I've been to a lot of card and game stores but this one is the best by far. It is enormous, there is so much room for games and events. That being said, it is usually very packed with players. The staff is very cool and generous. I called ahead recently to make sure there was room for my group, and was told yes. When we got there, there was literally not a single chair free. Instead of turning us away, the staff gave us permission to use a private event room for free. I would give these folks my money before ever going to a big box store for games. Prices can be seen online and they are competitive with Amazon and other big stores, so why not support local? read more

Gamers guild is a well-run game store that's actually kept clean. They staff are incredibly helpful and very very knowledgeable. I found the store looking for a place to play sorcery contestant realm. Their sorcery ambassador Eric was kind enough to teach me how to play the game and give me some cards too. I only complaint the store is their online shop for buying singles is terrible. It's built the ground up just to show magic and it's hard to find anything else. Awesome space located in an office park near the 143! I would've never known about this place had my friend who's really into Warhammer brought me along but I'm glad he did! It was a treasure trove of board games, warhammer figurines and trading cards. It's quite spacious inside with tables for playing board games, a room for retro video games and another side room for more board games and a cool 3D map of a battlefield. They have snacks and drinks for sale as well! (The Korean in me wants a big ol PC area and hot food but I'm getting greedy here ) Friendly staff and I am so happy I bought a mystery pack of Pokémon cards to add to my childhood collection. I can't express how much fun we had here. After looking at reviews on Yelp I contacted the store to see about hiring a Dungeon Master to host a work team-building event. Rose answered the phone and was immediately enthusiastic, helpful, and took my info for a call back. Ryan very quickly called me back and we scheduled a FaceTime tour of the location. He enthusiastically helped me plan the event, from food to gifts for the team, characters, timing, etc. I had a great time working with him to plan it. Then came the event. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much. Ryan took amazing care of the team, taught us how to play, and throughly entertained us. He was the perfect Dungeon Master. While the game itself was fun and engaging, Ryan was so much fun to play with and he managed the perfect combination of keeping us on track while still letting us have fun and go a little crazy. He gave us great tips and recommendations and suggestions while we were playing. He even customized the story to be specific for our company. We didn't want to leave. Not only are we already planning another event but we have multiple team members (myself included) who want to go back on their own. The customers and staff were so welcoming! Rose made sure she met us because was so excited about what we were doing and a regular customer bought me a pack of dice to welcome me!! I literally cannot wait to go back!!! Gamer's Guild AZ considers "Make America Great Again" hate speech We love shopping locally and with an allegedly family-friendly environment and great prices both locations of this store have been favorites with our family for years. We have organized get-togethers with friends at the open game tables, participated in registered events, and made frequent purchases both online and in store, without issue. So it was quite a shock when our family was asked to immediately leave even as we quietly filed into the building to buy a new game. As we headed for the door, we asked "Why?" since nothing visible had changed, about us or posted policies. The answer, in late summer 2025 the owners of both locations decided to classify "Make America Great Again" as hate speech. Consequently, the hats our kids had chosen to wear (without problem for roughly a year) now classified them as unwelcome in the store. How disappointing that Gamer's Guild AZ, who openly preaches tolerance, secretly practices discrimination to covertly bully people into hiding their convictions. read more

Fun, bright, well stocked and welcoming spot! I highly recommend stopping by the Gamers Guild Arizona. I am a newbie to these spaces and I felt totally accepted and supported here. Pros: Friendliness: The folks working behind the front desk were super friendly and eager to help us find certain cards and games-- they made recommendations and seemed to really have expertise in games and a good knowledge of their supply. Camaraderie: Lots of folks in the back room, playing games, sharing pizza and soda, and generally having a good time. I went in on a Tuesday and was surprised by the crowd. A great place to make friends and meet fellow gamers. Selection: Lots of games, various editions and add ons-- this is a very well stocked location and a great place to come looking for specific cards and games to trade and buy. My friends were particularly interested in Magic cards and were able to pick up a few "surprise" packs of cards here. No cons to speak of, this was a great place to swoop by, and I highly recommend visiting if you are Phoenix based and into games! read more

Quaint spot!! Lots to choose from. Whether you're into D&D, Warhammer, painting miniatures or just gaming in general, try this nice local place. The gal behind the counter was really inviting which is refreshing considering how many stores like this I've been to across the country and many are too snobby to leave the counter. It's as though they smell that you're new to their world so somehow they just resort to being lame. Not this place. They even have a fairly large area for those that want to sit and play something. Such a cool "hole in the wall" place! My husband and I came here off a recommendation for a friend and were not disappointed! There are so many options for MTG, Pokémon, board games, you name it. We specifically came for a MTG birthday present for a friend, we only spoke with two employees which yes one was more friendly then the other. We spoke to a tall gentleman who was working in the back where all the players were, and he was nice. The person who had checked us out was not very friendly, he had a friend or another coworker who was standing next to us as we were checking out that he spoke to rather then us really. But we loved the themed conference room, the flickering hallway lights, etc. Such a cool place in Tempe! P.S. masks are required and there is a machine to take your temperature once you walk in, don't be fooled but the small appearance when you walk in, this place is huge! read more

