I've only done one load of laundry on my own here (appreciated the large capacity washer for $3 + free drying. And had quarters, which is nice and straightforward). So this review is mainly for the wash and fold, which I've had done a bunch more and loooove! Super fast turnaround no matter what time of day i drop off, excellent customer service, very nice and clean clothes folded beautifully and sorted by type, at $1.25 lb= so helpful!! I have a shared w/d that broke so it saved me tons of time and aggravation with the laundry process and even though my washer and dryer are back in action- the $15 or so I spend is well worth it. I do wish the parking lot was a little bigger and once there were some kinda shady people hanging around, but those things are minor. It's clean and has great hours and I am happy to have found it. read more

Think about when you have large items, your laundry mounts up and you have other commitments, you're home from vacation and don't want to get back into the grind immediately, or maybe visitors who want their laundry done. Shout out to Champion Laundry Center 'Wash and Fold' service on Wells at Vassar, especially to Tracy! Had 2 king blankets and a mattress cover that I could not wash at home due to small dryer and the wet blankets would be too heavy for me to be able to use a regular laundromat (I have weight limitations). Dry cleaners was out as cost was over $90 (equal to the value of the items new) , plus I do not dry-clean anything due to the unhealthy, residual fumes (SO unhealthy). Champion charged far less than ONE blanket cost new. After checking Yelp reviews I settled on Champions. Took all 3 items in today (Saturday) and they were done in less than 3 hours. Perfectly cleaned. As for Tracy - I have rarely encountered, especially these days, a customer service person who so very genuinely enjoys her job. So refreshing!! She even took the items out to my car for me without my even suggesting it. Well done, and thank you! read more

This is a good place for doing laundry and having the kids with you if you have any. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is decently clean and rarely crowded. This place is taken care of well, if anything is not working, they will get it fixed by the next time we come in. Good variety of washer sizes and a good amount of dryers. They also have games for the kids to play. Vending machine available as well. Parking is the only thing they could have more of, but it's not bad. I pulled into this lot for about two seconds, and the owner was in his car leaving while I was in my car leaving and he started yelling at me and calling me a f*****g c**t, asking if I could read. He then blocked my car in and proceeded to verbally assault me, spitting all over the place. There was literally not a single other car in the lot. He fortunately left before I could finish calling law enforcement. He was very clearly not sober. We've actually come here before to wash a large comforter, but the inside was disgusting- we now for sure won't ever use it. If you want to support an unchecked drug or alcohol problem, by all means, use this laundry center. Not a safe person, therefore likely place, though. read more

Went here while on vacation. Our timeshare usually has laundry but it was closed this time around and I didn't want to spend my vacation time in the laundromat. Found them through Yelp and decided to give them a try. They only take cash, but they will text you the exact amount once your laundry is ready. I took our clothes twice during our stay and had two different people help, both very professional and had my laundry done the same day. Easy drop off and pick up. Highly recommend. read more

It's pretty great, they have a quick turn around time and they only charge $1 per pound (weight after dried) the women who work there are very helpful and friendly. The washers are a little high priced, but they're very large and the dryers are free and the large single load dryers are incredible! They dry large quantities of clothes in a short amount of time! I dropped it off between 10am-12noon on a Monday and it was ready for me before 6pm. I've been going to this laundromat for a year and a half, and it's still a-ok. The ladies that work there are super nice. They have a laundry service, too. I've never used it, but they seem to have satisfied regulars in that department. The cheapest washers are $2.25/load. They're top-load with no special fabric softener or bleach compartments, so bring your Downy ball(s)! They also have larger/fancier washers that are $3-4. Drying is free. Try to go during odd hours--mid-afternoon, dinner time, or later (last load is at 9). It's nice having four dryers to yourself. Now this place ain't fancy. They have a little TV in the corner, some old magazines, coloring books for the munchkins, and a few arcade games including the Simpsons and NeoGeo's Bust-A-Move (my favorites!). Usually I just watch my clothes tumble in the dryers and end up napping to the drone of the machines. read more

