly complements the historic New Mexico setting. Many of the tables and booths are arranged to create private, intimate dining spaces, making it an ideal choice for special occasions. We were touched when Steve seated us at what he called the "anniversary table," complete with a small scattering of heart confetti, despite our celebration having technically passed. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. Rather than relying on a single server, the entire staff worked seamlessly together. Water glasses were never less than half full, empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests had a memorable experience. Even the kitchen staff engaged warmly with diners, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, it exceeded every expectation. We started with oysters on the half shell, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I upgraded to the special salad, a beautiful combination of greens, apples, strawberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, bacon, and a creamy mini brie, all brought together with a delicious pear vinaigrette. For our entrée, we chose the Châteaubriand for two. It was expertly prepared, carved tableside, and cooked perfectly. Every recommendation we received was spot-on, and the meal was so impressive that before leaving, I made another reservation for later that week just so I could return and try more of the menu before our trip ended. Antiquity offers beer and wine rather than a full bar, which was perfectly fine for us and fit the restaurant's classic, understated character. This is not an inexpensive dinner, nor should it be. What you're paying for is exceptional food, genuine hospitality, flawless service, and an atmosphere that is increasingly difficult to find. Antiquity doesn't simply serve dinner, it creates an experience. If you're visiting Albuquerque and looking for a memorable meal, especially for a special occasion, this restaurant deserves a spot at the very top of your list.

Arrived a few minutes early for our celebratory reservation and were seated right away in a quiet, private book surrounded by art and dim lighting. For starters, my gumbo was good, and his salad looked as good as it tasted. For entrees, husband got sucked in by the specials and ordered the schnitzel, which (to quote Shania) didn't impress me much. To clarify, there was nothing wrong with it, but I've had a lot of schnitzel, and it just failed to stand out. I kept to the classics with a filet mignon. To my surprise, it left the same impression. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with it - cooked well, quality cut, etc. - but I've had more memorable steaks at High Noon Saloon. *shrug* Highlight: The servers were exceptional. Lowlight: The sconce / light fixture over our table was in need of a dusting. Overall: A lovely evening to toast my guy's significant professional achievement. Would recommend if you find yourself stuck in the rut of bad service when dining out. Antiquity's dinner service will remind you how a night on the town is supposed to feel!

She also seemed very distracted and did not have good recall when we were putting in our orders. This also happened the first time we came to eat at social house a year ago, but it felt more pronounced this time. And the restaurant was not full. Probably a third full of patrons? We were seated at 6:45 and our food did not arrive until 830. Quite the wait if you ask me. Finally, the kitchen was having some sort of smoke issue. If you've never been in an establishment where the grease smell and smoke is visibly accumulating in the air, you know it's quite distracting from a dining experience. It was so smoky inside. I actually caught myself blinking my eyes to see if it was just my vision being blurry or if it was the room. Our food was fine, the pork belly was a standout. Otherwise, I'm not sure I need to come here again. I wish that they would get a better handle on service timing, because that seems to be an ongoing issue.

Fun fact--Season 1, Episode 1 of the series "Pluribus" was filmed here, and stars like Bryan Cranston and Johnny Depp have been known to dine at this spot. Now, Vernon's isn't for everyone--this is an experience to be savored, with the service and ambiance deserving of proper appreciation and tipping. But if you're ready for an unforgettable evening, it's absolutely worth it.

May not be a fair review because I keep getting the same thing when I come here: the steak (with…read morethe mashed potatoes and greens, last time asparagus), and of course one of the desserts. The meat has been consistently tender and juicy although I tend toward something close to medium or medium well, and absolutely delicious. I don't generally eat a lot of steak, and Seasons 52 is actually the only place I've had one in the few years since my first one there. I've been there with groups of people, all of whom enjoyed their meals and drinks. Service has been consistently excellent, and the environment (and parking) have been lovely. Note: Today's Yelp email was about places to get a great steak, which inspired this review. Highly recommend, with thanks.

I moved from my chair at the end of the table to the end of the "booth" which helped some. Our party of 5 ordered appetizers, sides, mains, drinks & desserts and everyone liked their food EXCEPT the truffled risotto. It was too salty for me (though not everyone) but it was unanimously agreed that the rice was not done. Hard rice in a risotto is unacceptable. I ordered the Brick-Oven Roasted Chilean Sea Bass and I liked it. I love the calorie counts but some of them seemed hard to believe (like the gnocchi).

It's in a historic area but the inside is chic, modern, and lively. Bold paint colors, unique bar and table sets, and they even have chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The only caveat is that it is LOUD. Between the noise of eating, talking, and the music, it is difficult to hear each other. The service was excellent. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout-out. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions for drinks, appetizers and main dishes. He also, was friendly and funny, and took care of us without hovering but was somehow always there when we needed something. The food was excellent, with large portions, great flavors, clean ingredients and fresh new takes on a lot of dishes. I had the Sourdough Gnocchi with onions, brocolini, and added salmon. It was truly amazing! They had a blackberry shrub, which is non-alcoholic, that I was able to add alcohol to and it was delicious! We also had the calamari for an appetizer and it was beautifully done, perfectly cooked, with light breading, and excellent sauces to dip it in. If you haven't been, I would highly recomend you check it out!
