Wow, was a beautifully cute and delicious cafe and bakery. My husband and I wanted to try something new and refreshing and Chant'el Cafe was the perfect spot. We ordered two different chocolate pastries (Mozart Cake and the Hazelnut Cake) with peppermint tea. Absolutely divine treats and the peppermint tea hit the spot. The atmosphere and very instagram photo worthy scenes made this very place very fun! I would totally come back and try some of their savory food options! I can't wait to come back. I also recommend this place to family and friends. Customer service was great, the restrooms are so modern and the staff are extremely friendly. read more

it came to this café from Roseville and boy was it worth the drive all their pastries were incredible. They carried the viral pastries from TikTok that were insanely amazing the pistachio, especially with incredible. It must be Russian or Ukrainian owned because their breakfast is Russian and Ukrainian based tried something new and it was incredible. That coffee is delicious. And the service is amazing. They even accommodated and made my daughter boiled eggs, even though it's not something they offer on their menu I love this place. The only problem is it's not close enough to me otherwise, I would be here every day. read more

I was planning to go to this place for a while now, 40 minutes drive is a bit much for me, but I finally decided to go because I rlly wanted to. When my boyfriend and I came in we were welcomed and the atmosphere was amazing, I loved the customer service and presentation of the menu and food. 10 out of 10 for food, customer service, presentation, and the interior. Those 40 minutes of driving were definitely worth it, I'll definitely will come back there with my friends. read more

If you're ever in the area and looking for something different I would definitely recommend coming here. Lady at the register was very friendly and and suggested these two drinks. Lovely European/Ukrainian bakery, restaurant and cafe'. Had brunch here to celebrate my birthday as I have never been here before. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff who patiently explained the menu and recommended popular dishes. I ordered the bagel with lox, syrnicki - a curds pancake - and the honey cake. Everything was wonderful! I also enjoyed the beautiful floral decor which provided colorful backdrops for photo ops. We will definitely come back. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so Tuesday morning was a nice, quiet time to visit. The pride in their offerings and freshness of the ingredients, combined with the "made with love" coffee, tea and yummy food make Chant'el Cafe a new go to place for my family. My parents were visiting so we decided to check out the cafe since we have heard great things about it. Right when you walk in, the ambience is very inviting. The staff were very helpful in navigating the menu--we decided to order a few things to share. The espresso drinks and the syrniki were our favorite! They are homemade and brought back memories of visiting my grandmother in Ukraine. The cakes were also yummy--the raspberry was our favorite. Beautiful entourage BUT service was not up to par. Arrived around 5:20 or so ( at least 30 mins before closing) and was asked to order to go. Mind you, people still eating inside, even a party in the back of the cafe... My son wanted to order a waffle and the lady said not available as it would take too long to make... a waffle? ?? We got coffee and I admit, it was really tasty, hats off to the barista guy, the pastries however were meh. I asked for a raspberry chocolate pie but when I opened my to go container, it was strawberry. And vanilla ..:Not a huge deal, just a bit misleading. The prices were steep for the quality of the pastries we tried, in my opinion. Overall, expected better of this place and wished staff was a bit more warm and welcoming. read more

Oh no. So sad, this place had potential. We arrived just after 11am and waited in line to order. The bakery case has about six items in it. They offer a menu of croissants, avocado toast, two salads, oatmeal (from those cups), quiche, and that's about all. At the register we were informed of no croissants. Not just out of one kind, no croissants. Also no quiche. Offered the breakfast croissant but on bread. Gave it a whirl along with an iced raspberry pom tea. Friend asked what was on the avocado toast and went with that. Upon arrival it has some crispy somethings on top that were not disclosed about. Iced tea arrived not cold with five already melted ice cubes. Strike. My sandwich arrived.... open faced, bland, bread not toasted. $11 for mealy bread and some ham egg and cheese. When the woman delivered our other dish I asked if they had hot sauce and the woman turned back around and went inside. Another staff came out and said "She doesn't speak english, did someone have a question?" "Oh! Do you have hot sauce or Tabasco!" "No... we have ketchup?" You will surely fail with savory breakfast items and no hot sauce on hand. Sad. I ate the sandwich and was sad. Flavorless, mushy, uninteresting. The decor is cute, albeit cheap and girly. That's an experience some love, that's fine. I come for the food and customer service. Both were a huge miss today. read more

