I wandered into this card shop a month or two ago. One of the owners (I wish I remembered his name) greeted me with a welcoming smile and commented on my "Boston" shirt. We had a pleasant conversation about locations of Revolutionary War battles, vintage baseball cards, etc. I purchased a T205 common card for a very fair price. This store has a great selection of vintage baseball, but also newer boxes for younger collectors. I've visited many card shops over the years - this is one that deserves to be supported! Good for vintage and plenty of it but one of the guys makes it seem like a chore to even show you anything or wanna let you buy it. All the rest of the guys were helpful and even "reminding" him what they had to sell. Seems like the tall lanky dude just doesn't give a shit. And he was protecting his $3 stack of cards like it was gold. Jesus Christ bud, I have $5k in my pocket to buy stuff. I'm not gonna run of with your shitty stack of $3 cards. After my running today at your store I will no longer be shopping there or spending any money in your facility you were in the middle of an auction I was looking at cards on your counter and I was being picky I didn't know which pack to buy your fellow employee there or owner who knows told me I wasn't allowed to touch the packs and weigh them out I wasn't weighing anything I didn't have anything to weigh anything with I was just checking with my hand because I'm very picky on the cards that I buy but obviously you told him to keep an eye on me I overheard you making me feel that you thought I was going to steal from you f*** you and your company it'll be my goal now to shut you down and make sure you close your doors thank you read more

Great place to go and look through baseball cards at all different prices. Have cards for as little as 5 cents. If you have the time you can purchase hall of famers for small change. While other card stores focus on thousand dollar purple refractors of guys who might one day be someone, this place has deals on tried and true stars for reasonable prices. A throwback to the card stores I visited as a kid before the internet damaged the hobby. The owners treat you kind and with respect wether you spend a thousand dollars or ten dollars. read more

This card shop is awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They truly care about each and every customer. They definitely have a lot of regulars. They focus strictly on the customer who walks in the store - you will not find employees trying to hawk stuff on ebay while customers are in the store. I went in there looking to sell some cards. I was told what he was only buying and it wasn't what I had okay no problem. Then I started looking at the cards specials on the counter. A neat freak at best, apparently I wasn't putting the boxes back in the exact spot they were to begin with. This guy made me feel uncomfortable didn't take to small talk ok no problem there. I finally made my decision after a half hour of looking at the cards. I pulled out my credit card to pay and then I was told they only accept a min of 10 dollars in purchase's to accept payment with using a credit card. Now there's a problem. What a waste of my time then even looking., I mean really? I won't go there again. read more

There is a reason the folks who own The Batters Box have been around since the 1980,s. Pure Class and a calming presence with the customers/dealers.They have a small co-op in the back and you can't beat the monthly fee on the case you will be able to fill.Not too many shops like this left where they have an inexpensive box which is mostly newer cards as well as several in shop auctions a week.These mind you are fun and not at all (go for the jugular) if you will. After 45 years of collecting it is very refreshing to see a shop and fantastic owners who enjoy what they are doing and not trying to stick it to you.I can honestly say when I walk in to David's & Mike's shop.(I feel like it's a hobby again) It has been several decades since that was a reality Quick note..They have T206 Tobacco Cards to New Heritage Cards in packs that are right up to date. I hope you are around for another 20 years as I find it enjoyable again to collect sports cards and memorabilia... Thanks David for returning that enjoyment back to me...... read more

Pretty cool place. Almost overwhelming, there is so much stuff. They're on ebay and also lease out shelf space to charities and other collectors. When in the area, I try to stop in. Not a lot as far as new pack/box product, but plenty to keep busy with. read more

A very nice Vintage card based shop in Phoenix. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about sports cards etc. I've been going there for over 20 years. They have cards from 10 Cents to well over a thousand dollars and everything in between. Give them a try, you won't regret it. read more

The Batters Box has everything you need. They specialize in Vintage cards, but, they also carry all the latest products. When I go to a card show, the majority of the dealers have their cards WAY overpriced. When I see that, I just walk away. Time is too precious to waste on negotiating prices. At the Batters Box. We visited the shop while in town for some spring training baseball games. The baseball cards are well organized so my kids and husband could look through stacks easily for what they wanted. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful and he didn't mind the kids looking through the 25-cent cards. Prices were fair and clearly marked. We went back the next day for more! read more