I've been to both stored and I would rate them both the same. Selection - pretty good selection, especially for painting and miniature games. Regular game is selection is okay. People - of the three people I have actually interacted with me, one was clueless, one was incompetent, and one didn't care whether I was there or not. Value - not really. A tiny bit of savings but you won't find any real deals to blow your hair back. Good for emergency purchases only. If I needed some primer in a hurry I would go buy it there - in fact I did exactly that. Overall, disappointing - though there is a decided lack of a great gaming store in the Phoenix Area so there isn't any competition trying to get the monopoly (snap!) on gaming. Last night, my friend and I checked out this gaming store, and I would highly recommend it. They had a really good selection of games here. Particularly, I was looking for magic pre-con decks. They had a really good selection, and my friend and I were able to choose a couple decks we really liked. We got some sleeves for the cards as well as cases. The staff was really sweet and friendly. They have a really nice game playing area too from what we saw and if I wasn't just here for the weekend, I probably would play there. It's a cool spot! They carry a variety of board games there and lots of stuff available for purchase related to board games. An area for people to play and some free to play games on the shelf that you can take and try out. They don't require you to pay to sit there and play and I honestly feel bad for being there too long because of this (not sure if that's the norm and I'm just not used to this? Since I'm only a light board gamer). Not sure how it'd work if I just wanna go in and play from time to time without purchasing any games home? Is it frowned upon? I don't mind paying I just don't want carry home more stuff. The location is very unassuming, deeper in a business park than I was expecting, and there is very little signage to tell you where to go, except for some decals on the door indicating the business name. They have great prices, great selection, and the shipping is very fast and reasonably priced, especially given that I live about 3000 miles away. But recently they went above and beyond when I ordered an item from them that was missing a component. It was clear that it was not their fault that the part was missing, but the manufacturer said they wouldn't help me. So I contacted Gamers Guild by email. They were quick to respond and sent a replacement part on the very same day at their own expense, even though it wasn't their fault. The biggest problem with Gamers Guild is that by the time other game stores realize there is a new gold standard in retail gaming, it will be too late for them. Gamers Guild either opens classes for other game store owners to teach them how to operate, or GG franchises and those stores learn the hard way. There is simply no competition for what GG is creating. From the basics of inventory, branding and welcoming staff to an evolved inclusivity policy, layered event schedule and get this...online singles searching. Thats right. You walk in, ask for a computer and search their entire single card inventory like a library, click a "check out" button and someone brings you the singles you've searched for. The Gamers Guild may not look like much from the outside, but once you enter the store things improve greatly. The store itself is clean, well lit, and well organized. Though they have a little less actual shelf space (more on that below) it is well organized and stocked with both current and classic games. They tend to cater to the card game crowd, but have plenty to offer board gamers, and roleplaying game customers. If you are unable to find what you're looking for the staff will be more than happy to assist you. Speaking of the staff, most of the staff I interacted with were courteous, knowledgeable, and above all helpful. If you need assistance, they are more than happy to help you find what you need, either on their shelves, in-store stock, or even in their warehouse. If all else fails, they will order it for you. As stated, they are also knowledgeable about most of their products and will happily discuss products with the customers. If a clean well-stocked store and courteous staff are not enough, the crowning jewel of the store is their open gamming area. A large amount of their floor space is covered by the gamming area, where customers are encouraged to sit and play. The area itself is clean, well lit, and kept at a comfortable temperature. Unlike a lot of stores with gamming rooms, the chairs are not cheap metal folding chairs or plastic chairs, but actual cushioned chairs that are comfortable for long periods of gamming. They have a plethora of snacks and drinks for the customers and even offer free bottled water. They also offer several well-furnished individual game rooms for rent, perfect for gamming groups to get together in for their regularly scheduled games. read more

AMAZING! So much fun!!! When you walk in it looks like a regular store but then as you go to the back you enter an area with a ton of tables and WALLS FULL of different fantasy games you can play. There is also a set up for different DND and RPG games. They have SNACKS galore and certain nights after 7 they have 21+ and it becomes a cool hangout for adults. I cant recommend this store enough! I've been to many game stores across Arizona but none have felt so lively and inclusive than this one, honestly!! Especially if you're a woman gamer, most of the time I find myself to be the only woman in the room but that's not the case here at all. Super inclusive and amazing atmosphere.