Tipping shouldn't be automatic. It should reflect the service you receive. It's also a bit overpriced. Two burritos and two black coffees came to about $50 after a 15% tip, which feels excessive. I won't tip next time unless I actually receive good customer service, assuming I decide to come back. Without the quality of the food, this rating would have been even lower because of the price and the service I experienced this morning. If I had been helped by someone with a friendlier attitude, it would have made a big difference. With better customer service, I'd say the current 3.8-star overall rating is fair.

First time visiting Chantel Café, and honestly, I was impressed from the moment I walked in. Decided to stop by for some coffee today and unknowingly this place popped up. I usually stop by Starbucks and Dutchbros but decided to give this place a try. Let me just tell you. The COFFEE was out of this world! Best coffee I have ever had! Every sip was like a warm hug, the perfect balance of sweetness, the strong flavor of coffee, and the temperature of the drink were all just immaculate! I also had one of their chocolate croissants to go with my drink and you cannot go wrong with that! For sure my to go to spot from now on within the area!! Hands down one of my favorite cafes in Folsom! What makes the cafe even more special is the homey atmosphere. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into everything they put out. Sometimes the owner or cook will personally come up to you to deliver your meal! It doesn't get more personal than that. They love their customers and their products a lot. My personal favorite is still the chocolate tart and white mocha. You need to try it! But it's honestly hard to choose favorites here. I highly recommend giving Chantel a try! read more

I'm not sure what Dave D. was talking about but the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The cashier was great and answered any questions we had. The barista made our drinks perfectly and the Pink Raspberry Latte was phenomenal. You have to try it. Our food tasted amazing and I will definitely be back for more. The decorations, while slightly pink for my taste, are modern and contribute to the atmosphere. You can tell a lot of time and thought went into this place. I'd give more stars if i could. read more

Extremely unprofessional business. Drove 45 mins to check it out with my family. We have a service dog. You're not allowed to reject a service dog from entering they are not a pet they are a working dog. We have her for medical reasons. They wouldn't allow her in. This is ILLEGAL. Shame on you. It wasn't busy, and there were available waitstaff who never acknowledged me. After sitting there for 15 minutes without anyone coming over, I finally walked out. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and came back a second time, thinking perhaps they had simply been understaffed. The service was very slow, although the food was good. This morning, after visiting the farmers market, we stopped by again. This is a café inside a bookstore within a shopping center, so I was surprised by how restrictive the experience was. We had brought The Melt for my 11-year-old daughter because she is a very picky eater. We were holding the bag when we were seated, and I did not see any signs indicating that outside food was prohibited. If that was the policy, I would have expected someone to tell us before seating us. Instead, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. After taking our order and collecting the menus, the waitress addressed my daughter directly--not the parents--and told her that she couldn't eat her food inside and would need to go eat it outside on the far patio. I asked if we could simply be served outside, at which point she said she would "make an exception" and let us stay. I have no problem following a restaurant's rules, but the way this was handled was extremely disappointing. If outside food is not allowed, customers should be informed when they arrive or before they are seated--not after they have already waited 15 minutes. More importantly, I found it inappropriate that the waitress addressed this issue directly with my 11-year-old and told her she would need to eat outside, rather than speaking to the parents. The implication that my child should go eat her meal by herself away from us was particularly upsetting. At this point, it wasn't really about the food or even the outside-food policy. It was the repeated pattern of poor service, lack of communication, and the way this situation was handled. We ultimately decided to leave, despite the offer to make an exception. After three attempts, I can't justify giving this establishment my business again. The food may be good, but good food isn't enough when the service and customer experience are consistently this disappointing.