Called in the morning to see if they would do same day wash and fold and they said if I had four hours no problem. I dropped what ended up being 60 pounds of laundry around 2:00pm and made arrangements to be back at 7:00pm. I returned at about 6:58pm and they were not quite done but I needed to go and grab cash anyway since they do not take plastic. We got back in ten minutes or so and my boy had about five minutes to play on the cool old arcade games before everything was ready. This place had great yelp reviews, and I saw that I could -maybe- save a buck or two with their free dryer service so I stopped in. 1 package of detergent: $1 30 min wash time: $3 Dryer: Free Their prices sure beat the GSR's $2+ per item laundry charges. Hey, it's a laundromat. There seems to be enough parking and there's some nearby not he street as well. It's $3 a load, but you get a free dryer with that. The staff is friendly and responsive. As a bonus, some gal comes around selling tamales, and some dude was selling cologne out of his trunk in the parking lot. And there's some pinball and video games, as well as a bookshelf. Well, the bookshelf had only one book ("Tommyknockers" by Stephen King, but you get what you pay for. All in all, a solid laundo experience. read more

I came on Father's Day at 7:30pm with tons of cleaning towels. This place always has helpful people when it is open. Martina was the store attendant tonight and she was soooo good. She kept the place spotless and worked her rear end off! So polite and helpful. One of my washers quit and she jumped right on it and switched the load to other washers, took care of the cost and helped me get things taken care of. She stayed late while I finished. The place is a great deal. Martina deserves some special recognition from the owner.. she is customer orientated and looks at what is best for her business and her customers! read more

This place is close to my house and has great hours. They open at 6 on weekdays and 5 AM on weekends. I second the recommendation to go at off hours; if you go first thing, there is always someone who hasn't done laundry in a year and has decided to go at that time too. I have also used the laundry service and that is very convenient. It is priced by weight, and a very full basket and two comforters plus bed linens cost me about $20. I was also able to pay that with my debit card, which was convenient. They can also press your clothes. The ladies that work there are top notch and very friendly and helpful. They have pinball, a few other arcade games and a vending machine for sodas and snacks. Also, the bathroom is always exceptionally clean. read more

Used their wash & fold service. It's not the most convenient location but it's difficult to find laundromats that do laundry by the pound in Reno. The laundromat was very busy & crowded. Parking was a little challenging too. Dropped off 3 bags of clothes, towels and sheets. They washed, folded & hung the golf shirts. Everything was clean & folded very nicely. Closed, huh? Today (June 1st, 2010), I checked yelp for the phone number of Champion Laundry and found: "Champion Laundry Service -- Closed." So I found the yellow pages in my hotel room, found the number, called it, and lo and behold, they aren't closed at all. I told them about how yelp lists them as closed. It occurs to me that perhaps they didn't want to advertise on yelp (i.e. -- pay protection), so yelp smeared them. I have no way of knowing if this actually happened, but given yelp's recent track record, I wouldn't put it past them. Anyway, whatever the reason, the story of their demise has been grossly exaggerated and they deserve a good review from me. So... Once the washer in my building was out of order when I needed to use it do laundry for a week long trip to Reno. So I looked online, found and called Champion Laundry to inquire about wash and fold. At the time it was 75 cents per pound (it's now $1 per pound with eight pounds minimum) and they said that they could accept it at 6:00 that evening and have it ready by 9:00. I dropped it off on the way to my hotel and picked it up three hours later. They did a good job and the price was right. Since then, I have used them on a number of other occasions, including today, and I have always had quality service with a smile. I highly recommend it to anybody who needs laundry done in Reno, but doesn't want to hang around a laundromat waiting for it to finish. read more

The place was okay, biggest washer 7 dollars and the smallest was 2.25. Everything was great until we went to dry our stuff. The dryers are free, which is what made us choose this place, but the dryer completely ruined my moms blanket and sheets. Nothing else was ruined, but this was enough that we will NOT be back. They apparently accept no responsibility for damaged things, so we're stuck with a ruined blanket. read more
