This place gets a SOLID 4 stars and here's why: - it is conveniently located just a few steps from the ditmars blvd train stop on the n/w train - their pizza slices are a good size and their ingredients are fresh - don't order EXTRA cheese on your pizza because clearly it's not extra but the pepperoni was more than enough even though I didn't need it to be - the layout is nice BUT the tables are a little too close together for my liking ... we had a situation yesterday; which left a bad taste in my mouth - the service was quick - they are opened until I believe 2AM while other local pizzerias close at 9PM - the beef patties were also good and the extra cheese on them was the icing on the cake - the garlic knots were garlicky and oily; just how I like them - they had a good beverage selection; something for everyone I would definitely come back for a quick slice on the go! And I would also check out their other location on Broadway. See you soon Champion Pizza!

I've been to their other location on Broadway. I'm not sure why but I prefer this smaller version on 31street it's way better. It feels like a mom and pop pizzeria. I love all the memorabilia that's on the walls. The best spot to sit on a nice day is by the entrance. You can look outside and see a lovely tree (see my photos). The service was exceptional. I appreciated that the lady working the counter opened my drink. You can't go wrong with Mexican cola simply because there's none of that high fructose corn syrup junk in it. I'm a little boring because I got a white slice. My guest was having a pepperoni roll. We were given this delicious pasta sauce for dipping. The sauce was a delicious sweetness, I almost wanted to tell them to fill some sauce in a jar for me to take home. I'd definitely recommend this place to other yelpers. I appreciate how clean the location was as well. I didn't see a bathroom, but this place is more grab and go because it doesn't have as many seats as the other location. 5 stars.

Love the variety of pizza. The BBQ chicken slice was perfection. Garlic knots are some of the best I've ever had!

A little greasy but still good. Lots of places to sit and very close to the subway exit.

Being that Astoria lacks pizza, and the demand is always high, it was a great watching The Champion Pizzeria being built on 31st last year. Now, it's a solid go-to! Great slices, squares and all. Service is always friendly and fast. The Ditmars area need it.

Love this pizza joint in Astoria, crust is on 10, and they don't hold back with the toppings. Pizza man Kaan is awesome, always a warm welcome into the establishment.

Omg, Soooooooo happy that this pizzeria opened up over here !!! My fellow a Yelpers know that I never throw out a 5 star rating with just one visit however me being a foodie & chef by trade can definitely tell you this pizzeria is here to stay ... A must Try & Yes don't forget to thank me for this intro !!! Pulled up with my crew just this Saturday 6/23/23 around 7pm and saw this brand new pizza joint so it went like this; Lil shop but perfectly set up for this avenue with all the High Foot traffic; seating for 14 all two tops; they gave a Great Wall photo Opp, just great vibes for a pizzeria ... I was greeted by this young man name Emir who was very polite and gladly walked me through all their pizza slice varieties, over 21 different pizza slices / pies fresh out of the oven & ready to gooo. As y'all know I have not been eating out as much because I'm still on my mission of Health & Weight loss down 130 lbs & putting on muscle ... However I do have cheat days and this slice was calling out to me !!! Their Salad Slice with mixed Veggies & Olives with feta was insane !!! 1st off; their crust is insane off the chain, as thin as it is it still has that soft chew that we all love their texture & the chew is just insane; them all my veggies, olives & feta the freshest ingredients high quality ingredients for Shaw !!! As per Emir they just opened up a week ago So Yes I Greg D the one & only added them to Yelp and I'm so impressed with this place especially that is a franchise owned by a Turkish guy !! Like wow !! Ya would swear my Nana Marion a real Sicilian Cook was in that kitchen; trust me I wanted to try their Sausage & Pepperoni slice it was loaded to the max just look at all my pictures; I did try their marinara sauce Emir was nice enough to let me tray their sauce on the side excellent I don't care what you put it on the sauce is five stars !!! All their pizza slices are just $ 5.00 which is definitely a good price just look how they are loaded ... Definitely coming back at least ounce a week to treat myself and definitely gonna let all my co-Worker's, family & friends know about this place Thanks, Emir it was awesome to meet you & look forward to many more visits .. This pizzeria does not need luck their pizza will speak for itself .. ... Thanks, Greg D & Crew

I LOVEEEE their chipotle chicken pizza!! My favorite pizza of all time . I was getting it every week almost when I first moved here and had to stop lol. The truffle mushroom pizza is also good. Service is great, the wait is never long. If I eat there, it's probably 2-3am and it's the perfect place to enjoy pizza on a post-outing. It's a chill spot.

Come grab a slice or two from Champion Pizza. Conveniently located in the heart of Ditmars underneath the N train station. Plethora of pizza to choose from + beverages. The truffle mushroom slice is fantastic!

