Once we were there, my kids scattered, checking out all the STUFF!! It's a pretty cool store-- a few mins in, I was approached by an employee/owner? Idk, wish I would have caught his name. He very kindly let me know the comics my boy was looking at were VERY graphic for violence and even had a terrible grape part in one of the stories. I ended up telling my son he could not purchase those particular comics. He had tears in his eyes, mostly I think he was embarrassed but just in that RIGHT moment-- a fellow employee handed him Absolute Batman! Such a better choice and he even described some of the story to get him interested. Instead of my boy, spending his money on inappropriate comics. I bought his Batman comic and my little scored some sort of collectible stuffy that smells like coffee. ‍ WELL DONE SAMURAI COMICS!!

They have a huge selection of comic books and collectibles. Honestly, just let a fan loose in there and come back and pick them up after an hour so they have time to browse. When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.

Got in touch with the shop and gave me a price of $285 + $90+ for shipping. I was shopping around and found a brand new one on eBay for $250 + $22.95 for shipping. This shop kept reaching out for status on purchase to a point where they were nagging me. After committing to a new one, the shop responded "thanks for wasting our time." This is unacceptable behavior and all they care is about closing a sale vs giving right customer service. Avoid this store as their are others out there that provide better service.

I've been going to your store for many years and I had referred a friend of mine to your store…read morebecause of your wide selection of rare and obscure toys and things that you carry that that the other shops do not carry my friend had quite a few items to trade in including some vintage Star Wars Beast Wars action figures and a few other odds and ends the associate asks my friend what he wants on his collection and my friend throws him an offer of 2 to $300 and so the associate goes in the back and either talks to his manager or the owner he proceeds to tell my friend that they can offer him under $100 for the stuff so they ended up negotiating for like $70 and the guy said well most of your figures are incomplete they don't have their accessories I really felt that the offer was too low even for a business knowing that they do have to make money so then I hear from my friend that the toy box posted and bragged about obtaining his collection on Facebook and that really put a sour taste in my mouth and the sad part was is he was going in and tending on trying to get store credit so he could purchase something they don't do that I've never heard of it but terribly disappointed with how they lowball people my friend had a lot of stuff and the one thing that they said was the most valuable they didn't even highlight it on Facebook I feel like this is wrong and I feel like they should have offered him something more at least a credit they should make this right but terribly disappointed

what an odd store. if you like having panic attacks, by all means, venture in, boy-o! so as others…read morehave stated on here, the selection is vast. and i and others i know have purchased a book or two here over the years. but MY GOODNESS -- there are boxes boxes and oh yes BOXES of unsorted books e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. in the aisles. blocking lots of shelves and sections. fire hazard? yes. hoarder? yes. the book police should put a hard stop on this business from purchasing one more book until it does something with the thousands of titles littering its walkways. the staff here is....................interesting. not necessarily bad per se, but not necessarily, uh, helpful without being low-key condescending. it's like: dude, books are dying, you are LUCKY if anyone comes in here. i love books. but a lot of people don't. you would think you'd tailor your store of dying dinorsaur chopped trees to be organized and welcoming. not dark, scary and with a high probability of getting lost and/or a sprained ankle from hurtling bankers boxes. 3 stars. clean your act up, Book Barn.
