This place is amazing. I almost didn't even write a review because everything had been said in previous reviews! This is a typical mom-and-pop Chinese food place. I always get General Tso's Chicken. This is not my favorite place to get it, but it is a close second. My favorite place has more breading on their chicken, which I appreciate. The sauce is spicy, exactly what I expect. This is a great place to go on a date or with a close group of friends. It didn't look like the could accommodate a large ground, which is why I gave 4 stars. Overall, you won't be disappointed here. This is a hidden gem that is definitely worth checking out! The place is small but it is clean, the service is outstanding and the food is top-notch! This little hole in the wall is all about the Chinese food - which is outstanding. Don't go there for ambience or experience. That's not the point of this place. Chang's is an old, clean, well established and much loved restaurant in Tomball, Texas. We have eaten at Chang's almost weekly, sometimes a couple times a week, for the past 15 + years. It changed ownership about 10 years ago but the quality and service have always remained excellent! I have never had reason to complain nor have I ever been dissatisfied with the food or service. The young couple who now run the place, wait your tables and serve your food are the most genuine, kind and engaging people you would ever hope to meet. They are always ready to greet you with a smile and do their best to make your experience a pleasure without constantly bugging you as many other eateries do. You rarely ever have to ask of a refill of your tea or water because they are always attentive and refill your drink before you even ask. You are not treated as just a customer, you are treated as a friend, someone they are happy to see and serve. The prices are more than reasonable, you get more food than what you would expect for the price you pay and when ordering off the lunch menu on the back page , your meal includes your main dish, soup and an egg roll. Your meal is always hot, fresh and made to order. Even my picky brother in law's order was done perfectly and exactly as he wished. I do not understand the negative reviews nor how anyone sitting in the parking lot cannot see Chang's. The place is located in the strip mall on the corner of 2920 and Tomball Prkwy, where the movie theater and Goodwill are located, but if you drive through the parking lot you will see it. It is Clearly signed above their establishment. "Chang's Gourmet" As for being treated badly, I have never seen this couple treat anyone with disrespect or anger. I understand there is a language barrier and sometime accents can seem as though a person is cross or even angry but I have personally Never witnessed either one of this couple be ugly with anyone. Even when someone was clearly making fun of their accents. Truly these are sweet people, though, as with anyone else on this page, I imagine they too have their limits when it comes to patience and turning the other cheek. so take the negative comments with a grain of salt. Anyway, before you judge Chang's by the negative reviews, please go there, have lunch and see for yourself what type of place it is, the freshness and great taste of their food and just how well you are treated. Until yesterday, I had ALWAYS had great service and awesome food. I ordered for us to have it delivered at work. They told me 40 minutes. That was ok. I called in 45 minutes and was told it would be soon - like 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, I called again. They were a little perturbed at my phone call. I told them that the delivery driver was still not here with our food. They rudely said it would be here soon and that the driver had several deliveries in our area. I called AGAIN. They very rudely told me that I had just called 2 minutes ago. It had been more like 5 minutes. I told them to just cancel my order. We only get a half hour for lunch. The 40 minutes would have been fine. It was OVER AN HOUR before our food got here. As I was about to run out and get us some lunch, the driver pulled up. All she could say was that she was sorry and that they had gotten busy. The food was piping hot (as usual) and yummy as usual. I was just appalled at the way I was spoken to. I was not rude just persistent. Limited time for lunch for all of us makes us anxious when we order delivery. read more

I ordered the Hunan Shrimp with steamed rice 2 egg rolls and a small hot and sour soup. the order arrived without the steamed rice. when i i called and told them about the missing rice the person that answered the phone was very rude. said they would give me a steamed rice at a later time and hung up. so i called back to find out what later meant i was told they were very busy and i probably would not get my rice., I gave the delivery driver a $5 dollar tip. guess that's what i get for tipping before checking my order. they made sure i order pizza the next time i order in read more

this place may have good prices but there delivery service and att. stink. It took me one hour and 40 min for luke warm food to show up at my door and I only live 10 min from them. every time I called it will be about 15 more min. I did this 3 times with them. 1HOUR and 40 min. The last time I call about my food , the gentleman said if it is not there in 10 more min it would be free, not only was it not here in 10min but the gentleman at the rest. said he would only gives me 20 percent off. 20 percent off luke warm food and rude people on the phone. I refused the food and even the driver couldn't be honest with me about it being luke warm and not hot. When i first tried this place, I liked it. Never had issues when placing order over phone. But the last two times the men have been very rude and seem to be impatient when you are ordering. First time I ordered on phone they just hung up, I called a different time to see if they delivered I gave them my area and they said too far and hung up. The last time I went in and ordered the guy was rude and seem to have better things to be doing than taking my order. I will not be going back to this place again. Three strikes and I am done.