Rooted in NYC with 7 pizzerias, Hakki Akdeniz, the owner and founder of Champion Pizza, customizes pizzas based on the neighborhood. Located just a walk down from the N train station in Astoria, my cousin and I came today to their Ditmars establishment for a quick bite while running an errand. The cozy interior with six tables has just the right amount of classy atmosphere, with stunning photos and articles on the wall about how great this business is. It offers 35 different styles of pizza, way beyond the number that most shops sell. We decided on a slice of the Margarita Pesto (homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, pesto sauce, olive oil, and fresh basil) and Bacon & Pineapple (homemade marinara sauce, bacon, pineapple, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and fresh parsley). The square slices were just absolutely amazing in crunch, flavor, and freshness, made with all natural organic ingredients. The price was favorable, and the staff was friendly. We can recommend this place.

This pizza was very tasty, probably one of the top 5 best pizza slices I've had! It is so freaking greasy though. I got pepperoni. The shop is this little cute open area with nice seating area. The service was incredible because I went twice one day and the guy gave me my pizza for free!

Better than the one on Broadway, but still not that great. At the time, I was hungry for a slice, and based on a FB recommendation, I tried Champion out. Initially, they looked like a better pizzeria with comfy seating and a low-key interior. I went straight up and ordered what I thought was a mac and cheese slice. I was hungry then and didn't give much thought to the squares or their weird menu of slices. Upon reflection, I should have gone elsewhere. One or two of the customers were quite creepy and tried to box my table in. Another thought I was someone else. As for the pizza, upon reflection, it did not have good quality ingredients, and though satisfying, Champion Pizza is not a place I would recommend

Haven't had any pizza like this since Pizza Palace on Bayard Street by Columbus Park closed. Easy to eat half a pie by oneself. Crispy, thin crust, perfect amount of sauce and oil (about 2 drips per plain slice, not drowning, but reminds you that this is true NYC pizza), lightly cheesed, but still has a good stringy mozzarella pull. For a similar, but slightly thicker (100% yum factor) NYC slice, it's Manos in Ridgewood. For, the thinnest and crispiest plain slice in NYC, Louie's is the standard bearer. Parked in front, ordered a whole pie, ran inside, threw down some cash, waited outside for the fresh pie to bake. 10 minutes later the owner (possibly Louie hisself) delivers the fresh pie to my car outside and actually thanks me. True Twilight Zone stuff. I scarf a fresh, hot slice straight from the carton before stowing the balance back to Long Island for additional reheat confirmation. With all the political nonsense ongoing, thank Goodness that a righteous, NYC plain slice is still alive, well and residing in un-hipster, un-gentrified, un-apologetically friendly-neighborhood Spiderman Elmhurst. "Best NYC style pizza" is a term that is minimized and bandied about every time some new $60, limited-run, kraft pizza from Japan is the current darling. We submit that this is not the case here. May Louie's be here after all the LES, deep dish, 3 Michelin star bakers and pizza itamae have exhausted their day in the limelight - and leases. $20 all-in (until the hipster masses beat a path here to make Louie's their pizza crusade ) Thank you Louie for giving us working class masses the best, true, unlimited, unpretentious, no-lines, no soup Nazi, no upsell, satisfyingly NYC pizza a $20 can still buy. PS: please don't renovate or move as your pizzeria is a time-capsule whose prime ingredient is sincerity.

Busy, active and definitely for the community given the notes, decorations. I always wanted to stop by here for a slice after watching the owner and father's heroic effort protecting an Asian lady who was being robbed in front of their store. Slice was solid at $3. OK looking undercarriage but limited floop. Only knock is bottom had too much flour remaining. Solid neighborhood spot. People were getting pasta dishes too. Ample seating. Friendly staff.

They had revamp the place and it looked nothing like my childhood but the taste was there (unless I put it on a pedestal). It's not your typical pizzeria. They specialize in 10" pan pizza with crispy crusts. They do not do slices... only whole pies. Food quality is still amazing! I remember as a child they had the paper wrapper that had coupons on it. My siblings and I would save all the paper coupons for free pie (collect 10 for 1 free pie). Not sure if they still do that. They used to also offer free balloons to all kids there. They had a huge helium tank and assorted color balloons that they would blow up on the spot for all kids. Very family-oriented/friendly local pizza spot. We order led my favorite pie: Onion & Pepper pie but added Pepperoni and garlic knots. It was soooo goood that I was super happy to come back for another taste. I hope the next visit won't be as long.

I only have changed my order maybe three times total over the years. It is one of the few restaurants myself and my family can all agree on. I wish parking was not an issue and it would be awesome if they had more locations spread out. I know that is a challenge for us, otherwise we would be ordering here every time I came home to visit. My absolute favorite pizza is the Indo-Pak. FYI, all the pizzas are individual sizes and measure about 12". The Indo-Pak has curry, garlic, onions, and jalapeños or cherry peppers-not sure which pepper but it gets hot after a couple of slices lol. Other favorites of mine are the garlic and just plain cheese. I usually finish most of my pie, with maybe a slice or two leftover. I am getting hungry while writing this because I miss it and it's that good. They have other items on the menu besides pizza but I have personally never ordered anything but pizza.
