I'm a Pokemon collector for a while now so I can only really speak for the Pokemon collection side of this store which was not up to amazing standards, the packs are scattered around and prices way above market value, buying Pokemon is not a great idea here, on the bright side if you like playing card games it looks like they are more for that with tables being half of the place. I would give it a higher rating since I'm only judging a small part of the store but whenever I have been in there the workers or mainly the only guy I have seen there is pretty rude, gets annoyed at basic questions and sounds very judgy whenever you look at getting something, sad to see but it's not worth it for me. read more

if you're a person of color don't even bother browsing, shop owner will glare at you the entire time until you either leave or buy something. if you decide to make a purchase he acts like you're a nuisance even though you're literally giving him money. been here before with my white friend and it was night and day. owner was striking up conversation, asking questions about my friend and even offered him free product. also important to note he didn't stare down my friend while browsing. very uncomfortable atmosphere unless you're white then it's very welcoming! disgusted and will not be back read more

To be honest I recommend coming here if you are shopping for magic or Pokémon. Zack, the Shop owner, is amazing. He knows exactly what you need. Always honest about what packs are best and what to grab. Thanks to him in 2 Elite Trainer Boxes (Shining Fates) I pulled 2 Charizard vmax's! Everyone that works there too not just him are so helpful and respectful. It's truly amazing to go in Everytime because he treats you like an old friend returning after a long time away. Walked in late on a Friday with my roommate and girlfriend. We were late for fnm, but decided to stay a while to watch some matches and buy some singles. Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. He was busy, but quickly helped us with any questions we had. Good selection of singles at decent prices (they've gotta make money somehow). Fairly large space with a good number of tables and comfortable seating. They have a website that can help you find cards that have in stock and singles pretty quickly. A tournament is scheduled for basically every day they're open. Cons: I stayed with my girlfriend looking for singles and deck ideas, but my roommate interacted with some of the players, and some were pretty rude to him. Although the one employee who was working probably their busiest (fnm) night of the week was very helpful, he had way too many things on his plate. Decent enough place to visit if you like magic, from what I saw that's what they specialize in. Guy was so busy that I didn't have the heart to ask about he espresso part of their name. We have a few closer shops, so we might not come back to this one, but if you're in the area, I'd say it's work a visit. Unless you're playing a tournament, try to visit when they're not hosting. read more

REPACKERS!! I'm from alaska and work at an LGS where we deal with many people trying to return sealed product. I run quality assurance on making sure it was not tampered with before restocking. I purchased two prerelease packs from this store on 11/8/2019 during Friday night magic. Never did I imagine that in SCOTTSDALE, I had to watch out for repacking. The plastic was resealed well enough to avoid suspicion but as soon as I started opening up the m20 once I was home, I pulled my phone out to record. The chandras regulator that I pulled was in between the first and second pack. While I was missing the 2020 dice, they were kind enough to toss in a 2019 dice to somewhat save face? Once I proceeded to open the throne of eldraine box the dice was present but the prerelease promo was at the very front covering the WOTC lore paper which is suppose to be at the very front covering the promo. Great selection of singles, staff was helpful and I had them look up a ton of prices. I did end up spending quite a bit but still they were very patient with my requests. Only reason for not a 5 star is it's mostly a modern crowd for magic and I play standard. They don't have a lot of standard players apparently but they were very upfront with that information. Which I hugely respect nothing worse then showing up for an event with low to no turn out because they don't want you to go to another store even though they don't have what you are looking for. But still with limited gaming store options I wish they would make a marketing push to draw in standard players. read more

These guys are awesome! Super friendly, great service, fair prices. I hadn't played magic in years and honestly forgot how to build a deck. I waked in just looking to buy a prebuilt deck and the guys there asked me how much I was willing to spend then spent 20 min building me a deck from scratch and threw in some sleeves. They also sat down with me and played a few games to teach me my new deck. I will absolutely be coming back. read more

Snapcasters is the perfect store for individuals who play "Magic: The Gathering" and love to do so competitively. The store boasts a wide variety of cards and boosters packs from older sets, along with current sets. They even have regularly scheduled tournaments. However, if an individual was looking to get good customer service, they would be better off at another LGS. In my personal experience, favoritism is clear to the individuals who have more money to "throw around." Furthermore, the store atmosphere leaves much to be desired. I have only visited Snapcasters a handful of times, so I do not considered myself a regular. Although, those times that I have gone to purchase cards, only once did I receive a "hello!" When waking in the door. Every other time has been a glance up from the shopkeeper, before turning back to fiddle with his laptop. Not only is this extremely rude, it doesn't made me feel welcome inside the store. On a separate note, this is not the kind of business for individuals who want "fair pricing." Snapcasters overcharges for Magic cards. While I understand that businesses need to generate some level of income, it's gross how they can sit there and charge TCG 'market price' for cards that other stores would have at the TCG 'median price.' I hope this review will help Snapcasters to improve its customer service so that other individuals do not have a negative experience like I did. read more
