Don't eat there ever!! YUKKK! What a disappointment! 13.95 a plate with out beverage and a bad taste in my stomach. They offer a variety of vegetables and meat items for the grill cook to prepare for you. Let me say, variety is the only thing they have going for them. Very little flavor as the grill cooks do not seem to know what they are doing, watch them as they water down, the sauces you carefully prepare. Not only does it water down the flavor but everything tastes boiled when they are finished. The noodles are of the cheap variety, and taste like they sat in lots of water all day long. There was one bright spot, the bald waiter, and I don't mean his shiny head. He was sweet and attended to us and I felt sorry for him since he must know how bad the food is. Tried to play it off as if everything was all good. He made the meal and I left him a hearty tip. He is better than that place and I hope he realizes it soon. I feel a little bit sad for those who have reviewed this place with high marks. I can't help but think that they don't get out much. I know it would seem that since you pull the ingredients together the success of the meal falls on you. This is not true. First, a cook starts with quality ingredients, the temperature of the grill would be set according to what you are preparing, not some general temperature, and you wouldn't water everything down. If you have a budget of 13. to 15 dollars a person, you will be much more satisfied at the Bento box, in the same parking lot. read more

My husband and I tried stopping in for lunch with our daughter. The hostess offered us a table, but I requested a booth. She gave me a confused look and I explained our 2-year will not sit in a chair nor high chair. The hostess told me again that she doesn't have a booth available as I see a few booths that haven't been cleaned with a busser's bucket sitting atop one, and 3 open tables without drinks or meal tickets. Went there for my son's birthday. Food is mediocre at best. Not much flavor even when loading up on garlic, oils etc. Uninspired low paid cooks (tip jars at cooking station?) We came as couples and paid separately, yet rude host charged us a gratuity for being a party of 10. (His job consisted of seating us, bringing water and soda, pointing to the buffet) Tipping is not to be taken as granted. It is given for exceptional service, which we did not get. Being guilted into leaving a tip for cooking your food? I'm not a cheapskate. I leave generous tips when deserved. And I have tipped cooks for an exceptional meal. But stir fry? Honestly I really like this place a lot. I've been coming here ever since they opened up in gresham. I use to have to go to the 1 22nd location and the food is so tasty. Can't go wrong because all the ingredients are fresh and raw when you get them and then they cook them for you. I come here at least 3 times a month. They don't put seafood out until after 3. Of course we got there at 130. Would have liked shrimp better than the dried up chicken and beef slivers they had out. I've been to this restaurant many times before the food's pretty good service is alright as well but closing at 3 p.m. on Sunday is bit of a bummer especially considering that they stay open until 9 on every other day maybe something they should change I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to have their food cooked in front of them but don't come on Sunday if you want to have dinner read more

This location is a little bit out of our way to travel but I think it is worth the time it takes. Its not nearly as packed as other locations especially the one 122nd. They also seem to use more of the liquids from my bowls more and use less of the water to cook my food. I also enjoy the soup here more then the other location. I don't know if they use the same recipe or not. The soup here is not as sweet and more sour which I really enjoy. read more

My last two visits to the Gresham Mongolian Grill have been bad. Both times my food was burned. I couldn't speak up the first time because I was with guests and let it go. On Saturday, August 5th, I did show the staff how bad it was as I pulled out all the burnt food. I will not go there again. read more

5 stars for it just being Chang's and always good even when not cooked the way you ask. 3 stars for the cooks - asked for crispy, kepted it on the grill forever and not a single noodle was crispy. Though it was still really good, the next time i went up I had to tell them how to make a plate actually crispy. I was a lead cook/supervisor their for 5 years so yes I knew what i was doing ;) hopefully it helped them. Chang's has always and will always be my favorite place. I went for my birthday with my mom because you eat free for your birthday and my friend recommended it to me. The first time through the buffet was very very slow and towards the end where all the sauces part is was a mess of oil that made the floor slick and the whole counter was coated. Despite the slowness and mess, the food was very good and the cooks spinning your plate and flipping their utensils was very entertaining. The food since I picked it myself was very good. I had lamb for the first time! I'll probably come back next year for my birthday! read more

We went out to Chang's tonight at about 6:45pm. The place was packed. They had to "find" us a table. The food was great, as it always is. It was cooked to perfection. The ingredients were well stocked. As things were starting to show the bottom of the pan, they were being replaced. Our waitress was very attending. We didn't have to wait for anything. The kids and I have made a habit of coming here after hikes to add back any calories we may have burned off. We love it and it's an easy way to get the kids eating lots of vegetables. It's been a long time since I was treated so rudely. No "Please wait to be seated" sign so we went looking for a table. After getting all settled into two tables one that seats 8 and another next to it that seats 4. Then a staff member came up to us and told us that she had to seat us. As she took me back to the register the woman behind the counter said she could seat a party that size. I informed her of the two tables we found, she rudely told me they can't seat us separately. I asked how long it would take to get a table ready a she said rudely again that they could not serve a party that big. So we left. read more

I am always impressed with the two day-time cooks. They always remember me and try to impress customers with cool moves and tricks. I always ask to get my food crispy and they usually check in with me to see if I'd like it cooked longer or less. The servers are great too! We used to go here all the time - but the last time we tried we were refused entry!!! They closed at 3 to open again at 5 and we showed up at 2:30. We were told there was already a "last call" and we couldn't eat there. Contrary to my initial reaction's inclination we came back 2 weeks later and tried to eat there again. They let us in! Wonderful! A restaurant that let's people eat there while they're open - who knew?! Sarcasm aside - once we ate, it was nowhere near what it used to be. The good wasn't bad - but I REALLY liked the rice paper before. It was super dried out and cracking this time. Not the fun chewy texture that I remember. All in all, it wasn't bad - but I'm definitely not as much of a fan as I used to be. It doesn't help that they refuse to serve you during open business hours. read more

Called Thursday to see what time they close I was told 9pm, but tomorrow (Friday) at 10 pm and last call is at 9:45pm. On Friday I was told "we don't seat after 9:15 which is also last call because we close at 9:30! I had my whole family heading there to meet at 9pm because I work and that would've given us an hour to eat! This place closes whenever they feel like it. If they've had a long day they alter their hours. Don't be fooled by posted or even direct conversation with restaurant hours. It Varys day by day! Which is horrible customer service. We we're almost to the restaurant coming from government camp. This restaurant has no concern for their customers or time. I don't understand why their corporate office hasn't done anything about the management/ staff at this location. The reviews are mostly bad and I will be reporting to the BBB! Their business practices holds no regard for the customers! If people stopped eating there they'd have to close down. They obviously don't care! We won't be eating at this restaurant again. It's a buffet! All you can eat, and I eat a lot. I like how they grill where you can see it. That's entertainment, good stuff. I usually spend less than 10 bucks and go home with a full belly! We ate at the Gresham Mongolian Grill today, Sunday at 2:15. Wish we had gone somewhere else. Food was burnt black and the place was a disaster. The restaurant needs a good cleaning. Food was all over the floor and on the counters. The bowls were very dirty, had to pick through them to get a clean bowl. The interaction with the chef was very awkard. Cook spends too much time in between turning the food. There was only one cook, instead of two that we had before. The food was left on the grill too long so we received burnt food. If they are trying to cut back then this is why the food was not done correctly. We were not expecting burnt food for the price that we spent. Also we missed the green noodles that are no longer there. We won't be going back there until the Manager has a wait staff that cleans the Restaurant and doesn't burn the food. read more

Those who've given this place one star don't seem to grasp the concept of the Mongolian grill. If it doesn't taste good that's on you, you select all the ingredients! It's not Benihana and they don't do fancy tricks. The grill chars the food, it doesn't burn it. The offerings are fresh and varied, there's something for everyone. Even the most picky eaters will get full here. You never go home hungry or bloated. The price I'd fair for the variety of food you get. The servers always seem to be happy. It may have just been a bad day, but the food was burnt, the cook even had to apologise to other customers because he was letting a friend distract him and was chatting rather than focusing on cooking. My wife also has naturally weak lungs and the people who were seated beside her were smoking inside the restaurant and were never asked to leave. This caused my wife to start to feel sick and when it was time to leave we asked for boxes for the leftover food because my wife lost her appetite from the smoke and they wanted to charge $5 for a Togo box.
